My best friend found this cat (Bubba she named him), took him in and he blended well with her cats. She had him scanned when he first arrived for a chip, but it came back negative. Fast forward about 4 years, and she was moving to another state, and wanted to get all 9 (yes 9) of her cats vaccinated and checked over before the roadtrip. Well, when Bubba was in they did a thorough checkup and everything, and found a weird lump on his back leg. Turned out it was a chip (in a strange spot). They scanned it, and called the owner. Yeah often microchips can migrate because in some individuals, their immune system tries to expel it and in doing so they can end up in some of the strangest places! Amazing the cat has been missing for so many years, obviously his family really loved him. I hope this is the case for Molly as well. I have heard of cats going on”walk about”. I have one that did that 19 years ago. He would be 21. His sister lived just short of that… Always loved, remembered and hoped for.

I loved the story of Molly Murder Mittens. Barn cats never had a more caring owner. We have a cat who showed up in Nov 2014 and stayed, a handsome orange tabby. We neutered him and he's still here, though he's mostly blind now. My husband was a confirmed cat-hater, but the cat attached himself to my husband like a leach and now, they are inseparable. His name is Finn, as in Huckleberry Finn. I call him my LGC, Livestock Guardian Cat. Thank you for this video on a day when I"m sick in bed for the first time in over 20 years. ~Cynthia
I hope this video is a helpful part of your healing process. I believe in my heart, she is still alive living at someone’s house. We recently added to our place, two barn cats, that we got from our local pet adoption center. And in honor of your Molly, we named one of our cats “Molly Murder Mittens”. Her legacy will live on forever 🐾🐾 Thank you for honoring her memories with this video ❤
This makes me sad. I hope you found a home somewhere MMM. We once lived with a cat who led a double life. He was indoor/outdoor with us yet indoor only with a family 2 blocks down the street. We only know because we would see him in the window. The other people insisted he was their cat, yet if he got out and we called, he'd come running home to us. We shared him for years. So I hope Molly is living with someone now.
I had been putting off watching the original video of Molly because at the time, my cat Moby was showing signs of age and deterioration. Now he has passed just only a month ago, and I'm still grieving heavily. His death even resurfaced my grief for my childhood dog, Katie so I've been really missing having a furry best friend. I'm crying right along with you Morgan. This was a beautiful send off video to the beloved cat companion, Molly Murder Mittens! I do hope you share your cat story one day in written form.
I watched this video a few days ago and was determined not to cry... I cried. This video is a great tribute to Molly Murder Mittens, who was a great barn cat and a sweet furry friend. Thank you for sharing Molly with us. May you find comfort in the memories of her adventures. Damn it, here come the tears again.
As a child my beloved cat Joey disappeared for a year. I was bereft. Time went by and I healed my heart but I never stopped looking out for him just maybe…. Then suddenly he appeared a couple of years later. I was overjoyed of course but it wasn’t the same he had adopted a new family and his loyalty was to them. I gradually got used to seeing him around but I knew he wasn’t my cat anymore. I learn a hard lesson. I grew up and moved to a new neighborhood that had a huge feral cat population. I poured myself into trapping them and taking them to the vets for spaying and neutering. When healed, releasing them back into the wild making sure they all had a full belly and a safe place to sleep.
“Molly awoke feeling tired and listless. She had hoped it was not the signal that the time to move on was approaching. But this was the third morning in a row. It was all too familiar. She gazed wistfully upon her beloved farm. There was Ginny, perched in her window. Would she be immortal too? Fond memories danced and swirled as she soaked in the morning sun. ‘No one will understand what happened, and I will never forget.’” ✨😻✨
"As she prepared to continue on her never ending journey, she quietly sat, hidden from sight. She watched as her beloved farmer called for her, continuing to put out food for her.. She had been a part of many many farms. She loved working on farms, but farmers typically were not particularly sentimental about their 'farm cats', unlike living in a home where people formed a bond with her. She liked those humans but had never really felt as strongly towards them as they had towards her. She always felt bad for them when she left but never really felt entirely sad to go, either. She had never been in a place quite like this. She had never been on a farm where the farmer took such good care of her. She found that she loved him as much as he loved her. As she sat there, watching him look for her, she wanted more than anything to go to him, reassure and comfort him. However, she had to move on. She would miss this place. She would miss him. She would miss all of them. They were her family and would be forever more, no matter where she was."
