Thanks! I'm estimating you'll get about 30-60 minutes with a 1lb tank. I bring a 20lb tank. The 20lb tanks happen to fit perfectly in a milk crate, so I just put that in the bed of my truck. A lot of people use the 5lb tanks. That would be good for a weekend with moderate use.
I'm actually about to do a follow up video. The paint does burn off in one spot. I considered painting it with high tenp paint first, but didn't bother. I plan on painting it shortly. I also plan on drilling a couple air hole inlets in the bottom as well.
Is no one going to say anything about your pilot hole drill bit almost snapping? Wow you were giving it the business, it was bent like a bow. Great tutorial though, thank you.
What are the pros and cons over this type of burner versus using 1/2” pipe with holes drilled?
I thought about going that route, but felt the burner was easier, safer, and you can adjust air flow.
Nice Job. This was easy to follow.
Glad it helped!
Nice job. But i am wondering of 1 pound of propane how many hours do you get on medium fire.

Awesome job! I just picked up parts to start building mine. Have you run into any issues not stripping the paint from the ammo can?

Yeah, I noticed that too when I edited the video. Go Harbor Freight drill bits! 🤣
Where did you find the grating material?
