"Remember why we got into playing bass in the first place." "Coz my band already had two guitar players." Probably my favourite line in the whole video
"Thats three tracks with no hammer-on's!" For some reason I found this too funny. Also the dude in the yellow t-shirt, his reaction to the guy's bass riff was classic. Pure emotion. Whole sketch was piss funny. Loved it.
One time, I was walking around town with my girlfriend when I noticed a show flyer. I went over to see who was playing. I was in three of the four bands on the bill for that Saturday. It was Wednesday. No one thought to tell me about it.
The thing that peeves me the most is when someone asks you what you play, and when you say bass, they just look confused and say " So you play a guitar? "
This is where you know you just have to cut off all musical conversation with this person. They don't have/are ignorant of the fundamental understanding required to have it.
People thoroughly underestimate how difficult it is and how draining it can be, without even throwing the physical nature of the instrument on the table.
Of course bassists are important! _Someone_ has to move all that equipment, and pick up the guitarist’s dry cleaning. And make sure the singer’s water bottles are filled and ready. Drummers can’t remember all that!
I love this! Absolutely hilarious! We don't get much respect but those jerkoffs sure do miss us when we aren't there! Bass is the source! We are the glue that holds it all together! I am a bass player by CHOICE! The bass called to me many years ago! Thank you to the bass God STEVE HARRIS who inspired me to play! ♡♡
Nonsense. I can't hold on to a pick to save my life, David...but I play in the pocket, and can step out when necessary...I have been doing this for 43 years, and am still kicking it after a stroke which affected my left side. Being able to use a pick or not doesn't enter into it :) It's all about serving the song, and locking up with the drummer Robert
@@Fretless99 being able to use as much techniques as possible opens you up. You miss a whole world of tone by not being able to play with a pick. But to each their own ;)
@@maximiliangfrorer1039 Having the physical ability also enters into it. I do agree with your comment regarding misswng 'worlds of tone' without a pick; bur I don't feel I'm missing out that much. I use my fingternails to play , and so get pretty much the same result All the best to you, Max
@@Fretless99 it's not only the timbre of hard material hitting the strings. It's also the angle. The palm muting. Check Bobby Vega, for example, it's not just a rock or metal thing either. If you don't want to have those possibilities, to each their own - but to just flat out decline is not the way in my humble opinion Robert :)

OMG, this is funny. I'm not a bass player but can relate... HOLY CRAP! Isn't that bass player, Garrett, the dude who plays on the Tostitos commercial? The one who follows the bag around the party...?
Hilarious! I love it! Exactly how I got the job.
Applies to Paul McCartney as well!
Way too true
My girlfriend is a bass player any advise how I can help support her growth and development any advise would be helpful
@@connorcollister9069 You are joking, right? Show her this video!
"I took a girl back with me to my assisted living home-" *bass slap*
"You know, less strings" *has a five-stringed bass*
That's still less than 6
I also like how their shirts were of bands who have notable bass playing like Rush, Tool, or Primus
Nobody mentioned Jaco...

Do you know what notes are used for the riff my friend
The background music is an acoustic guitar. 4/10
An acoustic bass*

Realest comment I've ever seen. You speak the truth.
:(
fake, bassists can't have girlfriends
BUT that can also be spun around to be perceived as you being notably popular : )
Omg🙁
I want to see an all-bass band 😂😍
look up Bassinvaders
look up Freebass (The Smiths/New Order/Stone Roses bass players)
Look up SMV (Stanley Clarke, Marcus Miller, and Victor Wooten)
They exist, but no one cares.
GATECHIEN ua-cam.com/video/qCFg-opFIi8/v-deo.html
ok there is just one bass player and a drummer ^^
"Every single time... guys we talked about this before! No one wants to see an all bass band."
Also crippling isolation lol
One of the funniest videos I've seen in a long time. Being a bass player is a tough life :(
I’m a bassist and this is the funniest thing I have watched in recent memory.

