Opening the gate of high and mid level jobs to foreigners and offering scholarships to foreign students (and denying our own Singaporean kids) is itself backstabbing to its own true blue-bred Singaporeans born here. I have always liked and respected the late Mr LKY but, however, i never like the fact that he locked up his oppo competitors without trial and only release them in their frail elderly age. To me, that is utter cruelty. Also to that he is actuaĺly breeding Singaporeans not to have a mind to dare to think in the political field by creating FEAR. Well, his son is repeating it. And it will fail too. LKY himself admit in 2010 that "we have grown in the last five years by just importing labour." Some people dismissed Krugman's point but Singapore's dismal productivity performance for the past three decades is a good indication that Krugman is not wrong.
