    If you have only one day to hike in Bryce Canyon National Park - this is the trail to do! A 7.8 mile loop with around 2,000' elevation change as you hike the rim of the Bryce Amphitheater then down into the canyon! This trail is unreal - it takes you up close and personal to walk through the hoodoos. We hiked this loop the last week of June 2020 and it was like we had the place to ourselves. Stunning views, rock formations and vivid colors at every turn. This trail is all exposed so wear sunscreen, bring lots of water and wear clothing to protect you from the sun. It was actually cold the day we went, so we were happy to have layers!

    What is a Hoodoo?
    en.wikipedia.o...)
    Hoodoo
    n.
    A hoodoo (also called a tent rock, fairy chimney, or earth pyramid) is a tall, thin spire of rock that protrudes from the bottom of an arid drainage basin or badland. Hoodoos typically consist of relatively soft rock topped by harder, less easily eroded stone that protects each column from the elements. They generally form within sedimentary rock and volcanic rock formations. Hoodoos are found mainly in the desert in dry, hot areas.

    Ahhhh, finally you have hiked one of my most favorite sites in the world. Your description of feeling like you were in a Dr. Seuss book totally describes the effects of being in this surreal landscape of hoodoos and vivid colors. Thank you for the beautiful panoramic views and the great narration of your hike. What an awesome video! This hike needs to be on every hiker’s bucket list, for sure.

      I can’t agree more, a bucket list hike indeed. Bryce was amazing, and it was empty! Glad you liked the video.

    Wouldn't say it's the only trail you need to do at Bryce Canyon, but it's definitely an epic one!

      Hi Holland! The place is amazing, no doubt. What it crowded? What's your next big trek?

      Hi guys! The only thing I wished when I was there was to have my grown son there with me so we both could enjoy such a phenomenal nature together!!! And what a great question you asked since I am a huge traveler especially to National Park & I even have annual membership lol. With that being said I hope to get to see Yellowstone this summer & it will be an amazing trip that I know for sure!!! You guys jus got one more subscriber:).

    So excited to go there this Sept. Hopefully the trails wont be closed due to covid

      I hope they aren’t closed. It was pretty empty when we were there. We felt like we could keep a safe distance. I hope you have a great trip. If it is closed, check out the Kanab area. We did a video about Red Hollow Slot Canyon and Cutler Point which is in that area but not in the National Park. Those places were magic.

    Any AirBnB/Cabin for 4 Adults 2 kids you could recommend? Option B, a RV rental that can be dropped off at local RV camp.

      I don't think I could give you a Airbnb recommendation because we haven't stayed in a place that would accommodate that many people. The RV sounds rad!!! Maybe someone else checking out this video can help.

    How long did it take you to do the whole loop?

    • @JustAdrift
      @JustAdrift  3 роки тому +3

      It took us about five hours, which included filming. For a scenic trail, it's pretty fast. You could do it in less than four hours if you didn't take any extended breaks. I hope that helps!

    Hi, we are going to visit Bryce in June. Did you hike this trail clockwise or counterclockwise? Some people say that for beginners it’s easier to do the hike in counterclockwise direction.

    • @JustAdrift
      @JustAdrift  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Anna! If I remember correctly, we hiked it clockwise. I also remember thinking that it was a well maintained, fairly gradual trail. No long, steep, rocky sections. I hope you have a great time out there!

      One more question: did you park your car and start the hike at the Fairyland Point?

    I just watched this because I have done this hike a few years ago. This is a great hike, but these two add a little too much of themselves and really didn't show enough of the trail. I would rather watch a video where they show mostly all trail. A & K videos of Bryce and all around Utah and although there is a fair amount of them in the videos they are great fun. This just doesn't show enough of the trail.

      Hi Jan! Thanks for the feedback…this was one of our first videos and I agree we could have shown more trail wise. It’s definitely a learning curve seeing what people like. Thanks for watching and for sharing your point of view ✌️

    Ridiculous title. Peekaboo loop is amazing and you shouldn’t dissuade people from doing it just to try to get clicks. Come on.

      Hi Nate. Sorry you feel that way. We just wanted to highlight the Fairyland Loop. We do want our channel to grow and get more views by using catchy thumbnails and titles. We want to encourage people to hike, not discourage them. You are absolutely right, Peekaboo Loop is awesome. Thanks for watching.