"Not a cat person" he keeps saying. 😆But, come on, you genuinely adore all animals, even those you're allergic to. 😁 Sending hugs-we all miss the lovely presence of Molly Murder Mittens. I like to think she's discovered a new home with an elderly lady who needed her affection and her skills in rodent control. Hugs always
She sure was a sweet cat. Felines are often thought of as independent and aloof, but she broke the stereotype with her cuddles and purrs. Thanks for creating this loving tribute to a beloved co-worker and family member. RIP Mollywobbles
Thank You Morgan for sharing the Wonders of Molly Murder Mittens. Your grief was palpable. And, I found myself shedding a few tears. I only wish for the continued happiness, and good health of Pablo & Ginny. And, of course to Toby & Abby. ❤
Molly murder mittens as an immortal cat going from home to home is a beautiful thought and feeling. I’m gonna go with this one. ❤ cats have always been spiritual and wise for me. ….Loved this tribute. I totally forgot thou on how much she fought with Ginny, maybe she said “F” this and decided to claim a new territory. My intuition tells me shes not dead or hurt.
Bless you Morgan. You say you are not a cat person, but if you are not, you are clearly a loving person and that is all that counts. I miss Molly too. She was a wonderful little soul, and I like to imagine she is still out there giving love to someone else. It is never easy when your pets just go missing and you are left to wonder what happened. Thank you so much for making this video. It really helped with my grief over her loss. I hope it helped you as well.
Thank you for this video, my oldest cat, was twenty-one years old and had severe kidney disease. She never complained until the morning she died a couple of weeks ago. She was a delight, the nicest cat I have owned. I have a former barn cat who has saved this house from fire and flood and is better than any guard dog and her black kitten who I call 'murder kitten'. I kept her because people have an irrational fear of black cats. Wishing you and everybody here a very Happy Christmas xxx
I totally sobbed my with you, especially when you said “I think of my dogs and cats as coworkers, but the truth is they’re my family.” Thank you for sharing immortal Molly! ❤
Once in a lifetime cats stay in our hearts. My youngest son (18 yrs) has almost no interest in what I watch- but the name Molly Murder Mittens got him to check out my viewings
I am a pure grade-A sucker for good critter stories; and you tell them so well. I am a cat person, and in various neighborhoods I've lived in, everyone around knew it and used to make me "presents" of unfortunate cats. So I've been the personal body-servant to many, many cats. These days at the age of 70, I'm down to 4 cats, 4 dogs, two turtles and my grandson's 2 goldfish. Anyone who has had relationships with critters always have the "Special Ones" that live in the heart as avatars for all of the other individuals of the species that they belong to. For most of us humans, when we take in a critter we know that in general, we will outlive the animal and will be subject to a broken heart. But it's OK, as the love between us and our critters will heal the break and allow us to love anew. But, oooooh, those Special Ones! They never truly leave us.... XOXO 😻
My cousin has a barn cat named Betty Sue and she’ll be turning 14 this coming April. She’s so shy, but she means the world to us. Starting off with two sisters, now we just have her. Her sister which we did not name disappeared one day. Betty Sue is definitely part of the family. And she grew up with a dog named Tonto and they are only a month apart. ❤ Special memories!
