- Hi everyone, I'm Emma and I am documenting my first ever allotment plot. Today I painted the shed as with all the rain we've had, it has started to rot away a little. It was a long process, but one I'm glad I got through. It looks lots better and I can't wait to be able to finish it off over the next few weeks.

Take your time emma and enjoy yourself it takes a few years for even the poorest quality wood to degrade significantly so look at the wood under were you pealed it. Its healthy what your seeing is surface moisture paint when you have time theres no rush beautiful plot you have
Oh thank you. I will do. You’re right about the shed, think I just got worried because we had so much rain before I managed to paint it so I got a bit panicky that it might be ruined! Seems to be ok now x
The allotment is coming along in leaps and bounds Emma. Oh.... have you considered getting a cheap battery-powered DAB radio so you can listen to Gardeners Question Time whilst painting etc ?

When we painted our fence panels that were new (im assuming its the same kinda wood? 🤷🏼♀️) it took 3 coats for it not to look patchy because it absorbs in more So errmmmm good luck 😂 I hated painted them aswell lol so do what I did and get your husband to do it 😂😂
2 coats in so far and it's looking better. Might need another one though... eek! x
Yay... you have a PINK shed :D All you need now is a small petrol generator in your PolyToilet so you can boil a kettle and make tea :D

I painted my shed with exactly the same kind of paint (but dark grey) last week. I think it is more of a stain, so it appears a little thin on the wood. If you paint it again it might have a bolder colour, but I think the wood is already protected by a single coat.
I gave it another coat over the weekend and it looks more pink now! 😂👍🏻
Emma there a shock I’m sure most of us have ordered something on lime and got the wrong thing. Is your shed not tanalised from the factory usually they are. I have to lol when you say bugger I should have done that. Inside looks good look there’s Gary looking in the polly tunnel. Happy growing you planted any seeds yet good to see what your growing..

Bloody awesome Mate, hate painting as well. The only way my wife can get me to paint the house is to put a brush in one hand and whiskey in the other.
