Thanks for the vidya. Been gathering info on gpu' in particular for few weeks to go through with my build and replace my current rig i put together in 2012. The overall state of the pc parts industry looks pretty grim vs what was back then and ill probably wait at least till end of the year sales, maybe longer since i need a new monitor aswell. Aside from the performance gain which will be huge even if i end up going with am4/ 1700 intel 12th gen. But i honestly doubt this new pc will last for 12 years used daily.
@@Geo-mn1xdSo far i have not faced any issue with 5600x. Playing on high settings at 1440p. Max GPU you could pair with this CPU is RTX 4070/RX 7800XT.

Yes, it is somewhat true. In my country also PC parts are a little cheaper in Sept and October. I have seeing this since 2018, and that's why I buy most of my PC equipment in these months to save some money
I got the 4080s for $950usd (1299cad) w/ my first pc build 2 months ago and im happy with it. I know I overpaid but I'd been wanting to get off console for a while as I was paying around $200 a year for subscriptions and they both ran out recently, so I didnt wanna wait any more. I definitly learned a lot since building my first pc and in hindsight I think I should've gone AMD, but I've also enjoyed experiencing what raytracing can really bring to the table (not worth the hit to performance imo)
3060 12Gb is way better than the 4060 don't worry. More VRAM, while the new architecture didn't really improve performance for the low tier cards. And honestly, as a 6650xt user, 99% of gamers do not need something stronger than a 6650xt/3060 12gb, maybe a 6750xt/3060ti but not more than that. It' s only corporate strategy to make us feel like we're missing some experience if we don't but a 800$ GPU, when in reality with our tier cards you can safely play in 1080p both competitive games with high framerates (my card delivers 100 fps minimum in Fortnite and it's amd, nvidia will even be better) and AAA titles with high visual settings (my Elden Ring gameplay feels smooth as hell)
I always recommend your gpu to my friends because the 12gb is not laughable. I prefer 12 to 8gbvram anytime even at the expend of slower gpu. Best future proof for the price that I can get. Since AAA games going beyond 8gb sometimes. I use a 6700xt though.
My first build last year had a R5 5600 pair w a 6650XT, this was a great introduction into the PC gaming, just last week built a better system with a 7800X3D and a 7800XT
I had never had a really good high end GPU the best I had ever had was a Nvidia 570 that I used for nine years. I had sold some things and saved some money and when the RX 7900 XT came out I was instantly drawn to it and bought one a month after it was released. I now feel like I paid way to much for it and it was a learning lesson, but at the same time I LOVE this GPU and I'm very happy with it. My first higher end card so I guess I don't know enough to say much but it is a great GPU to me.
In my opinion, graphics card manufacturers can just maintain the performance but cut the power draw. with everything so expensive right now, getting low power draw with great performance is awesome for gamers. low power draw means less heat too.
I agree, however, seeing what GPU is at the top of a benchmark chart (even if it means shoving ungodly amounts of voltage into it) does more for marketing & sales than toning it down for power efficiency unfortunately.
@@ScatterVolt that's the mindset i had prior to the 13th and 14th gen intel issues. and I see a lot of builders are going for undervolting even with graphic cards. now, all that matters to me is hoping for the next gen gpus to have the same performance but power efficient. great content btw, liked and subscribed.
hard disagree on the 4060. I bought a 4060 and paired it with the 12400f for 1080p gaming and light 1080p video editing, and its amazing for that purpose. And the reason I went with that combo is because of how efficient it would run. Yeah the 3060 has more vram, but it uses way more power and in most scenarios, the performance is the same or close to the same. 4060 with a 65w chip and a platinum rated psu makes for a super efficient system. I love my 4060/12400f build.
@@ThePipojp Nice! Yeah man I love my 4060. I paid an extra $60 for mine because I got the proart model, but its worth it in my opinion since its such a nice looking graphics card with zero rgb and its super quiet too. the fans hardly even have to turn on because of how efficient and cool it runs with the 3 fans it has.
I'm planning to upgrade my 3050 8gb also to 4060 8gb so i can play on high settings 1080p. my cpu is R7 5700X3D but still I can't decide if 4060 or 4070s
@@FrostZXC_ You can't go wrong with either card. I own a 4070 and a 4060. For 1440p my OG 4070 is awesome and 4070s is probably even better, but if you're just gonna be chillin at 1080p gaming and if you care about low power consumption and efficiency, go with the 4060. I use my 4060 for 1080p 60fps living room tv gaming since I wanted a "console" pc build, but I also tried it on my 165hz 1080p monitor and it more than held its own. A few games i tried, I had to tweak the settings a bit, but not much, and the game still looked amazing and ran at high fps.
Thinking of waiting out till the 8000 series is pushed out by AMD, idk if that's wise but it seems (through the current "leaks") that it might be a good choice
Great video, thanks! I just wish the RX 7900 GRE would be available under 600€ in Slovakia... What do you guys think, should I go for an RX 7900 GRE - 640€ or an RX 7800 XT - 505€
Sadly in my country, they only raise the prices of the gpus. The 4070 ti super gaming oc from gigabyte went from 840 euro to 900 euro in just 1 week. The 4080 super went from 1050 to 1120 euro. It's ridiculous.
As someone with a 3050 Ti Mobile 4 GB laptop, you're absolutely right that low-end Nvidia isn't great. I ended up getting a 7900 GRE build a couple weeks ago and that is a huge upgrade even if I mainly play on 1080p IPS and CRTs right now. I do plan on getting a 1440p 360 Hz QD-OLED.
Well cut yourself some slack as that is a low end laptop GPU, and all low end laptop GPUs, no matter the brand, all suck and become outdated too quickly.
@@ScatterVolt In all fairness, it's served me well enough the past 2 years I've had it. It's not like I hate the laptop or anything. I still use it of course. I'm just really excited about my build.
Still like checking these: Have experience this gen 7900XTX, 7800XT, and 4090 lastly. The vram and performance are interesting as 16gb will become the norm eventually. I've pushed 20gb vram on the XTX before maxing out for seeing how far it can go. The heat on the XTX wasn't great but maybe I'll try undervolting sometime.

