"I've grown a flipping pea!" The delight on your face was priceless Emma...I so wanted a mariachi band to come out from behind the shed playing "La Bamba" and a troop of cheerleaders to appear doing back flips, streamers flying over, glitter cannons, fireworks etc etc...Steve...😁

Pond is looking great! Don’t worry about the oxygenator plants... you do just chuck them in and leave them. With the tree check with your allotment rep - I think she will have to wait until October if she is allowed anyway as the birds will be nesting. Xx

Everyone needs space at times, everyone in the family needs that space Emma. Your kids are typical young kids, full of life and joys, bless them. Homegrown peas are devine, my husbands second favourite produce that we grow, first are potatoes. Thanks for sharing Emma. Emma stick that plant in the earth id say. It looks similar to what i got a few weeks ago for mine. I have fish in mine and they nibble at it. Planted in the baskets. Maybe compromise, voice you like the tree and if ye left the others. Shading can be good and bad, i like the trees over hanging as some plants like a bit of shading.

I don't particularly like peas either, but the ones you grow yourself omg straight from the pod are delicious, like sweets yum 😁. Are they allowed to cut trees during nesting season? Here you can only do it at certain times of the year. Plot is looking brilliant xx

I doubt she'll be allowed to chop the tree down fully. Maybe prune back the branches a bit hanging over her side. But not until the birds have stopped nesting and the young have fully fledged.
    Congratulations on your pea!!

You should buy a camera trap from online to record during the night time and see what wildlife comes onto your plot my mum brought one the other week to see if the fox is coming into or garden as we have chickens and something keeps on digging up our garden. Its very interesting to see a what nature comes into the garden when we aren't there .

Hey Emma, whenever I get any plant I’ve never grown, I always search it on U tube and see what other people have done. There’s nothing you can’t find on tube. U tube is the new encyclopaedia. It’s better do that than lose some of your plants. 💖

you cannot chop down a tree that has nesting birds in it, and dome places you need a permit to take down healthy trees.
thank you for keeping an eye on the wee fox. maybe someone else has trapped him snd taken him in for treatment. .please, Let us know. you might try a small can of moist dog food, an egg, fruit or kibble (when he is around) and fresh water. to help build up his strength.
i know you do not want yo attract mice or crows and such, your garden is looking great!

If you are happy with the tree, Emma, then tell here that. She can trim back what is overhanging her plot but if it is on your plot, then I think it is up to you to decide. Can't you ask your Allotment Society Rep?

To be honest, the birds absolutely love the tree. It's full of them. So I think it would be a great shame to chop it down and I think we should adapt to the shade instead of evicting all the bird families! I think I'll tell her. xx

It is sad that your allotment neighbour wants to chop down the tree which is doing far more good than the handful of veg she may grow. As you say the birds need it and so does the urban environment as it soaks up pollution. Here I am planting trees on my small farm, trying to save the planet while others just chop them down.
