Big fan of the Mawpack here. Fun to paint easy to assemble and are absolute beasts on the board. Their sheer size intimidates other players. Have played with and against them and it is fun either was. I am going to try to ally the Bloodpelt Hunter, who just got his WarCry stats in April, to get a little more range on attacks. Nice video.
They are loads of fun, and players who aren’t prepared for the smash often get intimidated and overwhelmed by them despite the warbands weaknesses. I am a huge fan of the Bloodpelt, although I haven’t tested them out in Mawpack. I can imagine she is a beast though!
I appreciate the recommendations for allies, got some vague conversions planned to make them all match nicely together :) Also I think the cave howler model is intended to be a woman, making her the only one in the whole destruction faction atm, since the old female ogor is no longer in production.
I often buy doubles of bespoke warbands, as i play narrative capaigns where the roster grows a lot. But, I am wondering if thats even remotely necessary here. Can you see any plausible listbuilding reasons to double up on this warband, barring campaign play?
Honestly, not really? You might want two clawbacks for some lists I guess. But this is very self contained and works wonderfully without needing any additional thing s
That is correct, but since they are Bladeborn they can be used in any Destruction Warband provided you take their Leader. In this case, that’s Hrothgorn. So you get the double whammy of cheap chaff AND a powerful ranged leader. Pretty sweet
Hi, great video. I see that you add attack dice or damage to fighters profile… I find nowhere in the rules how to do that 😣 is it for a special type of play?
Love the idea behind adding Hrothgorn's Mantrappers for a brutally competitive list. Just wish getting my hands on that warband wasn't so expensive - lowest I'm seeing them run on eBay is about $80 average :/. Still, one-box only definitely seems great, especially in light of how much folks were talking down on the Gorgers when stats came out.
Hrothgorn is scalped to no end sadly and is a nightmare to get hold of. Sadly it really is a case of biting the bullet and buying him if you want him, which sucks beyond belief
While their toughness is a big draw back - it makes them a more balanced Elite Warband when going up against Swarming Warband e.g. Hunters of Huanchi because the swarm has some fight against the Ogres when compared to other Elite or high toughness warbands like Iron Golems or SCE
Trueblades are quite a challenge to play and Gorgers are incredibly powerful. My advice would be to focus on one at a time. All a Gorger to get in, then take it out with everything you can. Another tip would be to be constantly aware of their threat range. If you are within 11” they can move, charge, and attack. If you can straddle that 12” line and force them to commit to an engagement without being able to attack, you can then dogpile. Gorgers hit hard and are very fast but they are made of paper.

That’s really cool. I had no idea
Wasn’t that female just a maneater in drag?
@@Fezzik312 no, apparently the old WhFB lore for her was she wore a fake beard, it was an optional bit

Can’t wait to play these!
They are a lot of fun! Had a blast running them
Is this a valid list though? Quiv and Bushwakka don't have any of the runemarks that allow them to be used on Gorger Mawpack (hero, ally)... Right?

@@wargamesontoast Ah, I wasn’t aware of that. Awesome! I shall try this as soon as I finish building the gorger!
@@ricardojsfer No problem! Good luck, bud!
Oooooh-ho-ho-ho we had the same idea mate!!! But yeah, maybe dont bring hrothgorn to a demo game or a narrative campain😂😂. Keep it up
Hroth would be quite a mean introduction!

They are called ‘Blessings’ and you can find the rules for them in White Dwarf 490 I believe :)
Thanks mate 😘

I like how they're unrelenting monsters and seem to play like that as well
Their theme and mechanics go hand in hand perfectly, for sure

I totally agree. Keeps them in check
How do beat these guys 😅 I play Askurgan Trueblades and is rather new, but I get wrekt every time.

That intro 😍😍
And outro. That's a damn fine hat on a damn fine man 🔥
Gotta keep the mop covered
Careful, I’m a married man
@@wargamesontoast bet your wife is great
Feel like there should be a rule that your warband must have more fighters from your chosen faction than any other allied factions.
I think the occurrence is so few and far between that limiting it just stifles the small amount of creativity it allows…but that might just be me!
Bro cool video
Thanks bro
Commenting for fun.
OMG Brewgit's +3 Atks on a gorger lol
Gorger with Great Club, Clawback, or Howler are hilarious with it. Although all the Gorgers LOVE Brewgit
A pop filter? What about the plosive enjoyers? Lol
They have to suffer
Have you played with them? How many times?
Of course! I have played them 5 times as of recording.
@@wargamesontoast That is awesome! Thanks!