The bass guitar *_is_* a guitar.
“No one asked you to check out Death Chariot”
Loved it. Thank you
A pick is a powerful tool that should not be neglected
by guitarists
Haha a powerful `Tool`
See cause Justin Chancellor uses a pick and he`s in Tool...
Well I`ll leave then.
- Everyone knows that real bass players don't play with a pick ...
- Why don't you say that to my face ! xD
Was expecting a Jason Newsted cameo
"No one wants to hear an all-bass band."
The Omnific: "Hold my beer....."
The pre-discussion noodling in this and College Humor's Mark Hoppus video are the truest of any of the cliches.
The part about the pick gets me every time 🤣🤣👍🏿
Loved it! Do a sequel or even a whole series. I want to see the Lowriders band play!
This is the greatest, how did it take 5 years to pop into my feed.
Brilliant sketch! Their other sketches are really funny as well, it is a shame these guys don't get more views.
Would've been even more amazing if the background music was played on bass only :)
I am a guitar player and i dont care who hears me say this...the bass player is the most important dude in the band.
You shouldn't care because it's true. Followed by drums.

ERIC F Bad day?
🙄
Possibly the funniest skit about musicians I've seen on UA-cam 😂
Garrett reminds me of a Zach Galifianakis character
Best video I’ve watched during quarantine
Is there actually places like this i need this lool
I just stumbled upon this channel, golden comedy.
Perfect comedy for Bass Players! I gotta say the video is great! As funny as Spinal Tap? I say YES!
I spotted a Rush, Primus, and TOOL shirt. Too funny
I chuckled so hard, my ribs are hurting now. *lol*
This is hilarious
Never thought to see Soup here! (Though 3 years ago). Hope you're having a great 2021 man.
There actually was an all-bass band called Freebass
this entire video is a mood
That dude with the yellow shirt had me rolling 😂😂
Genuinely I started playing bass cuz I fell in love with the instrument
Thank god im the singer and the bass player for my band 😂
Well then you're not an unappreciated bass player man.
Where are the meetings taking place? Wanna send my buddy Glenn Fricker to liven things up a bit
as a guitarist this shits funny
"No one wants to see an all bass band"
The Omnific almost disagrees.
You are producing some quality stuff! Keep em coming.

This is the most underrated video of all time
Give me the all bass band and give it to me now! 🤣 I'd love that.
Anyone who says "real bass players don't use picks" probably has never heard of (or appreciated) Chris Squire.
Or Roger Glover, for that matter. He uses picks, and he's easily one of the most insanely talented bass players I've ever seen and/or heard!
most ironic part is that it has guitar background music!!!

Shaking my damned head.

Seven Nation Army....Can you hear the bass now?
video about bass players
*Has guitar background music*
Great stuff!
the screaming hand was on my santa cruz skateboard in the mid 80;s.

Somebody please send this to Glenn Fricker!
"He can't hurt you here".
That first bass riff is hilarious
Reality 101! Otherwise my fav moment is “I hate (bass) bromance!” LOL
Im gonna start a support group for bass players who play with picks
So accurate. (I play the bass as well)
One word. Omnific.
The part about Flea 🤣🤣🤣
Heavy metal hitchhiker
Jason Newsted needs this class
thank you
Ahem......:
Didn’t mention Les Claypool?
1:25 nice
Too much reality for comfort. Hilarious!!
There aren't enough support groups for important causes like AA and NA. Where is this that they have musician support groups?
this is actually accurate
Garret needs me.
Baaaahahshahaaarghh!!! Yes!!! So fucking awesome!
Okay that’s cool and all but why do their guitars have only 4 or 5 strings?🤔🤷🏻♂️
I play bass for one reason and one reason only, BEER TOKENS!
Absolutely hilarious 😆
I noticed: The Video is 420 long
I love Garrett
Me: *carries bass around in school*
People: *”i like your guitar man! Why is it bigger than your friend’s guitar though?”*
dallon weekes thought this was funny
2:30 "That's what i'm saying. Am I even IN this band?" :D Yes, Dallon, you are.
Would it be nice to use a bass instead of acoustic guitar as a background music?
You need this if you're in Metallica. lol
Same amount of people in there
so accurate
Epic
For the chicks! Haha. Obviously a guitarist wrote this skit. Too funny
garret needs a different kind of support group
