No problem! Really wanted to go into detail on all the funky allies that jive with the Golems. Chaos is a huge faction and it’s easy to miss some absolute bangers
@@wargamesontoast Yea! Will go the "Black Primer > Silver drybrush > Red Contrast Paint on the main parts" route as a base. Also got lucky when buying them on eBay as they came with extra sprues for an additional Breacher, Armator and Legionaries.
Thank you! This is what I was waiting for. I was unsure of which allies to look at. I knew the piper and the slaughterpriest after checking out tournament lists but now I sort of want to build one with the goat shaman, if only because I like his model A LOT more
The Bray Shaman is an excellent model both in terms of looks and in game. Very cost effective for the power he brings. The only downside is grabbing one since iirc, GW don’t sell them separately. They are found in the AOS Getting Started Box (Vanguard Box?). You may have to trawl EBay to find one as a single
He absolutely is a solid option! I only mentioned the ones that really stand out to me, but the Crusher is excellent. He steps on the toes of the Ogor Breacher a bit, but he is noticeably tougher to kill thanks to T6 and 35 wounds. He also has a large base and a higher movement speed. Use the Crusher. He’s awesome in just about any Chaos Warband.
@@wargamesontoast Excellent, thanks for the advice! I am adding allies with the same scheme for different warbands. In this case, I supposed that the Iron Golems and the Fomoroid Crusher are a fantastic match for being tanky.
Oh the box is fine by itself! If you won’t to go more competitive you’d want to buy singles or multiple boxes of the set :) Or you could convert of course!
All the rules are free online from Games Workshop! You can also play Warcry using Tabletop Simulator and there’s an amazing discord for Warcry who will walk you through how to get all that set up and how to use it :) Iron Golems are also pretty darn awesome :)
I just answered my own question. guarantee 6 damage to all enemies within 3 inches whenever you Quad or 6 damage whenever your breacher runs in.....that's insane.
Yeah…their trait is really good. The only downside is that Iron Golems lack an in-faction speed piece. Thankfully they are mostly movement 4, which is average, and they have a built-in bruiser and fantastic chaff etc. The trait makes them super reliable. And remember, quad 6 also lets you Rampage 6”, which is VERY nice
Yeah, sorry about that, I misspoke. The card on screen is correct though! My analysis of the Armator is 100% based on him being T4 as well, so no worries there.
@@wargamesontoast yes, that's why I got really excited about it. I love Flamessekers and Charadrons, but I miss chaos dwarves too much, especially after seeing a new bloodbowl team.
I'm loving your explanations for good allies. Thank you!

Great Introduction. Really need to finally start painting my golems!
Thanks! They are awesome models to paint to boot!

@ sounds like a solid start for a scheme :)
Can’t beat having more of the good stuff
I just finished my golems yesterday. Really looking forward to this!
I love me some Iron Golems.
I'll say that this looks like a pretty strong warband on paper. Decent wounds and attacks, but average move.
@@shockerck4465 They have some stellar units. Very interesting warband and one of the best bespokes

I was wishing that the Fomoroide was a cool ally option for the Iron Golems, I am painting mine in the same scheme.

@@roynaga Sounds like a plan to me!
Great video, but is the starter box just totally worthless? There's no good builds with just that box alone?

Way back when warcry came out I split a box with a guy, I got the Iron Golems. I wouldn't have the first clue how to get back into Warcry

How would you say the battle trait update impacted their overall viability?

Isn't the dwarf baddie only toughness 4? Not 5. Unless it changed.

Is it just me, or Armator is od dwarwish origin?
Armator is most certainly a dwarf - a Chaos Dwarf!

Chaos Dwarfs are long overdue some representation for sure!
