The 'female wolverine' is Lady Deathstrike. In the comics she's a cyborg with a mad hate-boner for Wolverine. She also has super long extremely sharp talons instead of fingers. Hence the nails.

Jen is on point. Even the good X-men movies have a habit of using a lot of characters that are nothing more than cameos. Heroes and villains that are fully fleshed out characters in the comics end up as mute henchmen without personalities.
Unfortunate relic of the times. There would have been no intention of ever getting around to anything close to Lady Deathstrike's story in the movies, so why not use a pre-existing character from the comics as a one off henchman?
Lady Deathstrike's claws aren't her fingernails. If I remember correctly, they come from her fingertips. In the comics, I don't even think she has retractable claws. Her fingers are just really long, claws.
@@SamuelSaveli she’s more machine than woman. @Adam Clary funny part is that if they used the comics story, she would willingly work with Stryker to go after Logan. And she’s not even a mutant so it works out for Stryker. All it took in that scene before their fight was for Stryker to say “But unfortunately, during your escape, you killed her father.” Then he walks out.
My two favorite "little moments" of this film have always been when Lady Deathstrike's head clunks on the bottom of the vat after being injected with the adamantium, and when Magneto and Mystique are talking to each other laughing then he says to Rogue, "We love what you've done with your hair."
Knowing that Jen hasn't seen the Fantastic Four yet, I wonder what her prediction would be to have the X-men and the MCU forced together and the interactions and conflicts would be and who would be dominant in the world.

Hear Lady Deathstrike has it out of her nails.... why's that a hurdle? Black Panther did this exact thing with shorter nails 15 years later.
Mannnnnnnn, this movie was AMAZING first few times I saw it. This was the first time they really got Wolverine right. When he pins the dude to the fridge and screams I just felt like they got it. Still one of my favorite superhero movies. Keep up the good work guys!
The female Wolverine is actually Lady Deathstrike and in the comics her claws don't retract. So claw fingers all the time. This is the best of the original trilogy in my opinion.
As a sequel this is definitely the best one of the trilogy before they rebooted the franchise, Striker in this film is the best version of the character in my opinion. Love the fact Wolverine (Japan one) and Logan are really good follow ups to these films just because they continue and explore more of Logan but just don’t really get what they were trying to do with the reboots tbh because it’s just not x-men without wolverine imo
So Lady Deathstrike's death is really tragic because just as Logan stabbed her with the fluid, the mind control started to wear off seconds after. You can see her eyes returning to normal basically. Had Logan endured for a few more seconds she would have returned back to normal. Sad really. Its why Logan's got that sad expression on his face as he himself realizes this. Like I said...Tragic.
9:29 In the comics William Stryker's a religious fanatic who thinks mutants are devil spawn. Nightcrawler is also Mystique's son. She had a son with Sabretooth called Graydon Creed as well who became an anti mutant politician.
The “Lady Wolverine” is actually based on a character from the series known as Lady Deathstroke. She had antimantium claws just like that, so I don’t think they were trying to make a point about her being a female
8:43...I remember watching that in the theatre here in Davenport, Iowa. Logan grabs that guy and pins him to the fridge, the whole crowd gasps, then this guy like two rows behind me screams: "YEAH, BADASS! YEAH!"
Fun comic facts: 1. This movie was in response to the previous when fans were like "it's not really like the comics that much". So this movie is based off of a graphic novel called God Loves, Man Kills, mixed with the lore they'd already put down. 2. Lady Deathstrike (female Wolverine) looks nothing like that in the comics. She's also not a mutant in the comics, but is in fact a leader of a cyborg mercenary group, who have altered their bodies with alien technology. She, in particular, has 4 foot long robot arms that end in razor sharp claws, hence the nails (its not just 'cos girl'). 3. Nightcrawler is Mystique's birth son in the comics (his father is a demon named Azazel... Wait whaaaaa?!) and Rogue is her adopted daughter (who gets her permanent powers of flight and super strength from holding on to Ms Marvel/Carol Danvers for too long in the comics) 4. The metal man is Colossus, and his sister (in the comics) is Magick, Anya Taylor Joy's character in the not so great final Foxiverse movie, The New Mutants. 5. The girl who phases through the bed is Kitty Pryde, the actress being replaced by Eliott Page in later instalments. She gets a brief mention in the first movie as a 'girl who could walk into a bank vault'. 6. The pilot for the 90s X-men cartoon was called Pryde of the X-men, and was made in the late 80s. Due to a sudden shift in aesthetics, fashion, and music, the pilot was scrapped and remade just as X-men, with Jubilee replacing Kitty Pryde as main expositional audience stand-in character (mainly because she had a 90s aesthetic in both fashion and powers, and is essentially a walking highlighter. This is also why Dazzler was taken out as there powers were too similar, and Rogue was put in as she had a similar personality to Dazzler). The pilot episode can still be found on UA-cam. Some scenes from the show were cut together to make the opening for the 90s cartoon..... ..... And Wolverine has the best accent ever in it
The Logan is an art professor joke was later "realised" in the comics he was professor of "The art of fighting without fighting" and also "The art of fighting with fighting"
When I first read Magneto in the 70s, he didn't need extra iron injected into you. There's plenty of metal in the human body already. Iron is what makes your blood red, and Calcium is a metal. In the comics, he would lift and toss people and Avengers all the time by their blood.
just consider it an example of what happened when Magneto pulled the Adamantium from Wolverine's skeleton in the 90's. It also was pulled out through the man's pores.
@@Sentinel3D Yeah, but here he also needed enough to use like he did, and I doubt he could create those 3 balls with the natural quantity of iron in a man (so no calcium or other "fragile" metals, just classic iron)
@@leonardolonghi3472 a 250 pound man has about 5 pounds of metal in him. If you think calcium is weak, even cushioned with flesh, a fist hurts. And pure calcium, like sodium, is dangerous. People would also track meteorite dust all the time. Magneto could silently collect it.
The woman is Lady Deathstrike from the comics. The nails are actually comic accurate. The difference is that in the comics she is a cyborg, not a mutant.
The thing about the lady with the nails is, her name in the comics is Lady Deathstrike, and those are her actual powers in the comics, she was a love interest of Logan's in the comics. Also, I really enjoy the parallels between mutants and the gay community, which was really put centerfold with that line tossed out by Bobby's mom.
Im pretty sure this has been covered, but in the comics Nightcrawler's mother is Mystique and his father is in the up and coming (for Jen at least) Azazel.
Lol I always laughed too at the professor x talking to cyclops ...like why couldn't gene just talk directly to cyclops but guess she was still having trouble controlling her powers
Storm is criminally underused and nerfed in the X-Men movies. She's an omega level mutant, one of the most powerful X-Men and she so often takes a back seat to other mutants less powerful than her. I really hope MARVEL does her character justice when they introduce her in the MCU.
@@heitt9671 The Deadpool films at least got Piotr right. I hated that he was just an American guy in the old films. The man's Russian. Let him be Russian, damn it.
What Marvel character ISN'T nerfed in their movies? Also, what makes you think the MCU will make her more powerful when they always nerf their own characters?
You guys should had watched these in plot chronological order, it's a lot easier to understand that way. First Class-Origins-X1-X2-X3-The Wolverine-The Gifted-Days Of Future Past (First Timeline "Reset")-Apocalypse-Dark Phoenix-Legion (2nd Timeline "Reset")-Deadpool-Deadpool 2-New Mutants-Logan