Stay positive...I had one of my barn cats disappear for over a month. I thought a fox or coyote had gotten her. At the time, I still had 4 other barn cats. I gave up looking for her, but about a month and a half later, she turned up out of nowhere. She was just as healthy as can be. I took her to the vet, and they looked her over. She got a clean bill of health. I still have her today. She is terror on wheels, when it comes to mice, rats, voles, and moles. Her name is Maggie. I have a 287 acre farm down here in South Alabama, and my cats wreak havoc on vermin. I also have 3 patterdale terriers that destroy rats and mice too. I say all of this to tell you not to lose hope. There is still that possibility that she will return. Stay positive. I'm a dog lover, but cats will grow on you, as they give you time and affection. I raise chickens, ducks, guineas, goats, and black angus cows. I also have 2 horses. When you have all this feed for livestock, it'll attract rodents. So barn cats are definitely a must for me. Keep the FAITH, you just never know that she might pop back up in the future.❤
I'm still hoping Molly is just hanging around someone else's property for a spell, and like you said, one day she may show up out of the blue, it wouldn't surprise me. Happy Holidays 🎄🎉
Molly will live forever because she is remembered by all of us. She was a special cat and a valuable farmworker as well as a member of your family. Now I need to go wipe the tears from my face and hug my cats........I hope your holidays are merry and I wish everyone at Gold Shaw Farm a brighter new year in 2024. 🎄💖
This was a very honest, well-made video; and genuinely thank you for sharing. My Condolences go out to you for Molly, its a hard situation to come to terms with most certainly. Take solace in the fact that you gave this cat an excellent life and cherish the fond memories she made for you. Through this video, she lives on in spirt and legend. 🐈
This tribute to Molly was beautifully done. We've watched her grow into an important and very much loved member of your family. She was beautiful and talented. She is very missed. Thank you for putting this together. I hope it was as therapeutic for you as it felt to the rest of us.
This was such a beautiful reflection on the life of the lovely Molly Murder Mittens. This is a fitting tribute and does her memory honor. I love the idea of her out there living another life too.
Great people, great animals, great farm, and a great channel to see it all on. They only occupy a part of our lives, but we are there for just about their entire lives. Thank you for caring about and being so kind to your animals and doing the best you can for them.
I love barn cats! They’re extra appreciative 🥰 We just lost ours called Rat Cat - best ratter, best momma. She was in her late teens (very old for a barn cat!) and had different colored eyes, long hair and no teeth left. Rest in peace, old girl! 💔 And Molly too❤
I am not a cat person, but I almost cried watching this even though I've already seen most if her story at your farm. I'm sorry she never got back to you. Do that story, it sounds like something she would do. 💜
There is absolutely nothing wrong about voicing that you are missing Molly Murder Mittens. She will always be missed, and never be forgotten. I am glad you have the other barn cats and the dogs to help you keep steady. They are a blessing to have when you need that little extra bit of strength. Hugs to you!
I have indoor cats and they usually live a long life. Every time I have to say goodbye at the end of their lives, it is so difficult. I lost my 20-year-old cat Bogart last year in October. I had him since he was a kitten. They are family. You don't own a cat. You are their guardian, their friend, their adoptive parent but you never own a cat. You are now officially a cat person. It is a great honor to be a cat person, so enjoy it. Cats work their way into your heart and you don't even realize you fell for them until it's too late. Happy Holidays and thank you for sharing your story about Molly with us. I know it must have been so hard for you. Much love to you and your wife from Wisconsin!
We all loved Molly. 🐈 I have my 17 feral cat's that I feed.. I don't see them all the time...some hardly at all. I do the best for them with shelter & food. I give love to the ones that on their terms want it. I know since they live out in the world we can't protect them.. I know what it feels like when one is gone never to return.😢.....Life goes on Morgan & we morn their passing & we rejoice the special time they loved us.. ❤💯 🙋🏼♀️🐈🐕🌟🎄
Oh my heart. What a beautiful full length tribute to Molly and The Barn Cats. It’s like a time capsule that leads us up to date. Thank you for making this. 🌈🐾
Oh my goodness - i was crying with you my friend ❤ biggest of hugs (or whatever your love language is) to you and Alison ❤ I'm sure Mistress Murder Mittens knew she was loved xx
Dude! This was so fun and beautiful a tribute! I love the review of her entire life, and the contrast between her winning the title Barn Cat of the Year and disappearing was poignant! Dang! You made me cry again! I remembered Molly hissing at Ginny after Ginny was fixed, but it's interesting to see that Ginny did the same to Molly when she got fixed! So probably it IS a change in smell that makes them wonder "Hey! Who are you?!"
You’re a cat person after all. Thank you for sharing this love story between you and Ms. Molly. We’re not promised tomorrow, but what a sweet story nonetheless.
