- Federica Lombardi sings an excerpt from Elettra’s Act I aria in the final dress rehearsal. Production: Jean-Pierre Ponnelle. Conductor: Manfred Honeck. 2022-23 season. Videography by Pete Scalzitti.
I will always remember Nicole Chevalier’s Elettra - the best . Unsurpassed.
I will always remember Carol Vaness’ Elettra - the best . Unsurpassed.
And Cheryl Studer.
@@doGreatartistsgrowontrees , e la Sutherland??
One of the absolute best on the scene. Adore her.
❤🎉 magnifica voce incantevole 🎉❤
Wonderful!
I had the chance to listen to her at La Scala, she is probably the best in this role today!
Gosh if according to you it is the best rendition I'm afraid to ask who is the worst in your opinion. Only if mme Foster Jenkins.
@@operafairy nothing better to do than writing unkind and annoying comment? I suggest to invest better your time... maybe a visit to the ear doctor?
@@aimonebrecciafratadocchi5004 it's just a fact, which you obviously can't argue with objectively except giving such absurdly silly advices. If you seriously think this mediocre singing is the best, you have to use your own recommendations by yourself. Or listen to someone else except Lombardi. May be it will heal your hearing and help you to employ your time usefully. Cheers.
Voce inadeguata al ruolo. Soprani allo sbaraglio.
simply suppppppper
There are sooo many excellent renditions of this aria and so many gorgeous sopranos who interpreted this role gloriously that this performance looks like a cheap surrogate. This voice has no proper core, it stuck in her throat and because of it the uneven vibrato and even screech appear and voice is unbalanced through the range and it is not as smooth as Mozart's music requires. Plus the dynamic lines are beyond her vocal and technical possibilities and due to it she forsing her sound especially in high register. She struggles with this piece so hard that she just doesn't have any option for the dramatic interpretation, accents and the emotional phrasing. She has good Italian diction, but it's her native language. BTW I've listened to it in person, so it's my personal impressions. Nice pannier though.
Too harsh on her, at least her voice is clears , good phrasing d looks!!
@@cecilkim3670 I never want to be harsh, I just want to be objective as I can as a human being :) Her voice is nor clear in the terms of it's word's meaning - she hasn't pure, ringing, luminous tone, it' sometimes even quite opaque and because of it sounds unpleasant. I haven't mentioned very important thing about Elettra's role - it has low notes. And Lombardi's voice totally lacks of it. Literally, she has no low register, no chest support. Because of it her voice has no proper volume and colour. Sometimes it seems flat. Elettra is a selfish monster, Lombardi is just offended girl. This role needs more powerful and reach voice, at least, more deep and technically skillful.
Thanks for this. I’m no expert but it felt off, thanks for giving technical terms for it.
Still love the costumes though.
You are absolutely in the right. She is fully out of her depth. The laborious breathing is all over the place.
The general press/media has everyone believing she is the second coming. Due to the unprecedented disappearance of genuine vocal stars, they (agents, administrators and other gatekeepers, official and self-appointed), in reaction to their panic and despair, are declaring just about every conservatory-level student they throw onstage a star. And there is no bottom in sight.
