Thank you very much.
Thanks You 👏🏽🏅🏆
You saved me from buying one of the courses from Marina. I can’t thank you enough guys ❤️
My wife actually has bought one of them but after I show her this channel she cancel the course and returned money back.
You don't have to buy any damn course. You people just want to spend your money. I wish you don't have much money to afford a course, then you would consider searching for some free resources.
@sort8760 I consume a wide range of resources, both paid and free. Not sure why having money seems to bother you, sorry you can't afford to do that.
I'm shocked at how Marina confidently tells the wrong pronunciation for simple words... It feels like she can't be bothered to look them up in the dictionary🙁
you see - she is confident in any bullsht she says and she earns big bucks
me double checking every single phrase - getting average salary
Because she is Russian 😂
She doesn’t earn big bucks. She tries to make it look like she’s rich, but in Russia it’s known that she is a grifter and tries to make money selling courses. After American’s bloggers and teachers Exposures she failed in selling English courses. That’s why now she tries to sell courses about how to become rich.
Some Russian bloggers made investigations about her new courses and it looks like in USA there is no any success therefore she tries to warmup her audience in Russia, because only they watch her.
I know it, I am Russian myself and a certified ESL teacher and I've never trusted or relied on her teaching skills
still in comparison with Russian average people income - she earns real big bucks!

Oddly enough Marina's way is the path to fluency. At one point just speak and forget about grammar, precise vocabulary and pronunciation. It's called ingraining an English department in your brain. Postponing the Speaking part until you reach perfection is the most common obstacle to fast fluency. It doesn't matter if you sound liké Schwarzenegger or Jackie Chan. Just speak. You'll get laughed at, at first, but at least it won't take you a lifetime to reach fluency.
Thank you for teaching us "real life English".
It's actually an American variant of English
You are great teachers, i love your classes, thank you so much.
When I went to school 20 years ago, we were taught this expression “it’s raining cats and dogs” 😂 perhaps, back then, it didn’t sound as old-fashioned lol
No one can teach pronunciation like you Kevin.
Thanks very much
How does he teach you pronunciation, I wonder? 🤷♀️ He explains nothing. Sure, he pronounces sounds in a right way but it doesn't mean you do the same way.
Thank you, it was very helpful 👍
Thank you for teaching proper english
Thanks for your videos.
Thank you UA-cam for offering me this channel. this channel is the best
Kevin makes the American accent pronunciation much easier to learn than others.
Thank you teacher for sharing such an incredible lesson. It's very informative.
I am very happy I have discovered your lessons. Never really worked on my pronunciation but maybe it's time. Thank you.
Thank you, you are just wonderful.
raining cats and dogs is british )
Thanks dear teacher
Я обожаю ваш канал, но есть один минус:
хотелось бы подписей к отрывкам из фильмов с названием фильма.
Уже захотелось многие из этих фильмов посмотреть, но я не знаю что это за фильмы.
Thank you sir it was another good lesson 👏🙏
Teacher Kevin, and Lisa. Thank you 💕 I love your videos. Warm regards!
Thank you for teaching us the right way of speaking English!
You're absolutely right. How come that young lady makes so many mistakes?
It’s old-fashioned but SOME people do still use it. I heard this idiom many times in interviews or tv shows, maybe it was said in a humorous way. Still it’s good to know what it means.
Thank you for the video.
Thank you - quite difficult words for learners
Thank you teacher!
Kevin is a real teacher! Thank you💖🙏🏻💞
There’s two things: first it’s so interesting to watch this video as I have learned a lot from her mistakes more than intentionally go and watch grammar lessons. However, bad thing is she has 8+ million followers and teaches almost everything wrong 😢
thanks for the video 🤗
Great job
I agree with you, it’s outdated but actually I keep hearing it in different series and movies. So I guess it’s not so outdated after all
Name at least one, please
Thanks awfully. That's a huge help.
I shall use "it's raining cats and dogs" even more now.
By the by, it was pouring down with rain at three o'clock in these parts.
'cause it never rains but it pours here ...
Yes, don’t think we need the language police - if it falls out of favor you’ll hear it less frequently over time. I use expressions from my parents and grandparents all the time and I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that. I might refrain from language like this in a job interview, but perhaps not. As with any idiom, you just have to read the room.
The last exersice to practice pronunciation was awesome. Thank you for teaching us in this way.
It's why if you reach b1/b2 level, you should continue learning only with native speakers. And of course at this point, it worth to set up for yourself what English (British or American) you continue learning. Thanks Kevin and Lisa...
Well said.
