I had an early production 6600 that didn't perform nearly as well. You buy a new 6600 now, you're going to get late production silicon which is always better. Hi there Basically I'm a noob in choosing pc building. I want to build a custom pc Here are my components (I'll use Amd products only) Ryzen 7700x , rx6700xt,32gb ram , 2tb ssd . I don't know what to choose at Motherboard suitable for cpu and gpu and power supply and other components. I'll use the pc for gaming and programming as a full stack dev and also I'll make heavy graphic applications as well as games in unreal engine. My budget is 900 - 950$(75-80k Inr₹).
My first (and so far ONLY) GPU is the RX 580. I’m so excited to get a whole new system and finally be done with extensive crashing. (Still love the thing tho)
I don't shop on Ali Express and usually scams I get on phone calls have that "potential spam" warning. 2 days after an Ali Express order I got a call marked "Bank of America" which is my credit card company, but it was a scammer. Shop there with caution.
I wish there were more conversations about performance on "simulation" games like software inc, sims, or what's coming from paradox interactive. Im personally a console player till I die but definitely don't want to play 100% of my games on them.
I have a used deal from my friend for a used ryzen 5 2600x and 1660 super 6 gig and 16 gigs pc with a 100hz monitor for $338 . I’ve been saving up for a new pc and I could save a lotta money with this since I don’t play graphically intensive games but it ain’t future-proof or upgradeable since I ain’t buying an am4 cpu for multiple reasons so I leave it to the ZTT YT community to give me some opinions . Send them hate comments! But mainly informative ones first…
2600x is still massively upgradable to 5600 or above. Not that you even need to if all you do is game, but the difference is huge for productivity. That 1660 super is more likely to need a replacement in a couple of years. There's still at least half a decade of life and upgradability in that system, you don't need am5 for a pc to be viable for the next several years. Especially if your budget is a primary concern
Budget ain’t my primary concern but more so time . I want a good deal on a pc since I’ve been on a HDD insanely slow laptop and I’m gonna need a good pc for editing and animation real soon and I don’t really feel am5 is worth it cuz I wanna preferably be on the latest platform for such.
I've just bought a DeLorean equipped with a Flux capacitor instead. An all around better investment. That way I'm simply going back in time, pick up a HD 3850, and have the performance of a twice as expensive 8800 GTS at half the cost. And generally, even sub 100$ cards wouldn't suck by default, but earn recommendations even from gaming mags. And just like CPUs in that price range are doing it still, actually exist.
I'm looking for a new external speaker for my laptop, and I'm not sure what to get. I'm in Australia so a specific price isn't as important to me, but can you please make a video on external speakers for budget, middle range, and top of the line price points? I hope you see this comment, and keep up the great content!
I'd recommend the Creative Pebble 2.0 speakers. I've had mine for about 6 months now and I haven't had any issues so far. There are USB-A and USB-C versions. They're really small and clean looking too, if looks matter to you lol. I have the USB-A version and it was about $25 on Amazon.
I have bought many stuff from Aliexpress and the return policy is pretty straight forward. In cases like these, if the GPU is not working and it is this cheap, the seller will most likely just make you a full refund instead of paying the shipping back and with no further questions asked, they will prefer this option instead of a bad review.
Zach in my humble opinion I would rather buy used in the u.s then brand new from china but that’s just my opinion great video and I hope you have a great rest of your day Rx 5700 xt all day everyday
Zach If ur doing budget builds again, I would recommend the Fantech Firefly MPR800 The rgb is bright and the mouse pad itself is extremely high quality (Comes with braided cables) But I don’t like it cuz I put it for my Mac
This is a great video and I really enjoyed the detailed explanation on the 6600m. So it would be great to see a video on a core i3 14100f because that is a cheaper CPU like the 6600m is a cheaper GPU
Power consumption would be really nice to know. Does the 6600m have an advantage there since it Was meant to go in Laptop with limited thermal and Power capabilities comoared to a regular 6600 or the 5700xt.
Radeon in general is a subpar choice because its video encoder falls behind in clarity (measure of a recording's accuracy to real display output) at _every_ bitrate compared to NVENC v7+ (Turing onwards) and Quick Sync v8+ (UHD 600 onwards). For affordable streaming/recording, I would emphasize an Intel Arc 700-series GPU. AV1 support, exceptional encode power and solid price/performance besides makes it an excellent entry-level content creation card.
the rtx 3050 ti gpu is a modified laptop gpu which is way better value than the RX6600m. it only comsumes 75watts, so no cables required, and it performs 15% better than the RX6600m.
