    So in this vlog I finish the inside of the shed, go on a hunt for woodchip and negotiate with a spider. Enjoy.

    🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I've just started watching your channel and this spider reaction used to me. It's took me quite a few years to accept all the crawlies in my garden and allotment EXCEPT the massive skinhead spiders that wear DocMartins and throw bricks at you. Get your head round the fact that ALL insects serve a purpose in our gardens, spiders eat all the unwanted flies that eat your plants, so they're super important for an organic allotment. Make them your friends. Your channel is fab and very real. Keep going. 😍

    Just be careful when with this tarp if the water comes below it like on the borders it will degrade the wood faster because the water would be trapped between the tarp and the wooden floor.

    • @emmasallotmentdiaries
      @emmasallotmentdiaries  4 роки тому +2

      I didn’t think of that... I think it’ll be ok for a bit, the floor is raised off the ground, but I’ll keep an eye on it!

  • @stephenblaze4571

    Put your shelves on the back wall and put a table under the window so you have light when start to pot up plants, Homebargins do 6mm staples the staple gun is a must on an allotment. they also do some cheap hand tools and rakes, but the spades and forks are not so good, if you have a pound shop they had red baron onions in plus some other bits and bobs,
    Home Bargins also do a cheap cooker for a £10 to make a drink with and the spare gas bottles are £5 for 4, but they are no good in the cold below 4 deg C .

    • @emmasallotmentdiaries
      @emmasallotmentdiaries  4 роки тому

      Yes, great idea with the table. I got some bulbs from the pound shop today, great value!

    There used to be a character on the keny Everett show that was a wizz at DIY !!!! 😳😳😂😂 you remind me of him 😂😂😂😂 please please please don’t advertise yourself as a handy man/women 😂😂😂😍😍😍.
    Only joking 😎😎 you need to find some conquers (horse chestnut) later on in the year, an put them in the corners of the shed, spiders don’t like them 😱😱.
    Oh ! Why didn’t you “under fold” the tarp... not as much of a trip hazard 🤣😂🤣😎😍🇬🇧.

    Emma, I hope your children tell their mum off for swearing. I think the floor will sweat under the tarp. A few paving slabs may be the long term solution. If you spray the remaining brambles with weed killer that goes down into the roots, it will save a lot of work in the long run. I thought you

    • @wendyrowland7787
      @wendyrowland7787 4 роки тому

      Pressed the wrong bit! I thought you had come across a giant rat instead of a spider. Success in gardening means you don’t need to be phobic about dung. The best thing about that heap is that it hasn’t involved a plastic bag. The children will love being on the allotment much more fun than school! Oh and save your clothes by investing in a boiler suit for messy jobs.

    • @emmasallotmentdiaries
      @emmasallotmentdiaries  4 роки тому

      @@wendyrowland7787 Haha! I don't swear around them, that's why it all comes out when I'm alone! If I spray the roots, will it poison the ground around it? I only have a few more canes left so do you think it would be ok to spray the remaining ones then? And yes, I can not WAIT to have the kids home and on the plot for the next 6 months! Honestly, I've always toiled with the idea of homeschooling, I would love to do it and now I feel like I have this perfect opportunity to try it out! x

      Emma Bailey hi Emma probably just soldiering on with the clearance will do if you only have a little bit to do. I had to clear one third of a 2 acre field. Made lots of bonfires and then I had the benefit of my sheep nibbling off any new growth. I have used glyphosate in garden areas with no problem. It takes a woman to keep pegging away at such a task. The men in my life prefer to be behind a machine. I think home education if it teaches children to think outside the box and be more self reliant is good as long as the three Rs are good everything should follow.

Emma please can you stop this it’s like a 101 of how not too I am crying and that bloody door take it off the hinges did you paint the spider. Do you have a wheel barrow and a spade to move the wood chip and manure. You are that’s bad. But I love ya to bits
