Hi Emma! I just wanted to say how much your videos have impacted me. Your honesty about the ups and downs of gardening, and life in general, has been incredibly inspiring. I love watching how you tackle your problems and try and perk yourself up and respect your own feelings. Your channel is a good reminder to me that we can't choose what happens but we can choose how to respond to it and feeling angry and frustrated at times is healthy. Thank you for sharing your journey, it has been most healthful for me!! 💗
I am new to your channel but have been going through you videos bit by bit.. The best aspect of your videos is the way you present realness, that allotment gardening isn’t all a bed of roses.. that there are these annoying things like fly tipping, rude neighbours, theft etc. - which are the realities of communal gardening. And love the way you include the footages of your camera falling and the rude squeaky door.. you’re so relatable and real!
You’re not alone. Similar situation with my neighbours too. I had enough and confronted them. Didn’t make a difference though really, as they’re still at it with rude comments and bad manners. People need to start being nice, with the way the world is at the moment, we actually need each other. Keep smiling
You have to stand up for yourself! You can do that in a non confrontational way- I used to be timid like you but you have to stick up for yourself, dont let them ruin your happy place!!
I understand how you feel, sometimes I totally despair of the human race. Gather all the slugs you can and deposit them on their plot !! the gift that keeps on giving !!
Im currently helping my daughter with her new plot and its been left untouched for yrs . The first thing people have told me is don't leave any tools on the site. They will disappear. Sometimes people are fine , sometimes they see something and just take it , your doing a good job 😊
I've reported it to the site rep. Haven't heard anything back yet but fingers crossed! Maybe I'll find out who it is and then pick all their vegetables or drop a load of snails on their plot! Haha! x
Hi Emma, take pictures and report, if necessary email then they have to act on, a drop of oil on your hinge's will sort them and make the last better. Perhaps some climbing plants on your tipi frame making it a living structure if the position good for flowering climbing so much the better, if you want a saw to cut the wood better something like a Bacho folding greenwood saw, makes lite work.
Good morning Emma, if it was me i would lay in wait for these type of people undercover in the shed or an alternative put in a trail cam some are real cheap now it works on motion sensors then when you identify the culprit then show it to the committee no way i would put up with this, also i would ask all my adjoining neighbours if they actually saw anyone just to make them aware that you are not about to put up with this or it will continue and spoil your experiences.
I am truly speechless Emma! I cannot believe someone would be so selfish, thoughtless etc! Definitely agree with previous comments regarding sifting through to look for clues as to owner of rubbish and photograph and inform committee. Keep going, stay positive and focus on the produce that will surely come! All the best, Martin.
Good morning! Tony told us about your site... bless you... what a pain those people are... keep going honey... I’ve been on my plot for several years and initially had a couple of issues...but I don’t suffer fools lightly and over time have made friends with the nice people 🌼🌼
Oh thats good to hear Rita. I'm hoping it's just a one off thing and they leave me alone now! Thanks for watching, always glad to have more people along for my little journey. x
Firstly Emma, I’m loving your videos! I’ve just started my allotment journey and had my first day at my new plot two days ago. The shed had been left locked by the former tenant who left over a year ago so I had to force entry. There was some stuff left inside, a few tools and bits and bobs, nothing terribly exciting. All my new neighbours came over to hello throughout the day and could see the shed door was open all day. I had no lock to secure the shed when I left so closed it and tied it up best I could. Next day, I returned to find the entire shed had been stripped bare including my own tools that I’d brought up the day before. I can’t help but think it was one of my ‘friendly’ neighbours thinking they were taking all of the previous tenants stuff but have stolen mine in the process! A very disheartening start to my journey, especially considering if they had just asked, I would have told them to help themselves to any of the stuff that was left. I’ve put a lock on the shed now but won’t leave anything in it for a long time until I’m sure it doesn’t happen again! Totally get your annoyance! I’ll make sure I vent about it to my neighbours so hopefully if it was any of them, they’ll feel guilty at stealing my own stuff I’d just brought up!