Hey Zach. What do you think about the Tom's Hardware GPU Hierarchy chart? Specifically, the part where 4090 leaves a huge gap behind every card behind, even its own 4080 Super. The 3090 didn't have that big of a gap with its 3080 brothers.
I have a schizo gaming setup, brought an old Fujitsu workstation with 2 Xeon 5660 CPUs, and 18GB RAM and an RX 580 8GB for 40 bucks. Guy said it was broken, and that the thing was fried, but it turned out that the power supply cable was just loose, LMAO. Still works great for all my needs, albeit it is heavy as fuck. PC is called Fujitsu R570-2, for the record.
I had the option of buying a 3060, arc a750 and 6600xt and I ended up going with the arc (in Australia at the time it was significantly better value) and I'm actually very happy with it. out of curiosity, how would this 6600m compete with the intel arc a750
i would never buy anything on ali express. used rx6600 on ebay is right about the same money. But i think i would just get a used rtx 2070 super. about the same money and faster then the 6600.
Hey zach, just realized i’ve been losing performance on the computer i’ve built recently because i put my gpu in the wrong (gen 3) pcie slot. Some games especially helldivers and Fortnite ran way worse because of that. Also wanted to note that i also used an amd 7800xt in that slot and had no issues, maybe its only the nvidia 40 series that really takes advantage of gen 4. Just thought it might be worth a psa.
Well considering last time I bought Radeon my PC was out of commission on a yearly basis as the gpu had to be sent back for repairs every year until one time I ran out of the warranty time by a hair, I never buying msi again. Tried out the 3050 6Gb, sofar pretty pleased with it, it runs well for me for the games I want to play.
Wouldn't recommend, unless you don't care about stability. Also the flashed bios is different. You can't really use any overclocking or change the fan speed. Unless u like gambling
Just a heads up, when buying a Soyo GPU check the VBIOS version, sometimes they still have a mining bios that runs underclocked and undervolted, I had to flash a stock bios on my 5700xt to get the performance back.
Very interesting video. Thank you for that. I would be interested to know whether you can use the standard AMD drivers for this Card with the the mobile GPU.
honeslty one of th eonly reasons i buy nvidia is becuase the naming system is easy to understand and i dont trust benchmarked tables online as there always quite different from eachother becuase they dont list the other ocmponents so i have an rtx 3060 12gb with i5 -10500 but i have no idea how other cards at my rtx 3060's $180 price will stack up.
Hey Zack, something you didn't mention in this video is that the standard AMD drivers won't work with these cards because of it being a mobile GPU. I believe you have to get the "Frankenstein" driver.
With these cards, you just have to download the drivers for the mobile variant, at least according to TechYesCity's video on the RX 6600m. It's mobile Nvidia GPUs that require the Frankenstein drivers.
Hello Zach! I don't know if you'll ever see this comment but I'm sorry it's completely unrelated to the video but I'd like to ask for help, I have an RX 6600 XT and it keeps on giving me black screens while doing something that's more "demanding" like playing games. The PC itself stays on but the monitor goes black and it's really annoying because the monitor only comes back, after I fully restart the PC. My PC is a budget one built by me and the specs are the following, AM4 A520 Mobo from ASRock, Ryzen 5 3600 , 16 Gigs of Ram G.Skill Aegis 3000 mhz and lastly a used Cougar 750 bronze PSU. (I've read that the PSU could be at fault but I am really not sure at this point.) Updated my BIOs to the latest version, got the latest chipset drivers too and used DDU to clean my Drivers then reinstalled Adrenaline 22.11.2 as I've read that is the best for 6000 series.. I don't know what to do anymore.
Bro MLLSE cards aren't new they are refurbished mining cards and the 6600M is the laptop version reflashed and remade to work on PC and yes, they were used to mine as well Most of aliexpress Cards (Elsa, Soyo, Mllse...ext) are refurbished (used AMD chip and new Cooling system, some good some bad) and a lot of them come OC and they die after months of use (u can see additional reviews on the product site) however some of them last a lot (mostly ones with Samsung VRAM chips since they don't OC them or they OC them less than ones with Micron Chips that I noticed dies a lot) So TLDR, these cards are a Russian Roulette

Rtx 2070 Super (used for 230€) + Ryzen 5 5600+ 16gb ram+ 512 ssd= Good or not good for budget build? (main games are fortnite and Minecraft with shaders and mods)
The only brand of that 6600m available on my country, well at least at the moment, is from Aisurix. And I kinda feeling sketchy about that particular brand since a lot of people have a problem with dead or artifact GPU after only about a month of usage.