Holy cow ! You are great, Gracias from México!
I disagree with the idea not to use the idiom 'raining cats and dogs'. It brightens up the speech and makes you sound interesting. This trend 'don't say...' , 'we never use...' is at least strange because the language is not limited with SOME people and the way THEY use the language. It is always up to you to use this or that idiom/expression or not. Don't listen to other people.
Thank you so much🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I like that you repeat some lessons to reinforce it, this way I don't have to search for the original lessons if I forgot some rules or structures or pronunciations
I love the real American English content you present us Sir. There's always something real, authentic and interesting to learn from this channel. Keep up the good work Sir.
I’m really glad 😀 to have seen two of my best teachers in your video. You are awesome 👏 Liza and Kevin. Keep up the great work
OMG You guys are truly amazing correcting her mistakes! Her videos look funny after your corrections and comments. 😂
Thank You Kevin.
I think Marina should be getting some kick backs from you guys, lol. Love the channel! As an *almost* native speaker, I learn something new every time. Keep up the great work!
What a twist! I felt that it's impossible to learn a language with non-native speakers, but Marina sounded very convincing. 😢 Thank you!
Good lessons...Looks like Kevin is a robot...very competent one though.
I was impressed by the title of the mistaken "Its raining cats and dogs". I have been learning English more than 12 years, my mother tongue is not English, I sometimes get a little bit confusing which one I use the accent of English of British or American English. For simplicity, I prefer American English to British English. Thank you Kevin and Lisa. Allow me to subscribe to your channel. Greetings from Indonesia
It is funny Marina's videos get millions of views despite the mistakes, yours get just few thousand
a lot of scammed people :D
It's not funny.
She got attention because she made significant progress on her own.
This is difficult for the average person. This channel, on the other hand has native speakers(They didn't pay a dime or make any sacrifice to get the accent they speak with). Marina deserves the attention she has.
Watching your helpful videos again and again and enjoying. You’re the best teachers in the world.
In my country we have a similar expression, but we don't use it often: "están lloviendo sapos y culebras", that is: it's raining cats and dogs. Thanks. 💯👍
It is very hard to learn English as it is so I cannot imagine learning the wrong way and relearn it because someone is teaching the wrong pronunciation as well as wrong phrases and grammar. We need teachers like you Kevin and Liza.
I'm greeting you from Azerbaijan 🇦🇿
Thank you
You have no idea how much you've been helping me with these videos...I didn't know I didn't know this, and I'm sure I will need a lot more help! I am grateful.
First, ''it's raining cats and dogs'' is natural or unnatural, old or new or idk smth else the most important thing is to me she is not incorrect 'cuz the expression is correct, it does exist and that is an older or a new expression that's the other face of the problem. THank ya guys
What bout the other mistakes that she made ??
@@sadhnasharma9214 What about the mistakes made by Americans?? if Americans being native speakers have made mistakes and keep making 'em then why Marina may not make 'em,, Not critisizing anybody, just want everybody to know nobody's perfect.. There're many phrases, words etc used by Americans but are not even in vocab. every thing has 2 faces, so don't forget to take a closer look at the other one. She makes mistakes but at the same time speaks very well , even teachers or lecturers at Uni don't/ can't speak it very well. Subscribers of Marina's, if you don't like her then Do not follow her. that's it. thanks for reading mine
@@vladimirbaloyan440 I didn't say that making mistakes is a bad thing. I totally agree with you that making mistakes is common, even among native speakers. I merely typed that becoz u said that she wasn't wrong. While she may or may not be correct about the phrase, she does make mistakes as do most of us.
Also, Kevin didn't claim that the phrase is incorrect; as far as i see, he simply labelled it old-fashioned throughout the video.
@@sadhnasharma9214 Yes, they labelled it a mistake.
Just go back and check the video title.
@@user-fw4ow7ku1t The term in the title alludes to the pronunciation mistakes made by her..
Thanks for the video guys!
Thanks a lot Kevin and Liza 👍
Thank you for teaching!
When I went to school in Moscow in the 90s our English teacher told us about “it’s raining cats and dogs” and she said not to use it, because it’s old-fashioned 😁
Put out Put in, Russian sisters and brothers, please.
It's a mystery to me why this expression is so sticky, students all over the world know it, even thou native speakers never use it.
It's just like "I'm fine thank you, and you?"
it's used commonly in British English
Who cares ?! Not everyone tries to get IELTS Band 8 or 9. Why not use it if many people understand it? Just convey your idea. Yes, there might be better ways to say it, nevertheless it is good to know this expression or whatever you call it.