Been outside, filled two bags with leaves(Autumn here)and thought about your situation, chin up, smile at all your fellow Allotment members, the reason I watch you is that its only been the past 8 years I finaly made some true gardening friends, most people are so wrapped up in their own world they don't let too many people into their circle. You are so game to become a UA-camr, sometimes I couls shake you when you leave tools outside, but am married to someone who is like that. But after 50 years of gardening, am still learning and still enjoying it. The cover over the rubbish is a good short term, but take it off when you leave, stack the other persons rubbish in a neat pile, you may get to their conscience. But chin up and keep smiling!!!😊😊😊
Feel for you Emma, you’re a genuine hard working girl. If wish we were nearer and could give you a hand to clear the rubbish. I’ll send you a “NO DUMPING” sign ! Keep the chin up, it’s not personal it’s just the nasty folk being sh%*tty out of laziness. Big hugs from a distance 😊
Hi Emma I would go to your neighbours as say did you see anybody dump some rubbish on my plot it’s a way of letting them know without accusing and report it to the committee,
Emma your doing so well please don't let them put you off. I agree with trying to get some sort of camera maybe.. If u can catch who's doing it then you can get it stopped by reporting it. Don't let them try push you off the allotments. Keep it up hun it will be worth it 😊👍
I wont let them win, dont worry. It was just a shock and I wasnt in the best of moods last week. Feel more myself now so I'll deal with it and sort it out. Gotta keep positive! x
Tell them you always lock the gate and that you have done all winter when no one was up here and for the rubbish chuck it back or let the committee about it don’t let these people bully you and keep the good work up great video
Thanks so much. I've emailed my site rep about it. But I'm gonna do a little investigating and find out who it was, then launch a snail attack back at them :)
I’ve only watched you channel for 3 week. You have made fabulous progress. My plot is still untouched after 3 weeks. It is obvious to me and many more people that your “”neighbours are jealous. Your hard work upsets them. Please keep up with the Chanel. I love watching and learning. X. Fred.
Emma don't let them get to you. Contact your allotment council or organisers and tell them to arrange removal of the unwanted waste. It's a bummer but some peeps are ignorant and rude!
That's a shame Emma, what was the outcome in the end? I had a really stuck up plot neighbour dumping rubbish on my plot so I made a massive wooden sign which read dump your crap on my plot and I'll curl one out on your plot! Safe to say I didn't have anymore fly tipping on my plot.
Unfortunately Emma this will happen all through your life and a lot of it is jealousy hold your head up smile to yourself and say they have the problem not you, when that happens to me I do more to piss them off and they soon leave me alone
You poor thing, that's a real shitty day, but the fact that you can rationalise the situation and look for positives after tossing the teddy out the pram is admirable.
As for your Wigwam/Teepee. I would purchase some willow sticks & grow in amongst your branches/twigs. They'll grow quite quickly and there easy to intertwine as a living Teepee. My friend planted one in her garden for herself to made a shaded area to sit in.
The wigwam is a great idea you could try and grow Allsorts it like. Clematis and thornless roses along with some annual climbers. Wild seeds around it too. Emma it Will be beautiful xx
People can be such donkeys!!! Like, why would someone do that? I got a present of a bench for my allotment. The first day as I was leaving I decided to put all my nets and canes on it to hide it, just in case. The very next time I was there someone had nicked it. And they'd put all the nets back as they were, as if I wouldn't notice or something!!! 😕 Glad I have my plot at home now for that reason!
Wow just wow, I'm so lucky where my plot is, there is just 10 us, as I'm the youngest I thought my neighbour's might not like me being there, but I was so wrong, my allotment neighbor's are so helpful and have been great. Keep at it Emma you doing great, how long have you had your plot? I'm on 3rd season 👍
Hi Emma, I'm really annoyed for you after doing all that work, try not to let it spoil your enjoyment, although that's easy for me to say. Love the videos, keep it up. I've only commented on two videos in over ten years but I've come out of hiding to show support for what you are achieving. New sub too!