I absolutely agree that it is the best bang for the buck, too bad buyers see red and green, and red is a big stop sign, and will pay more for a PC with a 1060 6GB than they will for one witn a 5700XT. Just the way it is.

While it is finally starting to show its age a little bit regarding newer titles, it's been an incredible 5 year run, and I fully plan to put it in my closet as a backup when I upgrade later this year.
What did you end up upgrading to?
It's funny how electronics is are usually 1.5 - 2 times cheaper in the US. Here in Germany it's about 200 bucks for the card.
My Minisforum HX77G has a 6600m in it. It can play triple-A titles. It is the 8GB of VRAM that seems to hold it back.
So we're sleeping on the Arc a580? Alriight.
Ignoring a card that is in stock to push the shady market...
intel ARC 580 only office or Streaming an they need resizebar! RX 6600 the same and wrong selecation by older plattfrom booth need pice 4!
@@TheMysterymorphWhat a load of horse shit. I still have gaming rigs that run RX 580's each day and the A580 performs better than them in gaming.
What is equally interesting, you never even watched the video.
Great video here Zach. What do you recommend between RX 5700xt vs RTX 2060 super for gaming and streaming?
I’ve sadly only used integrated graphics ☹️ 🔥
Sorry to hear that :(

Soyo made my favorite motherboard of all time, with the 440BX chipset for Pentium II. It was a victim of the Great Fake Electrolytic Capacitor issue around 2000. My ASUS and Abit motherboards died as well.
I was hoping for something different, I've had this in my rig for nearly a year now.
Lol sorry to disappoint
Have u had any problems with it I'm thinking abt buying one but I'm worried abt thr build quality
Hi there
Basically I'm a noob in choosing pc building. I want to build a custom pc
Here are my components (I'll use Amd products only)
Ryzen 7700x , rx6700xt,32gb ram , 2tb ssd . I don't know what to choose at
Motherboard suitable for cpu and gpu and power supply and other components.
I'll use the pc for gaming and programming as a full stack dev and also I'll make heavy graphic applications as well as games in unreal engine.
My budget is 900 - 950$(75-80k Inr₹).
I'm just building my first PC! And i am starting with a 12gb rtx3060 dual oc from Asus! I heard it's decent!
Zach was my fav tech yt to go to who for me to talk about budget things...
Which one would you Choose if they had the Same Price? Rx 5700 xt or Rx 6600 xt?
6600xt. Faster, newer, more efficient, more features.
5700xt is great until it starts burning up on you. Under volting helps some, under clocking more.
All the rx 5000 series and now this 6600m, everyone has jacked the prices up.
Was halten Sie von der AMD RX 580 8GB?
I wish there were more conversations about performance on "simulation" games like software inc, sims, or what's coming from paradox interactive.
Im personally a console player till I die but definitely don't want to play 100% of my games on them.
Although these 6600m are pretty expensive in Indonesia sadly, almost twice the price of used 5700xt
Not anymore, in shoppee an rx5700xt from aisurix is 3m rupiah while the 6600m is cheaper at 2.6-2.7m rupiah
@@richie_0740 yea the price has normalized luckily
I used a 1050 for a long time and had absoloute no problems ❤❤
Zach in my humble opinion I would rather buy used in the u.s then brand new from china but that’s just my opinion great video and I hope you have a great rest of your day
Rx 5700 xt all day everyday
Valid opinion to have
Refurbished can't be named "new" !!!
I just bought a 5700xt on Ali Express for $150 on sale from MLLSE and I have to say, its a solid card!
I recently had to choose between 1660 Super for 110$ and RX 5600 XT for 95$ and in the end i choose the 5600, am i making correct decision here?
This guy might have saved the money I don’t have yet
How about the drivers, does the official drivers work on it?
Zach
If ur doing budget builds again, I would recommend the Fantech Firefly MPR800
The rgb is bright and the mouse pad itself is extremely high quality
(Comes with braided cables)
But I don’t like it cuz I put it for my Mac
RDNA2 is just incredibly solid. Absolute joy to use under Linux. Stability that Win 11 can’t even dream of.
This is a great video and I really enjoyed the detailed explanation on the 6600m. So it would be great to see a video on a core i3 14100f because that is a cheaper CPU like the 6600m is a cheaper GPU
Would definitely recommend Rx5700xt beast of a card
Thank you for the review.
