    -"I enjoy my leisure time reading thought provoking books at night."
    "Handful of people could flee from their debt."
    -"So take a deep inhale and a slow exhale; don't worry, we'll rescue you."
    "In a nutshell, the depth of this perception comes from the early stages of humanity."
    Thank you very much!
    Your channel is a superlative and ideal place, where American-English learners are able to achieve their deep and incredible goals. Sometimes, I'm astonished by the humongous and basic mistakes that teachers who I was adjusted to watching make. I'm super grateful to you for finding and demonstrating them!
    Best regards to you and your country, from Ukraine

    Like "SUBscribe," I also hear a lot of non-native speakers (including advanced speakers) saying "subTItles" instead of "SUBtitles."

    I think she's trying to say"You can make some sentences for me and comment them right down here". The mistake would be, in this case, the S of "comments".

  • @HarrierPanels
    @HarrierPanels Місяць тому +1

    At 2:06, she says, "After that, you can make some sentences for me and comment them right down here." The sentence is grammatically correct. The issue lies in her pronunciation of the letter 'T' at the end of words, which sounds twangy. For example, listen to how she pronounces the word 'debt' at 0:15. It sounds like *'de-ts'* , which is similar to how she pronounces 'comment,' making it sound like *'commen-ts'* .
    However I would use ' and comment ON them right down here' which is more commonly used and may sound more natural to native English speakers.

      "Comment them" is grammatically correct?

    • @B_Ruphe
      @B_Ruphe Місяць тому +2

      No. "Comment" as a verb is intransitive and therefore cannot take a direct object. Kevin is correct.

    • @B_Ruphe
      @B_Ruphe Місяць тому +2

      @@jaxxon98 No, it isn't.
      The verb "comment" is intransitive.

    • @jaxxon98
      @jaxxon98 Місяць тому +2

      @@B_Ruphe I thought the commenter above was saying it was ok to say "comment them."

    • @HarrierPanels
      @HarrierPanels Місяць тому +1

      Thanks for the clarification, @B_Ruphe. You're correct that the verb "comment" in modern English is typically used intransitively with "on" or "about" to mean making remarks or notes on something. However, in older times, it was also used transitively with the same meaning, although this usage is now considered archaic. For example, in 1677, Lancelot Addison wrote, "who have expounded Scripture out of its Senses, and have so commented the Laws thereof."
      Additionally, "comment" can still be used transitively in the context of inserting comments into code. For instance, one might say, "I wish I had commented this complicated algorithm back when I remembered how it worked."