cheeky sods, id have took it all back off and put it on there plot, before they got back, and if they said have you seen all this rubish, them really knowing they put it all on your plot!, id say no i havent, but it looks a mess, now you pointed it out, ok im going ,ive got some planting to do ill see you later, and then id also be thinking what propper nobs as i walk back to my shed
Unfortunately I find this is the case with allotments. We left ours as this was happening all the time. We also spent so much time putting an irrigation system in our greenhouses and in space of one hour someone came a ripped it out and stole it. Such a shame isn't it x
Report it to whoever sorts your allotment plot take pictures and show them to. Maybe say your suspicion as means that they can put out a notice or have a quiet word with them. I had the same problem as my plot was abandoned and when took it over mid season last year I only concentrated on one end the council put up a notice when I reported it and as of the moment nothings happened again good luck hope you get it sorted xx
Allotments always remind me of the movie “No Country for Old Men/No Allotments for Old Men!!!” Your cussing has me snitches, as it adds the real life touch missing from the other allotment videos on UA-cam!
Speak to committee or council if you are on one. What is your saw that’s from the arc. Well done for the wigden. I have a grass area for kids with swing set for them. Stick some peas in the ground also start done in modules . Beans would like the tunnel frame . Cheers Ray 🥕🌽🌶
Ah great advice Ray, thanks so much. Yes, beans would be amazing to grow if I can sort out the frame. And I'm thinking of grassing over the back of the plot. x
The first mistakes I made when getting my allotment where these.... 1. Not installing wildlife snapshot cameras 2. Not ring-fencing my plot so someone had to do criminal damage to encroach on it 3. Assuming everyone was "nice" and cared about "the environment". Personally I think the whole climate crisis is bullshit and I signed up to an allotment because I wanted to grow food, and embrace a more "natural" way of eating. Within minutes of turning up on my plot, I found out my neighbour had stolen the pathway between our plots and taking it for their own, everyone dumps their shit at the south fence, all of them will burn plastic on a bonfire, and nobody gives a shit about anything other than ..... 1. Having a shed to get drunk in 2. Policing the area around the shed they get drunk in 3. Competing with anyone around the shed they get drunk in. Sad really because I just wanted a shed to get drunk in.
someone did it to me, i reported it to the plot manager, i also new which plot it was and i dumped it all back on there's, its disgusting and really selfish of people to do that
I know what you mean, some people are just hostile and take out their aggression on others. My allotment neighbour was OK last year but this year he's been really negative and critical, quite rude and patronising about my plot which I've spent months clearing of rubbish, 7ft high brambles and masses of weeds with my mums help. He's one of those people who always thinks his way is the best way. It's difficult to avoid him as he looks over the hedge and tries to talk to me. I'm hoping I can avoid him and deflect his negative comments with humour. There are difficult people everywhere so they're hard to avoid. I have a lot of difficult things going on in my life at the moment and I just don't need a rude negative hostile neighbour to deal with.
Emma, take pictures of the neighbor's allotments for your records and if things keep reappearing on your allotment you can confront them or your allotment leaders with your pictures. Chin up, working on the allotment will make you feel better. I do like the slug suggestion. Share the love.
Speak to your allotment committee and take lots of footage for your records over the hedge so you can identify the stuff that gets dumped and where it is coming from :-)
Will do. It's just a bit of a shock really, I wasnt expecting anything like this to happen. I've emailed the site rep so fingers crossed it gets sorted x
Hi Emma, new subscriber here! What utter sods dumping rubbish on your plot, who the hell do they think they are?! I agree with the other commenters, stick some cameras up and maybe try to make them obvious as a deterrent. If anyone comments on them negatively surely you can say that someone has been dumping rubbish and you're trying to stop it. Also worth reporting to the allotment committee if there is one - hopefully they can look into it so you don't have to confront anyone directly. Would it be possible to put up a highish fence at the back of your plot? Even if it is just chainlink or trellis? I don't have an allotment so I don't know if that is a no-no. I also have an absolute nightmare sawing and I recently got an electric saw from B&Q, makes life so much easier! I'd have a look about for pallets to make the rest of your raised beds, brilliant for free wood if you can get any. Your muttering whilst working cracks me up, I suspect that's exactly how I sound when I'm trying to do something awkward in the garden. :D
I know! I'm still fuming about it! Not sure we are allowed to put high fences up and it would feel a little antisocial, you know? Not sure I would be confident with an electric saw! Jesus! Did you see me trying to cut that wood?! I nearly took my leg off!! Haha! x
Get some WD40 and spray it on the door hinges Emma and that will sort it out for you., I would go and speak to the allotment comity and ask them to sort it out. That's bad. I would suggest getting that sorted or it will continue
Hang in there people these days are disrespectful is there anyone you could report too about it and there just jealous be strong if it was me I would throw it back but I know you don't want any trouble
Hi I’m just starting watching your old videos …. Maybe it may come up in videos I’ve not yet watched, but I wonder what happened with “dump-gate” ? I do hope other dumping episodes didn’t take place . Best wishes Cathy 🤗
Emma I understand how you feel I’ve had exactly the same problems . It’s so predictable I just switch on the memo recorder on my iPhone to record any nasty conversations before I go on site. Hope you resolved the problems.
