Robbie, I just saw my first hummingbird for this season. I am so excited. I put my feeders out 13 days ago and have been changing the water regularly, and i am so glad that I did. I am so glad you teach us how to make these. I put out several bird baths last year with solar pumps because you inspired me. I plan on putting out more this year. ❤😊😊❤
Always happy to get a new video from you Robbie❤ Thank you always. Put my feeders out yesterday and a couple today. No hummingbirds in North Texas yet, but I’m ready! I see yall have more rain coming. Take care. Blessings 🌷🌷
Thank you! You too! That storm is coming in tonight and they don’t know how many days it will last for yet so we will see. Thank you so much. Take care.❤
I'm in Florida and have followed you for years :-) We dont have many Hummingbirds, but when we do, they usually appear right after a rain and go directly to our flowers. I've made your fountains in the past, and my Hummers didn't seem to care about them, but I'm inspired now to try again...maybe in multiples. :-) Be safe in that storm we see brewing out there! Happy Easter.
I took your advice a couple of months ago and bought those solar kits. I am definitely going to try to build this. Thanks for the clear, simple instructions and suggestions as always. I’m looking forward to it.
Thank you for showing us what the packet of straws looks like - I’ll keep an eye out when I’m shopping! The hummingbirds really love that egg fountain ⛲️ It’s the perfect size for them. Can’t wait to try it!!
These are so incredible. I just came across your site looking for something else who knows what I was looking for. I already forgot I got hung up on watching you. These are awesome. I can’t wait to do some leaves with my grandkids.👏👏👏
I am new to your channel and I think I am addicted!…lol. You are so pleasant to listen to and I just love your bird baths. I can’t to try it myself. I don’t know if Missouri gets that many hummingbirds I am gonna try to attract the ones that migrate through here.
@Robbie and Gary Gardening easy hi, please can you answer this question. I have saved seeds from a butternut squash purchased from a supermarket. I have no idea if it's f1or not. But have been firmly told not to sow them because they will not grow into the same kind of plant as the parent and probably will be bitter etc. I replied, have you ever thought they might be better, more tasty? Allowing the bees to do there thing etc. I think you have probably kept seed. Please what are your thoughts? It will be my first time growing squash, to be honest last winter was the very first time I ever tried butternut. Take care 💕
I just ordered 3 pumps for your eBay list. What size tubing do you use 1/4 inch, 1/2 inch? I have about 10 hummies that have consistently been here for 10 years. I’m dying to make this. I have fountains but they are too vigorous and the bubblers are perfect. I will definitely be painting the buckets. I’m a silly Rock painting lady and everyone loves the crazy gnome rocks and fairy houses. I give away to delivery drivers, car wash attendees and mail people as little thank you’s. Now I’m getting calls to paint all kinds of things! I can’t imagine how these things become passions. PS: my feeders are emptied every 3 days. Yours must be MUCH crazier.
I have made a bath and it functions great. My issue is that not a single hummer has used it. I am not sure how to get them started using the bath. The bath is right next to a feeder so they know it is there. Any suggestions on how to get them started using it?
Hopefully some of your house finches and other birds will start to use it and then they’ll see it and know it’s safe. They’re bathing somewhere so they just haven’t tried it yet or you haven’t seen them use it but they could be using it and you’re just not around.
I watch a lot of your videos and I’ve made a few of the fountains. I have a few feeders out, but there are only a small amount of birds that come. I do have some flowers also in my yard that are friendly to the HB’s, but I just can’t get them to even look at the fountains. The last one I made was very similar to the one you have in the video with the turkey baster and they still aren’t using it. If I were a bird, I sure would like it. What else can I do to attract them to the water? I know they must get sticky like you mentioned.
One thing I did notice is that most of your feeders seem to be alike you know with just a plain red feeder with either a painted flower or just a slit with molded red flowers on top. I have a few different kinds. They do seem to go toward just one more often. And yes, I see a few fights and arguments now and then. Do you suggest using the same basic design of feeder every time?
Debating on whether to say this or not, but plastic bottles for soda (PET) really aren't made to be reused over and over and have liquids constantly cycling through them. neither are cheap plastic straws. They're really only meant to be used once. High temps (like a soldering iron, or sun light) also aid chemicals in leeching from the plastic. I can't say with certainty that its poisoning anything, but I do think its worth it to consider limiting plastic use when you can. Love the creativity. Its a cool thing you've made, and the birds seem to really enjoy them. I just think its worth the consideration, especially as you seem to enjoy caring and providing for them. Maybe try a glass one?
Okay maybe someone on here can answer this question for me. I normally make my own food fir them, just sugar water. But I thought coming out of winter, maybe they needed something more. So I bought pre-made hummingbird food with electrolytes. But I'm not seeing as many as I usually do. Do they not like this or is it bad?
Hi help - all your videos have a big window across them with products that I can not get rid of on my screen - my son and I cast your videos to our tv and love watching but we can’t watch them now with half the screen covered with product images and links sad😢 can o get rid of them somehow ?

You're very welcome! Thanks
Nice! I would lean towards your fishing tube model. The construction looked more solid… really smart DiY!
love this
Thanks 😊
Fantastic!!❣️❣️
Great idea.. Thank you.
Have you ever used a large plastic watering can? I have one I’d love to incorporate into a bubbler.

These are a great idea but I have a couple questions. How do you keep these clean and how long do the. power banks last before charging?
Just rinse it once a week, and it will depend on how big your power bank is, I use a 20,000 and it will run for four days

What attachment do you use for the bublers?
How do you keep bird droppings and other dirt from getting into the water and clogging the water pump?
I absolutely love hummingbirds and plan on making this. How do you clean it?
Just a good rinse or wipe it down with some paper towels and water every week or two
Thank you for your quick reply!
I don't have many hummingbirds, can I use a bigger bowl on the top so my other birds can use it?

Robbie, don't your pumps get slimy from being exposed to water all the time? Mine do. 😔
That’s just natural algae, When you go to wash it just wash it off 😊
@@RobbieAndGaryGardeningEasy Thank you.
More baths and anything else you can think of.
Hey I got the pet fountain with the flower, it says for indoor use only , can I still use for the hummingbird bath like you did
Yes
How far away should feeders be from fountains?😊
❤❤❤❤❤
Is that a 1 or 3 liter soda bottle you are using for this fountain
❤️❤️❤️

Where to by the hose kit?
I'm a country girl with wagon wheels and etc in my yard. Do you have a hummingbird fountain that's kind of country looking that you make?
❤

NEVER NEVER NEVER buy food from the store for your hummers--it is poisonous to them --just use sugar water 1:4 dilution.

Wait, it is a simple plastic plate, like for a picnic. If you want you can still make the fountain even with out a plate
Tip: burning plastic is not safe to inhale
