    Very nice job!!! You have got that Hotwheels only tried. The perfect grey tone on the top. Congratulations!!!

      Thank you! I know what they were going for, but if the top color was really as light as Hot Wheels made it, there'd probably be less confusion about what colors it was supposed to be.

    Great work. Trying to make out if the upper half of the A-Team van above the red stripe is black as well - the actual TV one was gunmetal grey above the stripe (some late examples even veered towards silver), though often mistaken for black and much of the merchandise had both sections black.
    There's a far minor variations of A-Team vans used across the seasons (early ones also had 'GMC' painted on the left back door); from the second season the GMC on the front grille was painted out; the angle of the spoiler would sometimes differ (on a couple of models both front and rear ends would slant back); the roof aerial configuration often changed, etc., but for a 'standard look' of the van this is great work. Face's 'Vette is equally as great (though to be constructively critical, the black rim to the windshield is slightly distracting, but that's a minor niggle).
    :)

      Thanks! I did do the tri-tone black/red/gray, and tried to pick a gray that would mimic the TV show's early "is it or isn't it?" color scheme. Despite having painted it myself, I have had people absolutely swear that I actually only painted it black & red. :) Beyond that, I basically made it a mix of my favorite elements from the series, from the side pipes to the sunroof configuration to the interior styling. Good thing there's a lot of wiggle room thanks to the number of stunt vehicles they used! I'm not sure what you mean about the Corvette's windshield frame, but I have thought about revisiting it to add the sideview mirrors so if there's something else I can correct I'll do that as well.

    I was gonna say that the top is a little too dark,but in the light,it's just the right shade.
    The 4 side exhausts/pipes,need to be detailed in red.
    👌

    • @Spencer1984
      @Spencer1984  4 роки тому

      Thanks for the feedback! I tried to get as close as possible to what we saw in the show - dark enough to be confused for black in low light, but a clearly lighter in strong light. The exhaust pipes were painted as a kind of compromise of the fully painted pipes on the "hero" van(s) and the myriad stunt vans which often lacked any side pipes.

      Just found this looks amazing! Any tips or suggestions on how to make the 4 side exhausts? Thanks!

    Very cool building! I finally got my hands on an Ateam van kit. Where did you find the interior panel material?

    • @Spencer1984
      @Spencer1984  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks! The material was Plastruct's "Rubber Tread," and I think it was part #91712. They also offer a smaller version as part #91711, so you may want to check both.

    Great builds!!! I am currently working on the van myself. But having an issue with the tires. How did you do the BF Goodrich tire??That is what was used in the series, not the Goodyear's that come with the kit...

    • @Spencer1984
      @Spencer1984  6 років тому

      Thanks! I used some plain sidewall tires from my parts box with decals from Scale Equipment Ltd. (www.seltd.net/). Since I built this, Fireball Modelworks (www.fireballmodels.info/) has also released BF Goodrich decals as well as full custom tires. Both SELtd and FM do excellent work, so you can't go wrong either way.