If it were my plot and I knew where it had come from I’d chuck it back (Easy for me to say cos I don’t have an allotment..lol) and if I was in a bad mood I’d bloody well add a bit more - but that’s just me - hahaha...seriously though it must be so disheartening, hope you sort it without too much hassle. Anyway...new subscriber here, your channel just appeared in “recommended” so I popped over had a quick nosey around & think you’re brill 👍👋😃
Your as bad as me with the swearing I love people that are natural and don't put in any airs and graces. Glad you are sorting the sneaky dumper. So rude if be leaving notes on plots shed doors around my plot telling them to bugger off dumping stuff.
Oh dear. Some people are masters in creating additional work to others. ( I am fighting the neighbour´s pest cat.) Have you got a snap on any of your old films where the mess was before? Be vigilant. Good luck in sorting it out the peaceful way.
talk to the allotment committee and tell them what is going on. also check the rules of the allotment.... oh, a can if WD49 will solve the squeaky door. 😃 don't worry about what others say., you've got to learn and it takes time. Try not to get discouraged. ❤️
Have done! Fingers crossed they get back to me soon, they are a little slow. I'm not worried about what others say really, I tend to do things the wrong way and learn the hard way. But I'm up for the challenge :) thanks for the support x
A bit late to this, ive been thinking of getting an allotment and found your channel. A guy i work with had a lot trouble with people on his allotment and he ended up dumping salt water on their plot
Definitely report this to your allotment committee… a wildlife type camera or at least one of those cctv signs?? Nobody should be allowed to take your happy place away from you, we need our allotment happy places xxx
It happens all the time. Have a word with your neighbours, tell them that you are hiring a van to take the rubbish to the dump and tell them that you will take some of theirs, but would appreciate petrol money and the help of a fit lad for the heavy lifting. Allotment holders are nice, but odd. I have just taken over a new plot and discovered that the previous owner had buried a washing machine on the site. God knows how or why. It must have taken hours of back breaking work to dig the hole when he could have just as easily left it outside the gates for the Pikkies to pinch, but there you are.
@@RoseMary-vs3io God bless them. I have left buckets of stones outside the allotment gates and they even take those. No idea why or what the Gyppos do with them, but as long as the stuff goes I am easy.
LOL! I think I would be pretty excited about finding a washing machine burried. Maybe it had money hidden in it? Did you check before you threw it away?! lol.
Our plot is full of rubbish. We got it a few months ago and we gave been tidying it up gradually but it's such a pain as we have to take it home as there are no bins on site
hi emma, why don’t you report the rubbish dumping on your plot to the allotment committee chairman as he should intervene and find out who is responsible for this Sue (wales)
This happened to me on my plot so I made a sign for my plot saying do not dump your rubbish on my plot and it didn’t happen again. The allotment manager guy told me to add it to another pile of rubbish someone had dumped on the car park. It hasn’t happened again but it was very upsetting !