When I randomly bumped into Marina's video for the first time I did not pay attention to who was the author, but my ears were cut with a knife by my native Russian (despite I'm a Ukrainian) accent. I said she was definitely a Russian girl. My bad, Marina, your English is perfect but you deserved to go ahead in learning native phonetics before teaching the people like many other non-native teachers. Break a leg, do not stop!
you are the second to none english teacher Kevin... Thanks!!!
It's such a great lesson. Thank you so much.
learning english is not to learn a religion; No mistakes,No progressing
Glad I've learned another way to say It's pouring down. I never use "the cats and dogs" expression because I don't like it. Thanks Kevin . I really enjoy your lessons
Thanks awfully. That's a huge help.
I shall use "it's raining cats and dogs" even more now.
By the by, it was pouring down with rain at three o'clock in these parts.
'cause it never rains but it pours here ...
Thank you so much for the useful content!
I've already heard in a movie "it's pouring rain". I wonder if it's also a common way to convey the idea of it's raining very hard. 🤔
Thanks a lot🌷
Upload a video on british phonemes pronunciation
Good job Kevin.Very good lesson.
I think non-native English teachers should avoid teaching pronunciation. It might be okay to make a pronunciation mistake, but teaching mistakes is a horrible thing.
🙏🤗
Great as always
Thank you
Nice Kevin !👍
Marina and "speaking real English" 😂😂😂😂😂
I came back to watch this usefull lesson again. Thanks a lot Kevin and Lisa. Greetings from Georgia🤗🥰
Great video!!!!! Thank you, guys, God bless you!❤
❤
Just seeing "cats and dogs" in the thumbnail, I'm already giggling🎉
I've been following Kevin and using Chat GPT for English study for a long time and I'll go with Kevin.
We should only learn from native Americans like Kevin, Liza and Paul teacher etc they are all my favorite.
The police " is" is used to too
I've subscribed anyway...😊😊
Thanks a lot for the lesson! Particularly for my the word "Latte" is still tricky but I trying to pronounce it correctly - nobody understands if you pronounce it in Italian way here in the US. And one more separate thanks for articles using! One day I may be start to use them correctly😆
20 years ago I read an old learn book. They used there : " It's raining like cats and dogs".
I do appreciate your content, but I think qualifying some of your statements might be beneficial in order to avoid overgeneralizations. After all, how common an expression is is relative and dependent on the region, so what sounds natural to me might not sound natural to you. For example, I've heard "it's raining cats and dogs" used in Michigan by both young and older people.
Lol okay, I will follow your advice and start learning Michigan English ahah. Bot of Marina, if you have ever been in America you would never have said something like that!
@@mariashevyrova3730 I never really attacked you, did I? So... I'm not sure why you're attacking me personally. My comment didn't say anything about Marina, so how come you think I'm a fan of hers? I dislike her and her content, but it has nothing to do with my critique of this video.
Oh and by the way, I am in an MA TESOL program at a major American school :)
❤❤
Even though Marina lives in the USA seems like she doesn't communicate with locals too much. I hear the right pronunciations every day, so it's obvious to me. No one says "Por-shey". Any language should be taught by its native speakers, period.
Kevin, may I ask you a question? Do you have the idea to write the learn book "Avoid mistakes made by Marina Mogilko"?
Another movie quote for "raining pretty hard". The Big Sleep. Dorothy Malone trying to stop Boggart from leaving...." Dorothy: You're gonna wait for him to come out. - Humphrey : Yes - Dorothy : It won't close for another hour or so. It's raining pretty hard..... Humphrey : I got my car.....
And,
What's a Niche ?.
or.
What's Niche ?.
Thanks in advance for the answer.
Thank you for the class! What about saying "It is pouring with rain"
Never heard of
👍
I just subscribed to your channel. Do you have videos on how to pronounce vocal z like mercedes? also words like brand, Randy.... we Hispanic just say A i know is ae. Thank you !
You could also say: “It’s coming down hard”.
Another great video! What about ''It's bucketing down" or "It's belting down" ? Are they in use?
What do you
Do you
(How to say in fluency)
You can say: It's raining buckets. I guess it's not as old-fashioned as raining cats and dogs. "It's a downpour" is another option.
So i, ee and ea in
Pizza
Green
Beans
Are pronunced the same, 3 different letters combinations for the same sound. And also some of those letters combinations represent a different sound in other words like i in milk and ea in learn. Another example oo in blood, good and door, and there are almost not many rules to learn when you use each sound. As a native Spanish speaker ponunciation is the most difficult part of learning English.