Power consumption would be really nice to know. Does the 6600m have an advantage there since it Was meant to go in Laptop with limited thermal and Power capabilities comoared to a regular 6600 or the 5700xt.
The 6600m will only draw a max of 100 watts
Zach, is this GPU good for streaming and recording games?
Make a video about how good is gt 710
It would be a very short video.
RX 6600 user here :D
Did you also undervolt/overclock the rx 6600? Your comparison would not be valid if you didn't.
i ordered a 6600m off of ali . it did not work. no picture out vga light stay on fans spin no pic. i put it another build same issues
Just thought it might be worth a psa.
it's available here in the Philippines roughly $210.
Hey Zack, would you do an Arc A750 PC build?
Hey Zach, been a fan for a while now and I was wondering if you would be interested in making a video on a Helldivers 2 pc budget build?
Wouldn't recommend, unless you don't care about stability.
Also the flashed bios is different.
You can't really use any overclocking or change the fan speed.
Unless u like gambling
Just a heads up, when buying a Soyo GPU check the VBIOS version, sometimes they still have a mining bios that runs underclocked and undervolted, I had to flash a stock bios on my 5700xt to get the performance back.
It looks like 750ti cooling system from 15 years ago but that didnt need any power apart from the pci slot supply.
Very interesting video. Thank you for that. I would be interested to know whether you can use the standard AMD drivers for this Card with the the mobile GPU.
The only reason to get a 6600M is because it sips power at around 80w the 6600 is around 100w and the 5700xt is at around 250w :)
🔥🔥
Can you do a pure performance built for around 800$ with mostly new parts please? 😊
honeslty one of th eonly reasons i buy nvidia is becuase the naming system is easy to understand and i dont trust benchmarked tables online as there always quite different from eachother becuase they dont list the other ocmponents so i have an rtx 3060 12gb with i5 -10500 but i have no idea how other cards at my rtx 3060's $180 price will stack up.
Hey Zack, something you didn't mention in this video is that the standard AMD drivers won't work with these cards because of it being a mobile GPU. I believe you have to get the "Frankenstein" driver.
On Nvidia - Frankenstein, on AMD - standard !!!
With these cards, you just have to download the drivers for the mobile variant, at least according to TechYesCity's video on the RX 6600m. It's mobile Nvidia GPUs that require the Frankenstein drivers.
@@СергейКусков-л9р Good to know. thx.
My watercooled Vega 56 still goes strong 😀
Bro MLLSE cards aren't new
they are refurbished mining cards and the 6600M is the laptop version reflashed and remade to work on PC and yes, they were used to mine as well
Most of aliexpress Cards (Elsa, Soyo, Mllse...ext) are refurbished (used AMD chip and new Cooling system, some good some bad)
and a lot of them come OC and they die after months of use (u can see additional reviews on the product site)
however some of them last a lot (mostly ones with Samsung VRAM chips since they don't OC them or they OC them less than ones with Micron Chips that I noticed dies a lot)
So TLDR, these cards are a Russian Roulette
MSI (970A-G43 PLUS motherboard
AMD FX(tm)-6300 Six-Core Processor 3.5 mhz
16 GB GSkill RAM
240gb SSD
1.5TB HDD
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760
Corsair VS450 PSU
Windows 10 freshly installed & activated.
Price is $110, is it worth it? And if so, what games can this thing run?
zach why u never talk about arc gpu's the a580 for 150 (on a 20$ discount) its actually good
I literally just made an Intel Arc video 2 weeks ago bud
@@ZachsTechTurf didn't notice + ur the best bro
Rtx 2070 Super (used for 230€) + Ryzen 5 5600+ 16gb ram+ 512 ssd= Good or not good for budget build? (main games are fortnite and Minecraft with shaders and mods)
The only brand of that 6600m available on my country, well at least at the moment, is from Aisurix. And I kinda feeling sketchy about that particular brand since a lot of people have a problem with dead or artifact GPU after only about a month of usage.
Fire vid Zach 🔥🔥
Thanks!
In my country used rx 5700xt is 220 dollars (750000tugriks )
New rx 6800 non xt is 330 dollars (1150000 tugriks)
Which one should I choose?
Rx6800
Just bought an RX 6600, hopefully it will be a big improvement over my trusty old GTX 1060 :)
I absolutely agree that it is the best bang for the buck, too bad buyers see red and green, and red is a big stop sign, and will pay more for a PC with a 1060 6GB than they will for one witn a 5700XT. Just the way it is.
3 months later the price changed