i had a similar thing ,but put a wild life camera up so ...everyone could see,and it all stopped ,i would dig the whole plot over then notice foot prints on the soil ,black bags of weeds dumped at the back of my shed
Hi Emma Stop beating yourself up for other peoples behaviours Its not your fault I know how difficult it is to confront people who would do something like this and at the moment you are unsure who is responsible I would put a notice up on each side of the allotment (so that it cant be missed) telling everyone that you are working this allotment now and would be grateful if people did not dump their rubbish on it when you are not there and offering to help anyone who may need help for what ever reason all they have to do is ask Take care Hope you feel better soon h
Buy a wildlife camera, fairly cheap on ebay. Tell your neighbour's that you've got one just to avoid any conflict regards filming people then place it where itll capture the back of your plot. If they know theres a camera there it should stop them. Tell them you want to see what wildlife is on these plot
May I strongly suggest a wildlife video camera. They are triggered by movement. I have 2 and have captured intruders twice at my plot. The light comes on but most people think it's just a light and don't realise they are being filmed. Plenty on Amazon. Mine cost about £50 each a couple of years back but prices vary. They normally run on AA batteries.
Go and see or contact the allotment holders committee main man and complain to them! I’m sure they don’t want that kind of people on their site pissing off the other holders! and maybe give them a warning! Failing that sabotage their crops under the cover of darkness! 😛😎.good luck anyway! Subbing to your channel! Love your approach!
i really want a plot but shit like this puts me off and people are so nosy and would want to talk to me all the time i couldn't handle it and i don't think i will ever have one......the idea of having one is good but reality and the people puts me off.
Hi Emma hope you and your family are ok , just a question are you doing more on your plot this year ( it's probably a silly question ) when you got so much to think about and do , take care 👍😊😊👍
Emma Bailey Hi I went to my plot to day but I had to keep my distance from everybody else , and we're gloves and keep my hands clean , hope everything think is ok with your family, hope to see some more of your plot soon take care 👍😊😊👍
Hi Emma don't get despondent, are you a member of a local allotment group you could report to them? Loving your allotment diaries ❤️ keep smiling and growing xxx
not sure if your allowed but ut up a little picket fence so if they did mistake it for abandoned they'll see it's in use! I realize I'm late to this but stumbled across the video and thought id leave some advice xx
Some folk do this to test your "staying power" I would wait till they're on there plot and the winds blowing their way then have the smokiest fire ever possible ( yes i done this to a plot neighbour who built a door into my old allotment so he could enter when he pleased !.. I also nailed the door shut lol). However I would just hit the guilt card and when you see them next make some small talk then drop in something like "some cheeky barstward dumped there crap in here I cant believe it!" New to this channel so I look forward to watching you learn!i
Life is full of lemons, so make lemonade. Probably the reason so many people have fences along the boundary and place raspberry cages along the footpath edge. Watch lots of UA-camrs a young lady had the same problem as well. A wild life camera may help, or a pretend one.
That sucks mate did you find out who did it I'm new to your channel first video I've watched I've subscribed so I looking forward to watching all you vids 👍
Hi Emma, if that was me i would by a Trail Cam from Amazon for £20 odd quid which can film the person who is doing it, then take the evidence to the allotment committee. Barry (Wirral, ENG)
When you see them, say "look, some assholes have dumped this on my plot". At least you've telling them what you think of them without meaning them 👍
I like it. This is my kind of revenge! Haha!
Better to say "my fella is livid and say he's gonna knock them out"
Spot on answer 👍 hopefully that would do the trick

Trouble with that is you risk them escalating things. In my case they are trying to get a reaction and it must be very annoying as it isn't working
Place a NO DUMPING sign on your fence, facing them.

What a smashing idea 💡
Slugs have to super power of detecting beer or up to 2 miles. Soak their plot in beer and watch the drama unfurl.

You poor thing, that's a real shitty day, but the fact that you can rationalise the situation and look for positives after tossing the teddy out the pram is admirable.
Make a big sign on a stick, red circle with a red line. " no dumping please " And put it where the rubbish was found.
I've only had it since August 2019, and only just got it into a state where it can be used!