rtx 4080 super for 1000$ :) here where I live it costs $1500. And 3060 and 4060 are the most sold, and it's really the few who need more, the really big ones like 4090 are only for those who want to brag about a good score, but who don't need a card at all, of that size
Do you think 5800x and RTX 4070s is a good combo? I will switch to a 2k monitor within a year. I want to learn and improve myself for both gaming and producing visuals with artificial intelligence. 4060 ti 16 GB is good for artificial intelligence, but I don't like its performance in games. If you give me an idea, thank you very much :)
Great video as always! It feels like the lowest amount of vram you should get at this point in time is 12gb vram, even for 1080 p if you want it to last for a couple years. Is that true or am i mistaken?

Just got the 7600xt with a cashback and the free game I was planning to buy anyway so it made a pretty good deal for me. But I will not use it for gaming. It is for playing around with LLMs - i think for that use case it is a great option because of the 16GB of VRAM.
I’ve got a decision to make on my next gpu. Either 6800 brand new for $390 after tax. Or 6800 xt used on ebay for about $415 after tax. 6800 xt is faster but you never actually mention it. Which is the better buy?

Super excited coming from a B550 - Ryzen 5 5600x - EVGA 3060ti FTW3 - Crucial 3200Mhz - 750PSU. I also game in 1440p so this is going to be a huge help! Been saving up a long time. Oh and the cashier at microcenter forgot to ring up the AIO so...$189 free & the 7800X3D was $276.12 on sale, and I got the 7900XT for $750. If you are on the fence about building, let me just say that prices are cheaper than I have seen them in years. This build a year ago would have cost well over $3000 possibly near $4000! Micro-center deals are ridiculously good right now! I got the AMD Ryzen™ 9 7950X3D MSI X670E MAG Tomahawk bundle for $700 bucks! Yup, that card is overall best, but gonna get crushed by 8800XT apparently out by years end and the 8th gen flagship for AMD? Big RT jump and 2x raster over a 7800XT putting it between the 4070 Ti Super and a 4080 overall? (from leaks from Tom at Moore's Law Is Dead) Price point likely $599 or less.

8:20 That packaging is worth at least 20 bucks to me. Wow.
I just got a 4070 super don’t need a new card but I love watching these vids
Im not here cuz i wanna choose a gpu, im just here cuz i enjoy ur vids 😁 (even tho ur cooking my 3060 12gb)
A 7900GRE is 630€ and a 4070 ti super is 1000€ in my country, how do you justify the difference? Insane.

This is so helpful. Thank you so much!
hard disagree on the 4060.
The 4060 is actually 20% faster than the 3060 12gb and only in games where the vram is a problem that they are the same
@@ThePipojp Nice!
@@Yukeena does the 4070s overkill on 1080p? or should i go for 4060?
Now you can upgrade your GPU whenever you like!
Still like checking these: Have experience this gen 7900XTX, 7800XT, and 4090 lastly. The vram and performance are interesting as 16gb will become the norm eventually. I've pushed 20gb vram on the XTX before maxing out for seeing how far it can go. The heat on the XTX wasn't great but maybe I'll try undervolting sometime.
does RTX4070S is the ultimate graphic & ray tracing for 1080P with high fps? around 144hz+
