      Sometimes our phyiscs teacher would be teaching us something, such how nothing is faster than light, and would just say, nah that's wrong, but you guys don't need to know that so I'm not going to teach you why.

      @11Survivor 3 роки тому +144

      @@SwolfyTDP I'm pretty sure in that scenario, he meant it as, "It's not actually that simple, you'll learn why later down the road."
      The thing about physics is that you _can_ ignore something, whereas in mathematics you _cannot._
      Happens all the time in my classes.

    As a teacher talking from personal experience and having made mistakes: never ever ever ever argue with the students when they're right. Call yourself an idiot out loud, let them laugh at you, call yourself an idiot again, laugh with them - and then continue the lesson. Some might even realise you're just a person.
    Which afcourse we're not, but they don't know that. Beep boop beep.

    When I was at school, I had a mate who was basically maths genius. The last year before we left for university, he actually pointed out the teachers error, then proceeded to go up to the board and write out the full solution in order to mathematically prove he was right. I've never seen a teacher look so horrified as she realised that she'd been outdone by one of her students. We all just sat there speechless and it was super awkward.

    That's funny, when I was in 2nd grade or something, my teacher insisted that whales were fish, and when I vehemently disagreed my parents got a note explaining in no uncertain terms how I shouldn't sabotage the teaching in the future, that I had a problem with authorities, and that I was a terrorist (this was back in the days when not just everyone was a terrorist). I don't know how my parents responded, but considering my mom was a teacher for 42 years, and had to read me all I could find about aquatic life in general, and sharks and whales in particular, before I learned to read myself, I reckon that none of them took my teacher's bitching and whining very seriously. Not all teachers are good teachers, my mom's former students still calls her once in a while just to say hi, she retired a long time ago.:-)