@@emmasallotmentdiaries keep it up, you'll be loving more and more come this summer 🌞
Hi Emma,
I'm really annoyed for you after doing all that work, try not to let it spoil your enjoyment, although that's easy for me to say.
Love the videos, keep it up. I've only commented on two videos in over ten years but I've come out of hiding to show support for what you are achieving.
New sub too!
cheeky sods, id have took it all back off and put it on there plot, before they got back, and if they said have you seen all this rubish, them really knowing they put it all on your plot!, id say no i havent, but it looks a mess, now you pointed it out, ok im going ,ive got some planting to do ill see you later,
and then id also be thinking what propper nobs as i walk back to my shed
Having an allotment can be very hard work , you are doing a great job. Try not to let your neighbours bother you . report then to the council .
Hi Emma loving these blogs ! Please don't get dishearted your an inspiration. Xxx
Oh thanks Helen! Hope I have some really nice produce and flowers to show you soon :) xx
Ah thank you. I can only be myself I guess. Glad you enjoyed it!
1. Not installing wildlife snapshot cameras
2. Not ring-fencing my plot so someone had to do criminal damage to encroach on it
1. Having a shed to get drunk in
2. Policing the area around the shed they get drunk in
3. Competing with anyone around the shed they get drunk in.
Sad really because I just wanted a shed to get drunk in.
someone did it to me, i reported it to the plot manager, i also new which plot it was and i dumped it all back on there's, its disgusting and really selfish of people to do that
Our allotments have changed it used to be nice now its not very friendly. People are strange. I just deal with my plot. Produce often gets stolen.
Neighbour, not neighbor
Hi Emma, just ignore them, you are doing really well, fortunately my allotment neighbours are nice so I don't have to deal with such rudeness.
WD40 at Home Bargains for one pound...for haunted shed door....or keep creak to ward off others...
Haha! Tempting to leave it, but it's honestly driving me mad. x
Haha! x
Wow your tunnel is looking great well done ,loving your DIY skills the brassica,s are looking ok and loving the tulips are beautiful thank you Emma xx
Get some WD40 and spray it on the door hinges Emma and that will sort it out for you., I would go and speak to the allotment comity and ask them to sort it out. That's bad. I would suggest getting that sorted or it will continue
I promise I will get round to that door soon! I have written to them and I'm waiting for a response, but they do like to take their time!
Oh....I forgot, if you haven’t got wd40 yet try rubbing a candle on the hinges or spray furniture polish on them. Happy Sunday :)
I know this is an old vid but I wanted to say that it was good to hear you swear! 😄 And rightly so!
Had the same trouble once and felt peeved off , well hope you still got your allotment as I just subscribed
Report them to the council. They need to know and take action, on your behalf, and they should help to move all the dumped stuff too.
Put up a “NO FLYTIPPING “ sign! We did in ours.
talk to the allotment committee and tell them what is going on. also check the rules of the allotment.... oh, a can if WD49 will solve the squeaky door.
Get a trail camera (£40). That will catch them next time, and make some interesting nocturnal animal footage.
You can always rely on the pikkies😂
@@RoseMary-vs3io God bless them. I have left buckets of stones outside the allotment gates and they even take those. No idea why or what the Gyppos do with them, but as long as the stuff goes I am easy.
LOL! I think I would be pretty excited about finding a washing machine burried. Maybe it had money hidden in it? Did you check before you threw it away?! lol.
Put couple signs up saying cameras in operation
Good idea 😂
Our plot is full of rubbish. We got it a few months ago and we gave been tidying it up gradually but it's such a pain as we have to take it home as there are no bins on site
some of the worst people have allotments, so much judging and back biting, often worse if a committee starts or is on site
Emma, I've just notice the date of your vlog and realised I'm way off time wise. Hope you had a good outcome to this issue xx.
Sorry for you it happened hurtful some people have no fee
Ings
hi emma, why don’t you report the rubbish dumping on your plot to the allotment committee chairman as he should intervene and find out who is responsible for this Sue (wales)
Aaaw Emma I’m sorry this has had penned keep your chin up
Chuck x
This happened to me on my plot so I made a sign for my plot saying do not dump your rubbish on my plot and it didn’t happen again. The allotment manager guy told me to add it to another pile of rubbish someone had dumped on the car park. It hasn’t happened again but it was very upsetting !