I love the name Molly Murder Mittens. If I ever get a 3rd cat, that is what I will name her. She lived up to her name, too. She will greet you in heaven-for sure! Love like that always brings your pets to you when you pass over. I have listened to a lot of NDEs and even a lot with pets. She is your cat forever.
It's great to see someone advocating with actual video proof, that a cat doesn't have to have a litter of kittens or not properly fed, to want to hunt. Spayed and neutered cats are great hunters and for anyone looking for farm cats, often Rescues will give spayed/neutered cats that cannot be litter traind to farms for free, given they will be properly cared for (vaccinations, fed, etc.). I free feed my neutered cats, they keep in lovely condition here on the farm and they are excellent hunters. Sorry for your loss of Molly.
My beautiful old boy was scheduled for a vet visit the next day because I thought he didn’t quite look himself. That Sunday night he got up from lying in front of the fire, turned to look at me one last night, went outside to do his nightly ablutions. Never saw him again, my whole family spent weeks coming the neighbourhood looking under every bush. Nothing, broke my heart, that was twenty years ago still makes me tear up.
He left because he didn’t want to pass in front of you. They’re very considerate like that. Your baby loves you still. He did what he thought would hurt you least. Had it happen many times
I am balling my eyes out, Morgan. As a cat perspn myself, seeing you being so vulnerable and crying for Molly touches me. After watching this beautiful tribute, I can assure you... you are a cat person.
Morgan , thank you for sharing this tribute to molly murder mittens. she is missed. condolences. May the new year bring health and prosperity to your farm and family and critters and friends.
That smile @1:25 says all anyone needs to know about the love you had for MMM. Sad she's gone, I know how it hurts to lose a loved one 😿 My heart breaks for your sadness.
This was a very heart warming video in how your story with your cats has gone full circle. I have to admit the more I heard “ I’m not a cat person” I can see how close you have gotten with them. Animals can do that to you. Thanks for your video!
Oh I am so sorry about the loss of Molly. You are such a amazing person. Our fur babies are our family no matter what others may think. Like you I had never liked cats only dogs. We had a cat show up my husband threw mice out and we found out she was getting them. So she kept coming to our deck door and we would feed her. Then a month later little did we know she had had kittens in a barn next door. So she brings 5 of them and from then on love at first sight. I fell so much in love with them. They were feral even she was still feral after hard work and playing feeding them they learned my trust some what. Now since its cold they are all in the house and what a joy they have brought to me. I love everyone of them and they trust us even more now. Except for one that looks like your little one. She won't come and let us pet her. Like you my black one is my favorite and I think if anything would happen to him or any of them I to would be devastated. You gave her a good home and lots of love never forget that part. She knew it no doubt. May you have a blessed holiday and thoughts and prayers are with you.❤❤❤
Wonderful tribute to Molly Murder Mittens!! ❤❤❤❤ Sending best wishes for a Happy Solstice ☀️🌛, Merry Christmas🎄 and a Happy New Year 🎆🎇🥂to you, Allison, your family, and, flocks and herd!
Okay so I'm new to this channel and now I'm crying because of a cat I met just over an hour ago. Did not expect that ending, but I hope she went to a nice place
Morgan- I am a cat person. After the loss of my entire family, my cats became my family. My "soul kitty" helped me so much during that period. Sadly she got cancer & had to be euthanized, Her loss hit me so bad it took years for me to live without her. Cats keep appearing in my life and become part of my family. When my fiancee was killed, both of her cats became mine. Sadly one of them is now gone., but not forgotten. As I write this, my most recent cat who adopted me is on my lap, and her surviving cat is sleeping. At 20+ years old, his time, and mine are both limited, as we both have the same organ failures. I hope to outlive both of them, and be reunited with my "cat family" when I pass on. I have some great stories of all of them.
