I would never think I would like a blue kitchen but your’s is ideal… keep it and spend $ on something else. Also the living room windows look like there are pull down shades up on top.. yes? I thought Desi was so cute doing his leg stretches. Then I thought of my little boy Kody and that he never had done them. Then, lo and behold my sweet Kody 🎉❤😂began to do leg stretches!! Like magic! And he always done them ever since that day! When we go outside for a walk around our house, he begins his leg by doing his stretches. I just love your new house! I have to say, about your window treatments, I don’t have any cloth at my windows, l have thought about any sheer fabric but so far I only have nice white blinds. My woodwork is white through out. The rooms are all painted in a neutral that suits each room. You are going to love living in this little town. I just have a feeling.I’ll checking in on you and Desi! ❤

Desi steals my heart every time, especially with his bow ties. For windows, how about white flowing curtains hung from a curtain rod at ceiling height. It will make your windows look bigger, your room will look bigger and the curtains will add softness and elegance which also describes you. You're doing great. Keep going.

Your home is so welcoming. My window treatment ideas: shutters on the bottom half if you need privacy or it looked like you have blinds on the windows, you could use just sheers for a bit of privacy. Don’t hide the sunlight. Desi sure loves his new home!

Your kitchen cabinets are such a gorgeous blue....I hope you never change them. But of course that is your decision! I need to make the decision of weather to paint my red brick fireplace. Such a hard decision because my wonderful now deceased husband helped build it. He has been gone almost 17 years but decisions are still very hard for me. He was my second husband and I loved him with all my heart....he was a true treasure. So glad Desi has made some doggie friends....that is wonderful. My sister just put up cotton crinkle (almost beach like) curtains on a rod in her home. She said it was a temporary fix but now.....after so many good comments...she is keeping them. She has wonderful windows and she can open the curtains each morning so easily....and let all the beautiful sun and breezes in. Before she had blinds and this is so much better. Take your time and don't rush your decisions ...your windows are so beautiful too. Congratulations.. everything looks so fabulous and inviting. Your grandchildren sound so beyond precious. Absolutely delightful. IMO the soft blue kitchen cabinets are wonderful... so peaceful, calming and cozy, especially when you are feeling stressed. Yes, sunny yellow is cheerful but when I look at your kitchen I feel peace and calm. I love it! Whatever you do for you, we all know it will be wonderful.

Since you have a blue couch & blue in the rug, I'd leave the kitchen blue. Edit your kitchen accessories & look for some yellow pieces . The house is wonderful ~ kinda hate for you to cover the windows in any light blocking way. Some type of decorative blind that could be lowered at night would be my suggestion. Heartwarming to see Desi among the forgetmenots, making friends with his neighbors. So glad that after difficult years you have your heart's desire of a house & your grandchildren nearby.🤗
For window treatments consider top down blinds. That way you have light from the top and privacy on the bottom. These blinds also give you options so if another configuration works, then you can do that too. Only way to go! Your home is lovely and cheerful, these blinds will keep it light-filled .
I think I agree with you. I was thinking really pretty oatmeal or white billowy light curtains that go to the floor but they might be too dominating in the spaces and she has Desi and grandkids so they might be difficult to wash and care for. Maybe she could do curtains in her bedroom or only in the dining room (for elegance)but do the top down type shades elsewhere? Whatever she does I think it'll look gorgeous!

I have wooden shutters and I love them. Easy to close and easy to open. No dusty cloth curtains like I always have had in the past. I think they would look great in your home. Desi looks so happy there!

I have always wanted inside white window shutters. They can be expensive, but you down need them on all the windows, and they only need to be halfway up the window. The top half of the window could be sheer valances. The shutter could be opened or closed depending on the amount of privacy and light you want at any particular time of day. You can also leave then half open for more light or completely closed for nighttime privacy. I would use white- always right.
You cottage is charming. I love the blue cabinets. The color is so calm and peaceful. Be sure, whatever you decide to do with the windows, they don’t block the sunlight. In the last year, I painted my kitchen cupboards the same blue your cupboards are now. They are so cheerful! Bring in yellow accents in flowers and you know, other stuff, and save the trouble of repainting those loverly cupboards! Congrats!!!! 🎉🎉🎉

Today we learned our youngest granddaughter with 5 year old twin boys has come to the gut wrenching decision to divorce her husband. It warmed my heart watching what you shared today. The blue cabinets are very light and cheery to me. I love it! I like the pops of red, also, but you could always add some yellow accents (lemons, cup towels, decor etc) to cheer it up more to your liking. BLue and yellow look great together. It is a lovely kitchen and home.

I'm not sure if you've made any updates yet, but I have to say your "little cottage" is so charming, and I do love the the kitchen cabinet colors and the fireplace tile even though you may change it. The white painted fireplace was a great idea! Hope you and Desi are enjoying your new home.
Dezi looks so cute surveying his kingdom and making some doggy friends. It is going to be so much fun making your new house totally yours. And we all know wishes can be done on a budget. I find your blue kitchen very serene. Happy for you. Older sunrooms like that can be very cold in winter and expensive to heat. I had one in the little older home I purchased after my divorce and I put a daybed in it, used it mostly in summer, with some nice white wicker I bought at an auction and repainted. I had the large screen windows fixed so no mosquitos could get in and on very hot summer days I would sleep there at night with the cool breeze gently blowing over me after sunset. This is going to be fun getting settled in. Find out where country auctions are held. Those are so great for finding some special pieces for your home and a good way to chat with and get to know people.
I don’t have any window treatment suggestions because I’m a horrible decorator. But I wanted to say it makes my heart sooo happy to see Desi in his yard and meeting new friends. I’m truly as happy for you both as if it were me in that house. Much love!! ❤❤❤

Desi steals my heart every time, especially with his bow ties. For windows, how about white flowing curtains hung from a curtain rod at ceiling height. It will make your windows look bigger, your room will look bigger and the curtains will add softness and elegance which also describes you. You're doing great. Keep going.