Report it see your rep or council don't put up with it stand your ground
i had a similar thing ,but put a wild life camera up so ...everyone could see,and it all stopped ,i would dig the whole plot over then notice foot prints on the soil ,black bags of weeds dumped at the back of my shed
Oh blimey! Some people are just a-holes arent they?! I'll do some investigating and see if I can figure out who it is!
Hi Emma Stop beating yourself up for other peoples behaviours Its not your fault I know how difficult it is to confront people who would do something like this and at the moment you are unsure who is responsible I would put a notice up on each side of the allotment (so that it cant be missed) telling everyone that you are working this allotment now and would be grateful if people did not dump their rubbish on it when you are not there and offering to help anyone who may need help for what ever reason all they have to do is ask Take care Hope you feel better soon
h
Buy a wildlife camera, fairly cheap on ebay. Tell your neighbour's that you've got one just to avoid any conflict regards filming people then place it where itll capture the back of your plot. If they know theres a camera there it should stop them. Tell them you want to see what wildlife is on these plot
Good thinking Ted. And I've actually wanted a wildlife camera for a while, so it's a win win!
Put up a sign saying no dumping here!!!
You need cladding nails for felt roofs they are really short so won't show through also gt85 is good for noisy hinges
Climbing nasturtiums don’t mind shade and would look lovely and are rapid growers.
Ah amazing, thanks so much! I was wondering what might grow in the shade, I'll go have a look. Thanks! x
Not sure anymore Peter. We're on lock down now and I don't think I'm allowed there at the moment :(
Emma Bailey Hi I went to my plot to day but I had to keep my distance from everybody else , and we're gloves and keep my hands clean , hope everything think is ok with your family, hope to see some more of your plot soon take care 👍😊😊👍
Oohh that rubbish is bad, try and get it sorted ☹☹
Its an old video and i hope youve got it sorted....BUT NEVER EVER EVER give in to bullys......xxxxx
Hi Emma don't get despondent, are you a member of a local allotment group you could report to them? Loving your allotment diaries ❤️ keep smiling and growing xxx
I’ve been gardening since. Was young but they still think they know best till I let them know their presence is not wanted
not sure if your allowed but ut up a little picket fence so if they did mistake it for abandoned they'll see it's in use! I realize I'm late to this but stumbled across the video and thought id leave some advice xx
WD40 for the shed door, and a brick to keep it open, to stop it moving about in the wind.
Some folk do this to test your "staying power"
I would wait till they're on there plot and the winds blowing their way then have the smokiest fire ever possible ( yes i done this to a plot neighbour who built a door into my old allotment so he could enter when he pleased !.. I also nailed the door shut lol).
However I would just hit the guilt card and when you see them next make some small talk then drop in something like "some cheeky barstward dumped there crap in here I cant believe it!"
New to this channel so I look forward to watching you learn!i
Good suggestions thanks. Wow, can’t believe they built a door?!! Absolutely crazy, what are some people thinking?!
Life is full of lemons, so make lemonade. Probably the reason so many people have fences along the boundary and place raspberry cages along the footpath edge. Watch lots of UA-camrs a young lady had the same problem as well. A wild life camera may help, or a pretend one.
With people asking u or telling you to shut the gate just let it go over your head and enjoy your allotment
Will do, thanks! I’ll try to ignore it in future. I like to stay positive 😊
That sucks mate did you find out who did it I'm new to your channel first video I've watched I've subscribed so I looking forward to watching all you vids 👍
Ah thanks! I never found out who it was, but they haven't done it since! Fingers crossed it doesn't happen again.
Hi Emma, if that was me i would by a Trail Cam from Amazon for £20 odd quid which can film the person who is doing it, then take the evidence to the allotment committee.
Barry (Wirral, ENG)
Yes great idea. Lots of people have suggested a camera, I’ll look into it. I’ve emailed the committee and they will look into it for me.
new to finding your channel emma sorry about your bad news :(
