l learned a lot when I saw this - I'll probably go with Goodwill clothes so I don't have to cut carpet. I'm going to put wheels on it so I can roll is out of my knife shop. Now if we only had higher deer densities in Maine I''d be all set.

We thank you for the video. It’s the first one I’ve seen that used carpet material for filler. I honest do not remember getting an email and that picture, but I did have Covid 2x. You are correct I. The fact that old clothing works best. You don’t have to spend all that time cutting the carpet and I believe the clothing does a better job stopping arrows.
From a safety point of view I wouldn't recommend the two people shooting at the same time! I do see the humor, but it does have a target on each side, so you can turn it around to reduce wear or have a different target. Thanks for watching!
It's going to depend on the thickness of the carpet you use. I think mine took around 130 pieces. Works out to around 345 sq ft. But that's on mine. Different carpet will compress differently. Thanks for watching!
How's the wear on the arrows from being shot into the carpet? As a retired floor guy, that carpet backing is very rough. Seems like it would be too aggressive on the arrows. Defiantly gonna give it a try, maybe I'll just dedicate a set of arrows for this style of target. Might even try layered carpet padding instead.
I shoot gold tip arrows, never seen any damage even after several thousand shots. They need to be cleaned with some acetone occasionally, the carpet backing leaves a film on them after a while. Thanks for watching!
What are the internal dimensions of the box? What do I need to cut the carpet too? I intend to buy the lumber from Lowe’s ,I will let them cut the lumber what is the length of the sides and top and bottom?
I'm pretty sure all the dimensions are in the video for future reference. You need 2 pieces of 2x12 36" long, and 2 pieces 33" long to build the box which is 36" x 36" outside dimensions. Cut the carpet pieces 11 1/2" (the width of a 2x12) x 33" to fit inside. Hope this helps, thank you for watching!
Well I don't know exactly. It's heavy enough that it doesn't wiggle when you shoot it! I use a hand truck to move it when I need to, which isn't often. Thanks for watching!

You might be right, it's easy to get too comfortable with a power tool that you've been using for over 50 years. That's why its always the "experts" that loose fingers on table saws and such. I'll try to do better next time! Thank you so much for watching!

Handy tip. If you put another target on the back, then 2 people can shoot at the same time....

I think the padding might work too if its compressed enough.
