  • What you'll see in this video is a Tesla Model S p85+ range test, done purely on the highway. During this entire test, I drove 60-70mph using Autopilot. In the beginning, the car started with 250 miles to empty and when we got done driving, how many miles we drove and how many miles there was left on the battery was rather shocking. Watch this entire video to find out!

My nerves are so bad. The first time you stopped I would have recharged at the 122 miles left over :) I applaud you for nerves of steal. I want to purchase a pre-loved Tesla P85-P90D by 2021 next year.

What was the milage on the model s at the time of this test?
Seems like 12-13% degredation since 2014 so like 2-3% a year!

I feel like the auto pilot enabled would affect the battery life but I’m not sure how extensively?

it actually uses less battery on autopilot, much more efficient with engine revving and regenerating based on exactly when computer says to vs a person guessing as best they can. I get over 400 wh/mi driving on my own and can get under 300 wh/mi driving on autopilot

    What's the real battery capacity?

Try to drive normally, 5 miles over the speed limit to see how much the range is on the highway. I usually do 9 miles over the speeding limit and I was wondering if I get Tesla would I like it? Cause I sure don’t want to drive 65 on 70:)

Ruslan Abbasov that’s a good idea, I’ll have to get my hands on a Model S again and try it!

Looking at a white or a red p85+, then I seen your name is Chris, I think the car is telling me something

That’s really slow, try moving to a different stall number.

it is slow, but it is an older tesla, and topping off is the SLOWEST time. from 5-90% will take same time as 90%-100% because the extra heat and battery management to allow the bsttery to accept full charge

250 miles quickly becomes 215 miles over the years and 215 miles is honestly not acceptable. I think for practicality and peace of mind, 350--400 has to be the floor

if you’re charging daily, 215 is definitely livable.
