  • A beginners guide flight using the in-game Air Traffic Control in Microsoft Flight Simulator to fly from Jersey to Guernsey in the Channel Islands in the Cessna C172 Skyhawk. Along the way we operate the G1000 avionics suite, and unpack the meaning of the various calls to and from Air Traffic Control.
    Enjoy!

    Interacting with ATC is pretty cool! i want to stop using the automatic ATC so this is helpful. I'm circumnavigating the world in the 172 (300nm at a time) and removing assists as i figure things out

    As a not native english speaker. Thank you. I didn't realize about how ATC works. Maybe it will help be to improve my Aviation English skillls.

    Absolutely superb video. I’m wanting to know all about ATC lingo and this journey puts it all into practice.

    ATC will give you a shortened call sign unless there are other aircraft with similar lettering. Also, we never say goodbye or thank you when communicating to ATC. Its about quick and clear communication. MFS needs a better ATC.

      It also varies from country to country.

    • @EgorElectionaire
      @EgorElectionaire 25 днів тому

      It varies by country, here in Thailand we always say thank you as a customary when leaving the control zone frequency, it’s also a clear indicator that the aircraft is leaving the control zone, which avoids confusion.

    Hey there, Thankyou for this video, I hadn't got a clue. Have been flying in MSFS for years so very keen to try any multiplayer. It can feel a lonely sky with no one talking. Very much keen to practice formations, fun and difficult challenges. However am struggling to join discord as it seems to be very popular. Will keep watching your video to learn more. Great presentation, still like aviation joining a multiplayer, mostly complicated lol. Appreciated.

    Great video - thanks. I noted in the MSFS flight plan it worked and arc (or sort of approach curve) at each runway. When I practised with the same departure and arrival the flight plan was a straight line between both locations no curved approach. Any ideas why this might be ? thanks

    Hey man, great video. Some unrelated input though, you may want to look in to adding a compressor effect to your mic's audio when editing your videos, or buying a hardware compressor to put between your mic and computer. Your voice is going between loud and quiet a lot and a compressor will stop people from having to change their volume every time.

    How can you set the ATC map to appear on the right when you open it? Mine always appears right in front of me, which is not nice.
