In hindsight, we were lucky to even get to the final… we played so bad in nearly all the games.. just very fortunate to have some exceptional players who get us out of trouble. But you can’t expect to win tournaments based on individual brilliance every game. That Spanish team, nearly all the players, other than Rodri, would not get into England’s starting 11. Half of them I’ve never heard of. But they know they don’t have 6 or 7 world class players, so they have to use tactics and a style of play to win games. If Pep Guardiola, Klopp or even Ancelotti managed this England team we’d have a world class manager with world class tactics, to compliment England’s world class players. He's playing amazing and he could start in the Spanish squad for sure, I don't get why he hasn't started in every game of this Euro. (Saka has played very well too). I prefer Morata over Kane only because his work without the ball and defensive skills but both haven't been very consistent scoring. I don't know, I played football all my life in Spain, Germany and England and in England the physique was prioritized over the brains and skills. I didn't play even in a Semi-professional level in England but thinking about it, it can be that in England there's no futsal culture whatsoever. In Spain and in Germany people play a lot of 5 vs 5. This is what I kept telling people. England are getting thru on moments of individual brilliance and luck not any sort of cohesive gameplay or tactics. The only game they sort of dominated was against the Neatherlands and even there they got thru on an Ollie Watkins moment of brilliance. You can’t win tournaments like that.
