I’ve started my trucking business in Odessa from the ground up and been in the crazy time when the boom was at its best 2012-15. I’m a chemical engineer and my first job as a mud engineer was 2800 a week at 24 yrs old in 2012. Then when I met a 21 yr that had a 15k semi make 17000 a week. I got my cdl and never went back as a engineer. Now my trucks make money when I’m sleeping 💤 🙌🏾
@@carmello000jp I would look to finance one. I’m 22 and I’ve made a dumb mistake to finance a “nice car” that made me no money. So now I’m thinking I would rather get a truck but finance it through a credit union or something
Lol I still have my Toyota Yaris! I love it!! The paint is peeling and it doesn’t have two rims but I LOVE the gas mileage and the no car payment each month.
As someone who started working last year, I recognize myself in what you said. I realize how it's t's all about minimizing expenses, maximizing income and diversifying investments. Great video !
I am a Geologist in west Texas, in less than 2 years working in the oilfields I bought myself a property in Downtown Houston, save every bit of my money and working towards opening a hair salon in Houston. I have seen lots of people in the oilfields that have been in the industry for a decade or more blow all their money and go zero once the bust come. Do not make the mistake of thinking that this industry is infinite because is not, just be prepared for the worst and invest in areas that will continue to grow even if the industry crumbles.
Basically what she said was live below your means, don't get involved with drugs, avoid a lavish lifestyle, don't buy expensive cars or trucks, and save as much as you can.
That was great! Thank you for sharing it is useful context to apply in real time. I'm working on my savings and your words reinforce and encourage me to save. Thanks again 🤙🏽
Have a question but, just wanted to say thank you! I stumbled upon your channel freshman year of college and now I just graduated May 2022 petroleum Engineering and in a matter 2-3 weeks I begin my career as a Wireline Engineer for Halliburton! So my question is did you have to drive your personal vehicle to location or do you get another vehicle at office location? I’m currently looking to get a 35-40k truck but if I don’t have to drive my personal vehicle to location I can get something cheaper.

Some questions if you don’t mind. I see people say don’t but trucks now and small owner operator will fail…you think it’s bluff or ?
@@SeedOfContinence if it’s cash price.. perfect time to buy