Love your new house. I suggest for each of your windows, a simple, sheer panel with some kind of pattern of the same color, on it. And just keep your pull down blinds underneath, for privacy/protection. Enjoy your new place, also keep the robin’s egg blue kitchen cabinets, they look great.

Your home is so welcoming. My window treatment ideas: shutters on the bottom half if you need privacy or it looked like you have blinds on the windows, you could use just sheers for a bit of privacy. Don’t hide the sunlight. Desi sure loves his new home!

Your kitchen cabinets are such a gorgeous blue....I hope you never change them. But of course that is your decision! I need to make the decision of weather to paint my red brick fireplace. Such a hard decision because my wonderful now deceased husband helped build it. He has been gone almost 17 years but decisions are still very hard for me. He was my second husband and I loved him with all my heart....he was a true treasure. So glad Desi has made some doggie friends....that is wonderful. My sister just put up cotton crinkle (almost beach like) curtains on a rod in her home. She said it was a temporary fix but now.....after so many good comments...she is keeping them. She has wonderful windows and she can open the curtains each morning so easily....and let all the beautiful sun and breezes in. Before she had blinds and this is so much better. Take your time and don't rush your decisions ...your windows are so beautiful too. Congratulations.. everything looks so fabulous and inviting. Your grandchildren sound so beyond precious. Absolutely delightful. IMO the soft blue kitchen cabinets are wonderful... so peaceful, calming and cozy, especially when you are feeling stressed. Yes, sunny yellow is cheerful but when I look at your kitchen I feel peace and calm. I love it! Whatever you do for you, we all know it will be wonderful.

Since you have a blue couch & blue in the rug, I'd leave the kitchen blue. Edit your kitchen accessories & look for some yellow pieces . The house is wonderful ~ kinda hate for you to cover the windows in any light blocking way. Some type of decorative blind that could be lowered at night would be my suggestion. Heartwarming to see Desi among the forgetmenots, making friends with his neighbors. So glad that after difficult years you have your heart's desire of a house & your grandchildren nearby.🤗

Love the blue kitchen. Very much in style. How wonderful that the previous owners did so much updating.
For window treatments consider top down blinds. That way you have light from the top and privacy on the bottom. These blinds also give you options so if another configuration works, then you can do that too. Only way to go! Your home is lovely and cheerful, these blinds will keep it light-filled .
I think I agree with you. I was thinking really pretty oatmeal or white billowy light curtains that go to the floor but they might be too dominating in the spaces and she has Desi and grandkids so they might be difficult to wash and care for. Maybe she could do curtains in her bedroom or only in the dining room (for elegance)but do the top down type shades elsewhere? Whatever she does I think it'll look gorgeous!

I have wooden shutters and I love them. Easy to close and easy to open. No dusty cloth curtains like I always have had in the past. I think they would look great in your home. Desi looks so happy there!

I would leave the cabinets blue. They are beautiful and just work for the space. I don’t think yellow would work well with butcher block countertops. Your home is gorgeous and the decorating is superb. Good luck with the rest of your projects, I know they will turn out well.

I have always wanted inside white window shutters. They can be expensive, but you down need them on all the windows, and they only need to be halfway up the window. The top half of the window could be sheer valances. The shutter could be opened or closed depending on the amount of privacy and light you want at any particular time of day. You can also leave then half open for more light or completely closed for nighttime privacy. I would use white- always right.

In the last year, I painted my kitchen cupboards the same blue your cupboards are now. They are so cheerful! Bring in yellow accents in flowers and you know, other stuff, and save the trouble of repainting those loverly cupboards! Congrats!!!! 🎉🎉🎉
I think the blue is soothing in the kitchen but keep it for awhile and see if it grows on you. I moved from NYC to Bluffton SC, 2 years ago and I’m still hanging up pictures! Lol. Take your time. The blue cabinets are very light and cheery to me. I love it! I like the pops of red, also, but you could always add some yellow accents (lemons, cup towels, decor etc) to cheer it up more to your liking. BLue and yellow look great together. It is a lovely kitchen and home.

I love seeing Desi claiming HIS backyard…. it’s so precious. Susan, you have decorated your house absolutely perfectly. It honestly looks like something in Homes and Gardens. I think your windows would look beautiful with white shutters. They wouldn’t over power the room and they really would give the room the finished touch without taking away from anything else. You could open and close them as needed. Just close your eyes and visualize what they would look like. I think they would continue that cottage feel you are wanting to keep.

I'm not sure if you've made any updates yet, but I have to say your "little cottage" is so charming, and I do love the the kitchen cabinet colors and the fireplace tile even though you may change it. The white painted fireplace was a great idea! Hope you and Desi are enjoying your new home.
Dezi looks so cute surveying his kingdom and making some doggy friends. It is going to be so much fun making your new house totally yours. And we all know wishes can be done on a budget. I find your blue kitchen very serene. Happy for you. Older sunrooms like that can be very cold in winter and expensive to heat. I had one in the little older home I purchased after my divorce and I put a daybed in it, used it mostly in summer, with some nice white wicker I bought at an auction and repainted. I had the large screen windows fixed so no mosquitos could get in and on very hot summer days I would sleep there at night with the cool breeze gently blowing over me after sunset. This is going to be fun getting settled in. Find out where country auctions are held. Those are so great for finding some special pieces for your home and a good way to chat with and get to know people.
