    Hi Julo, very nice video. May I ask where you get that weighing balance? Thanks!

    Not sure if you went over it, but I noticed you didn't have a second concoction of the oils & polysorbate-80. Any particular reason on not adding them in this formula ?

      Great observation! The only reason it isn't in this pomade is simply because when I made this recipe I hadn't yet come up with that second oil mix. This "butter" was made way towards the beginning of my pomade journey. The oil mixed with poly-80 was created later. You could experiment and add it in place of some of the distilled water. Maybe start at 1g and see if you like it.

    I uploaded an oil based matte styling clay. Very simple...simple ingredients and the consistency is perfect...very creamy. The only thing I need to adjust is the hold. It doesn't have enough hold and wanted to ask your opinion. I use beeswax and BTMS-50. I might add candelilla wax to see if it helps, but I really don't like the smell of candelilla wax...😏

      Yeah, cadelila wax or carnauba wax will help with this. The smells suck though, but it's just something you have to base your product scent around. Meaning, find scents that either mask it well, or work well with it.

      Julo Hair i saw that they sell a "double refined" candelilla wax on Amazon. wondering if it will be odorless.

      That's interesting. It must at least lower the scent, if not remove it totally. Cool idea!

    if I add benzoyl alcohol to the basic oil based pomade (beeswax, coconut Oil, petroleum, essential oils,) would it make it a matte product?

    • @julohair1799
      @julohair1799  7 років тому

      It would be more complicated than that. They would separate without some sort of emulsifier.

      Julo Hair whats the best emulsifier to add then if you want to add benzoyl and make it a little matte finish? Thank you!!

    nice video! When there is a video with a recipe of hair molding clay?

      Thanks! So basically I'd like this channel to pay for itself (ie: ingredients), right now though I'm hardly making any money. As soon as more money is make from channel I'll make oil based pomades and clays.

      I've added a paypal donation button on the page for this. I'd never ask for donations, but if you'd like feel free. I would very much appreciate it :-)

      yes it is but you should use E wax NF which is basically used in all major cosmetics and worldwide accredited formula for emulsifying wax. @@chiamakajoy1752

    can you make oil based pomade?

    • @julohair1799
      @julohair1799  7 років тому

      Yeah, but there are many videos on UA-cam for oil based pomade. I'll stick with water based pomades using ceteareth-25 for a bit longer and then make some videos on oil based.

      Julo Hair I ended up going with a more creamy formula, it’s got way more oil in it, but I’m using optiphen so no polyethylenes or ceteareth or polysorbates for me

    • @julohair1799
      @julohair1799  6 років тому

      cool! Whats your ingredient list?

    • @noreaction1
      @noreaction1 6 років тому

      Julo Hair I ended up using lecithin, dimethicone, a couple different butters, a couple different oils (still figuring out which ones I like best), candelilla wax, soy wax, castor oil, aloe powder, and glycerin. Thinking of adding cetyl alcohol to make it glide through the comb better, thinking of ways to make it less oily in general while keeping the shine and hold. Washes out with warm water

    • @julohair1799
      @julohair1799  6 років тому

      nice choice of ingredients. I especially like the dimethicone!