I love this story, you have such a big warm heart Morgan, God Blessed you, obviously. your vet missed something, whatever she missed killed poor Molly, and she went off to die somewhere, poor baby
There may not have been anything to miss. Some illnesses are very difficult to detect early, and even if the veterinarian ran all the typical diagnostic tests, sometimes the results aren’t significant enough to indicate anything potentially serious. I say this as both a pet owner and a veterinary technician who’s worked in an ER/ICU hospital for nearly 10 years. A lot of times owners know when something is wrong with their pet even if they aren’t showing any obvious symptoms; it’s because of several reasons: 1. Animals, especially cats, are stoic, especially at the vet (the number of times cats and dogs are magically cured by the short ride to the vet hospital…) 2. Owners KNOW their animals; they pick up on small changes in behaviors, personality, and appearance that we as veterinary staff might not because we aren’t familiar with what is normal for that animal. 3. The owner/pet parent spends far more time around the animal: A Vet Tech/Assistant at an ER hospital might spend 20 or 30 minutes directly interacting with a non-hospitalized patient, and a Veterinarian between 5-15 minutes for the initial exam depending on what the presenting complaint is and how sick or injured they are assessed to be when they arrive. I know it’s difficult, but sometimes there really is no one and nothing at fault for an animal passing except the injury or disease.
RIP MOLLY MURDER ❤❤!!! I'm so sorry for your loss Morgan. Molly is a Legend. I think an old lady found her. You are a cat person. You are good to your animals, even the ones you harvest. I can't wait to read your book about Molly. We love you Morgan. I hope you and Allison and your critters have a Blessed Holiday.❤❤❤😢😢😢
You have honored the memory of Molly Murder Mittens with such love and respect…these little four pawed friends have a way of wrapping their little paws around our hearts forever…our condolences.
You are doing the right thing by looking for Molly upstairs. Im so sorry how much this hurts. She may have accidentally gotten in the back of someone's truck and be on her way back. If shes injured and someone takes her to the vet, they will scan her for a chip and call you. Molly loves you and the farm. If she can come home she will. It wouldnt hurt to visit the nearst farms and ask if she wandered over to their houses. Wishing you the best.
Write your story in honor of Molly Murder Mittens. I am a senior that adopts senior kitties. Yes it hurts when they cross the rainbow bridge. You have her memories. God speed as you move thru your pain.
I have to admit, I haven't watched one of your videos in a while, so I wasn't aware of Molly's disappearance. But having watched this, I would like to thank you for a good cry, a well-told tale, and an eloquent summary of her life and legend. Viva Molly Murder Mittens. We had cats come and go on my parents's farm, and when one disappeared, it was always hard. Sort of the glory of the farm cat was that people would dump their cats and they would show up at the farm. Universal cat redistribution and all that. To whatever end, I am sorry for your loss, and the farm's loss. You are a cat person, and a dog person, and a bird person, and a good person over all. Happy holidays to you and your lovely wife, and all the denizens of Gold Shaw Farm.
Very powerful and emotional story. As a cat, farm, pet owner as well, I feel your pain Morgan. Cats are fragile but have an incredible ability to survive out in a farm. Like your farm, I live surrounded by woods and coyotes which I know could easily take one of my cats away. It’s amazing how a little fragile animal is so capable of living near these dangers. I too have experienced cats getting taken by predators or getting sick and perishing. It hurts so much when it happens but unfortunately is the way of life. It is nice that you could spread Mollys story to all your supporters on UA-cam to keep her story alive. The legend of Molly Murder Mittens won’t be forgotten.
I listened to this and watched the great shots of the cats all day. I was driving but had several long waits. This was a great reveiw, a wonderful post.
Thank you so much for putting this video together of Molly Murder Mittens for all of us the “World” to see. I’m numb and so sad she had to leave you and all of us. For what ever reason she left or was just unable to come back home…. She was well loved and cared for and you can’t ask for more than that!! Thank you also for showing your raw emotions for all to see. To me that just shows what A sincere loving human you truly are!! I LOVED her too. Just like I love all of Gold Shaw Farm. Thank you again! With love from Kathy Washington State🇺🇸👋🏻
In honor of Molly Murder Mittens, you are a cat person. You loved her with all your heart! My condolences and may your memories of her remain strong; as she forged a new path in your heart!

Anytime the cats headbutt the camera = digital boop 🐱
Not as easy as you think because not only was Molly a barn cat but she was also a pet.
She'll always be in our hearts THE LEGEND OF MOLLY MURDER MITTENS 😢 and BIG OUNCE both left something bitter in our hearts 💕
Morgan I cant believe you were able to edit this video together…I would be bawling…kudos, man. 💚❤️
I agree. That must have been a tough job.