Mannnnnnnn, this movie was AMAZING first few times I saw it. This was the first time they really got Wolverine right. When he pins the dude to the fridge and screams I just felt like they got it. Still one of my favorite superhero movies. Keep up the good work guys!
Did anyone love the fact Jenn called Xavier " wheels " 🤣🤣🤣🤣 loved it. Jenn is the best
That goosebumps reference killed me 😂
The female Wolverine is actually Lady Deathstrike and in the comics her claws don't retract. So claw fingers all the time. This is the best of the original trilogy in my opinion.
You’re really bringing the nostalgia with that old X-men theme.
MUST do a montage of Jen saying “Holden Thomas Hardman!” Lol
This one is the best out of the original 3 for me. That nightcrawler scene is so good!
This is my favorite movie out of the X-men trilogy. Love the vid!
That little clip of the hallway scene made me want to watch Rogue One again.
Holden has had his humor shine lately especially with the seduction lines with wolverines claws and Jean (mystique) 😎🤣😂
Holden Thomas Hardman!!
The intros to Holdens videos just get better and better
Thank you! I work really hard on them and get a littttle better every time!
@@DMFX1 yes sir keep up the good work
9:29 In the comics William Stryker's a religious fanatic who thinks mutants are devil spawn.
Logan grabs that guy and pins him to the fridge, the whole crowd gasps, then this guy like two rows behind me screams:
"YEAH, BADASS! YEAH!"
Fun comic facts:
Wait whaaaaa?!) and Rogue is her adopted daughter (who gets her permanent powers of flight and super strength from holding on to Ms Marvel/Carol Danvers for too long in the comics)
Some scenes from the show were cut together to make the opening for the 90s cartoon.....
..... And Wolverine has the best accent ever in it
The "HOLDEN THOMAS HARDMAN" makes my day everytime.
Petition for the Patreons to make Jen react to the 90’s Animated Series of the X-Men, which is known to be the best version of the X-Men as a whole.
Best version till date
@@kratos71 Yep. My older sister (who’s an X-Men fangirl) agrees with that. I hope that there are Patreons that would support this idea.
That and the humor of wolverine almost cursing every episode
This is definitely my favourite film of the original trilogy
Btw the lady with the nails is Lady Deathstrike and in the comics her claws are SUPPOSED to come out of her fingers not her wrists like Logan
Calcium is not metal
@@kratos71 Calcium is indeed an alkaline earth metal, just like sodium and potassium. Not all metals look alike, and they all don't clang and shine
just consider it an example of what happened when Magneto pulled the Adamantium from Wolverine's skeleton in the 90's.
That goosebumps edit was genius
I love seeing the smoke effect every time Nightcrawler teleports .
The music at the beginning is "Dies Irae" from the Mozart symphony "Requiem"
Storm is criminally underused and nerfed in the X-Men movies. She's an omega level mutant, one of the most powerful X-Men and she so often takes a back seat to other mutants less powerful than her. I really hope MARVEL does her character justice when they introduce her in the MCU.
Not only her, but Bobby, Kitty, Remy and Colossus. All of them need more representation in the MCU when they finally come.
@@heitt9671 The Deadpool films at least got Piotr right. I hated that he was just an American guy in the old films. The man's Russian. Let him be Russian, damn it.
Hard agree. I love Storm, but hate how wasted she was. At least the reboots gave us mohawk Storm. Lol. Love that look.
@@War624 Yeah, but i hope that in the MCU he's not just a complete CGI toy
What Marvel character ISN'T nerfed in their movies? Also, what makes you think the MCU will make her more powerful when they always nerf their own characters?
You guys should had watched these in plot chronological order, it's a lot easier to understand that way.
