In this painting tutorial I will show you the stages my abstract landscapes go through from begining to end. You will see me use acrylic paint as well as watersoluble cryons sometimes called watermedia. I will be painting two paintings at the same time and when they are finished I'll decide which one I like best :)
I use acrylic paint from different brands so my suggestion is to just use your favorite brand. If you want to take your painting to the next level I suggest you try and practise as much as possible. I paint a lot of my paintings on paper which is a nice way to save on expensive canvas and storing the finished paintings don't take up as much space either. I use smooth (hotpress) watercolor paper for these paintings but you can also use paper made specifically for acrylics.
The paper I use in the video is 110lb/160gram acid free sketchbook paper. But watercolor paper should work as well.
Throughout this video I will give you my very best painting tips such as; how to keep acrylic paint moist, how to prevent your paint from drying too quickly on your palette, how to keep your colors alive, how to use your photos as inspiration for your finished paintings.
This painting video is for beginners who want to take their painting beyond the initial first steps and for more experienced artists as well. I hope you got some value, inspiration and tips for your next painting. If you have any questions or comments please don´t hesitate to write your thoughts down below :)

Oh my god, I would be so scared to work so freely as you do, your art is really inspiring me to try and experiment more! I felt anxiety the second you went in and added those crayola ochre lines but the end result is gorgeous!
You hit the nail on the head - it making art IS scary sometimes!
I try to be brave and bold and it's hard - but it is also the best feeling in the world when it works out. Thanks so much for your comment and for watching! :-)
@@TheDanishPainter Really great art , love your colour combos and the braveness :D
It's amazing to see different mediums you use in the most effective way. Watercolor + acrylic + crayons. I am impressed. Best way to create a abstract painting.
Not to offend but I like the strip of masking tape between both paintings!😊
There are thousands of painting videos, and almost all can teach us something. Only a few videos cover crucial things that I want to keep in mind whenever I paint. Your videos are in this group. Well done! Thanks!

Lovely painting and technique. As people interested in art, we all love to buy materials, some of which we never use. This is a great way to incorporate those paint kits we forgot. Thanks for the inspiration.

Thank you so much for this video and for your generosity in spending time to instruct, inform, and encourage us creatively.
The paintings are beautiful.
A sign of the arrival of autumn here in the North East of England is the flocks of geese arriving from the North in their V formation calling to each other.
Once again thank you.
Colin.
England.
Yes we also have flocks of Geese and Swans heading south. And huge flocs of Starlins (I think that's what they are called)
AMAZING‼️
Beautiful 👍😀
Bonne idée les deux tableaux simultanément ! Deux belles réalisations...
Merci beaucoup pour votre commentaire et pour avoir regardé.
Thank you for sharing !!
Thank you so much, your tutorial is outstanding and your work is beautiful.
Thank you Irene 🌻
Hello Marie Louise. I am slowly working through all your videos and also follow you on Instagram. You are the first artist that has inspired me to try acrylic. I paint abstract landscapes In Watercolours and soft pastels. However after watching your use of the crayons, I have started doing more mixed media to my watercolours. I don’t know yet if I will try acrylics, but you are helping me with branching into a looser style with watercolours. Thank you so much. I absolutely love love love your style. Greetings from Australia
What a wonderful and sweet comment, thank you Jen! So cool that you are branching out and using mixed media. Thanks for taking the time to watch and to comment and see you here and on Instagram :)
Me ha encantado, gracias, por enseñar a pintar.
Me parece una buena tecnica.
Such beautiful work! I've always been afraid to paint landscapes, maybe because they're so powerful. I will try some now.
Definitely give et a go. Doing many smaller landscapes at the same time really helps me stay loose and more abstract. Otherwise I tend to easily get lost in too much detail.
beautiful stellar job
Beautiful palette
I like your style, atmosphere in the paintings is beautiful
Thank you so much 😀
This is so beautiful, I'm in love. Your pieces are so peaceful and it's admirable how with some abstract brush strokes you can get to make such masterpieces. Congratulations!!
Hi Ana, thank you SO much for your kind words and for watching and taking the time to give me feedback! Much appreciated. Wishing you a great week :)
Thank you for sharing this beauty

First time I have viewed your channel. Your creations are wonderful, thank you for posting they are really beautiful. I will so enjoy your postings in the future as I am struggling to find my inner painter, especially in abstract landscape as I am still compelled to “tidy” my work. Stay safe in these times.
Thank for your lovely message Carolyn! It’s nice to know that my videos are helpful - gives me energy to make more of them. Stay tuned to another new video coming later today😊
Stay safe & have a nice weekend.

Yay that sounds great! Thanks so much for watching and greetings from Denmark ::-)
Lovely ........thx for sharing
Thanks for watching 😊🎨
Great demonstration. Inspirational. I've been working in watercolours and have started to play with acrylic paints. Your style shows a wonderful freedom to expressing an idea. 👍🍻
Thanks so much John! I actually started out with watercolours years ago. Then transitioned into oils and then acrylics. I’m told by others that they can see I started out being a watercolourist because of the layers and subtle shifts in color and I guess that true. My first love of watercolour stayed with me all this time. I still do the occasional watercolour painting but mostly it’s acrylics now.
Thanks for the encouragement and for watching! 🎨🎨
Cheers
Marie Louise