We miss Molly but she ascended to become a legend 💖Happy holidays to you and Allison, I can't wait for more Gold Shaw content in 2024
also ginny was so small and cute as a kitten😭
Lovely tribute. Thanks for sharing her with us all, Morgan. Fly high, Molly Wobbles, wherever you are 🌈 ❤
Molly Murder Mittens... you will be missed but, never forgotten...
I forgot how small and cute lil' was😍
I’m so happy Ginny is still there to make you laugh I busted out laughing at the end😂
What a wonderful tribute to dear Molly Barn Cat. She was a good kitty❤
Aww seeing Ginny on your shoulder as a tiny kitten ❤❤
She survives in many a human's mind. A good kitty.
Yup I had a cat disappear for a year!
You may not be a cat person but you are a Molly person. Thank you so much for giving her all your love and care. To Molly Murder Mittens❤
I am proud that I bought a Molly murder mittens T-shirt. I will continue to wear it in her honor! Long live her legend!
She is immortal because you will always remember her with love ❤️ She was honored to protect your farm and teach you that you are a “cat person.”
I really miss Molly but she was a well loved cat ....and she was well loved by all who loves cats and I am one of those who Loves cats
I love the idea of her out there living another life too.
man. sorry for loss to your family. i feel for you. ❤
You are so much a cat person now. Happens to the best of us. Welcome to the club of reluctant cat people! Hang in there my friend.
Nothing feral about your cats, they are working members of your farm. Beautiful
Very tender tribute to Ms Molly. They come into our lives with laughter and leave with tears.
May Miss Molly Mittens and Biggerton Ouncerton play in Heaven for eternity! ❤😢
Two legends. One a cold blooded killer ... the other a massive doofus. They will both be missed. They'll both be waiting to kick Kevin's ass.
Molly is probably still alive.
It’s always sad when a favorite animal is gone but I loved this video. 4 Gold Stars🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
❤ Thank you, Morgan, a beautiful tribute to Molly. ❤
Morgan - Best video ever.
Me - Most smiling and sobbing ever.
What an amazing tribute to a gorgeous kitty.
Much love and happy holidays to you and yours.
❤ from The Cat Inn in WI.
We all loved Molly. 🐈
I have my 17 feral cat's that I feed..
🙋🏼♀️🐈🐕🌟🎄
RIP Molly murder mittens ♥️.
She's likely still alive.
@@zephyrwlf they do have 9 lives....
Love this Molly was loved and lived a good life im so glad she was loved by you great story thanks for sharing Molly with us
May I wish all at Gold Shaw farm a Merry Christmas and a Happy New year. Also to every person who visits here. 💕
So sorry she’s missing. It’s so hard with cats, especially with never knowing. Here’s hope she still comes back.
Rip M.M.M. 💜 I lost my Nuttzy last March. They are our family
As long as Ginny is on your farm, you'll always have a piece of Molly Murder Mittens close by
Okay so I'm new to this channel and now I'm crying because of a cat I met just over an hour ago. Did not expect that ending, but I hope she went to a nice place
Awww...she was a great cat and most definitely a legend.
Morgan- I am a cat person. After the loss of my entire family, my cats became my family. My "soul kitty" helped me so much during that period. Sadly she got cancer & had to be euthanized,
Her loss hit me so bad it took years for me to live without her.
Miss you Molly…wherever you may be. Merry Christmas GSF
I miss this cat so much. Even when I’m not watching your videos, I think about how cool that cat was.
Hey Morgan!!!
Psst you're a cat person, my dude! Such a beautiful tribute to Miss Molly Murder Mittens. Her legend will never die! ❤❤
Thank you so much and for always watching!
Thank you so much for putting this video together of Molly Murder Mittens for all of us the “World” to see. I’m numb and so sad she had to
leave you and all of us. For what ever reason she left or was just unable to come back home…. She was well loved and cared
for and you can’t ask for more than that!!
Thank you also for showing your raw emotions for all to see. To me that just shows what
A sincere loving human you truly
are!! I LOVED her too. Just like I love all of Gold Shaw Farm.
Thank you again!
With love from
Kathy
