One of the proudest, and most shameful, moments of my life: Coming home after an especially brutal 24 shift on an ambulance, I spotted these abortion protesters shouting and marching outside the local family planning clinic. I think the fatigue combined with being fed up with assholes made me punch the accelerator and drive through the flooded gutters, creating a pretty impressive wave that soaked the protesters, their signs, and all their propaganda. Seems like both groups think the same way: A scene where a dozen guys get shot? "Perfectly fine, maybe a bit strong for the younger kids, PG-13." A scene which shows half a woman's boob? 'OMG THIS FILTH IS TOTALLY DISGUSTING!!! THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!! R RATING!!!!!"

Planned Parenthood workers don’t just spawn out of nowhere, waiting to be changed. This story breaks down with the slightest amount of effort put into understanding.
There's the key phrases, "effort" and "understanding." Actually using your sense of empathy and compassion to understand a non-evangelical person's point of view forces these super-hateful ultra-evangelicals to recognise that other people who aren't them are not just walking stereotypes, robbing them of their sense of moral high ground and inflated persecution complex, which they can't allow, as that's pretty much what fuels them and the echo chambers they like to surround themselves in.
@@AnInsideJoke i don't know, there something hilarious about these movies depicting people like me like mustache twirling villains. Ray Wise was fun as hell in GND 2. ''We are gonna prove once and for all.....that God is dead. >:)''

Harold That is...terrifying. But now, I do have to admit I'm secretly relieved: even my most hyperconservative family members thought this was over the top and muttered that this kind of propaganda gives an erroneous impression about the services offered by Planned Parenthood. I know it's sad I'm grateful for having relatives who ONLY think that most abortions involve 8 month pregnant women breezily deciding on a whim that they'd rather be un-pregnant in time for bikini season...but hey! At least they think accessible, affordable contraception is good for reducing abortion rates, so I guess it could be worse?
My sister's experience with Planned Parenthood: She waited in the ER of her local hospital for 4 hours before they saw her, and misdiagnosed her with sciatica. She goes to Planned Parenthood for an ultrasound to confirm, only, oops! Not sciatica. Just an easily treatable sac in her foot that only needed a pill. Remind me again who's depicted as the incompetent ones here?
It is sad that "Abby" had to have two abortions, isn't it? If only she'd had access to birth control. Maybe if there was a clinic she could go to where they provide such services, including pap smears and STI screenings...If only such a place existed. (Also, if you don't want to work at Planned Parenthood, then just...don't work there. There. That was easy.)
well Abby actually quit her job there. I guess there is some irony in her having had two abortions there, before turning to the other side of the debate.
My mom said the priest at my hometown Catholic church that I used to attend recommended this film, calling it "informative" and "enlightening". Never before have I been so scared for my mother's well-being.
I live in a conservative bible belt area of the country, and everyone is praising this movie as being "something everyone needs to see." Because, you know, everyone needs to be brainwashed with how bad and evil abortion is.
Master Markus My dad is a pastor, and I can assure you that he’s not up to anything, mostly because he’s a Southern Methodist one, and they tend to be more liberal than the more common Southern Baptists.
Actually, looking at this again, it's clear to me that the ease of Abby's "redemption" proves that the filmmakers don't actually see abortion as the killing of a human being. In any other Pureflix film, would a character who'd killed two people end up with a happy family, friends, the respect of their community, and credit with destroying a great evil? No. No one would even raise the question of possibly redeeming that character. But, Abby is redeemed because she went from a "bad" woman who rejects reproduction and formation of nuclear family to a "good" family woman who promotes the nuclear family everywhere. The film claims its goal is to save human lives, but the actual arc of the story is completely disinterested in that. The true arc of the movie is how a woman learned to behave.
There's another pro life christian movie called loving the bad man about a woman falling in love with the man who raped and impregnated her while he's serving a jail sentence. for the rape. The morality to be found in this genre is terrifying
The truth is that we have all failed in the eyes of God. Whether you have killed ten thousand people or lied to a friend, It is all the same to God. The only way to redemption is through Jesus.
This movie is a mix between a bully telling “their side of the story” to a teacher where they take out all the parts where they’ve been bad, and a man’s voice saying “See?! I told you so! I told you so!”.

Getting Robia LaMorte to play a death clinic leader (I’m being facetious, just go with it) is as clever as casting Willem DaFoe to play the antagonist of a film.
The filmmakers certainly knew that "Unplanned" would get an R rating, but they also knew that making a stink over the rating would cause enough controversy that people will want to see the movie, wondering what all of the fuss was about. It's kinda smart, actually.
Just wanted to say, I live in Indiana and I saw this movie on DVD at Walmart the other day: There were so many copies on the shelf that it looked like nobody had bought one yet.
"I guess I hoped that Grace's birth meant the end of all this." Woman, you're her mother! A mother! That means you actually went through at least one entire pregnancy, which culminated in you giving birth by either squeezing another human through a tiny orifice OR being cut open and having a baby pulled out of your abdomen!! And yet, somehow you seem to think that pregnancy and birth are SO MUCH AWESOME that the experience automatically results in women wanting to force every other woman to go through it, regardless of how desperately those women might claim that they would rather die than go through pregnancy and birth. And if those women whine about other petty stuff, like how their existing children might starve if they're forced to endure another potentially lethal pregnancy and birth? Well, all they need is a financially stable, happily married woman (who had a worry-free pregnancy and effortless birth with no permanent bodily disfigurement or damage) to set them straight about the facts of life! And by "set them straight," this movie clearly means, "tell them they don't know what they're talking about, because silly women can't be trusted to make life-altering decisions based on personal experience."
All the bright pink at the Planned Parenthood table! Even their clothes! Yes, because pink is the ONLY color that can ever be used by a women's organization.

Woman, you're her mother!
David A.R. White is playing a Christian Mad Max?! Why aren't you reviewing those movies?!
Sounds like a parody it can't be serious.
@Nick Gagnon So basically they're boring bad instead of fun bad or insulting bad? That's disappointing.
Abortion is such a complicated topic, and the cartoonistic characters and lies in this movie aren't helping anyone. Abortion is not a billion dollar industry. Stop.
But, ironically enough, being anti-abortion is a billion dollar industry. Fancy that.
Is there actually money to get from dead fetuses? Like any money that's not trivial? Like I guess labs buy the dead medical waste? I can't see it. From my limited exposure I thought regulations were really careful about not putting price tags on human material like blood, tissue, etc directly. They pay costs for storage, transport, etc.
@@Hyreia Abortion is just like having your period. It's impossible to kill the fetus because it's not alive yet. The baby does not come to life until it's 4-6 weeks old. That's when it's too late to get the abortion.
Pure Flix wut r u doing? Pure Flix STAHP!
Michelle Warns that's horshit
seriously why can't more people be pro choice and not be consumed with semantics like a fucking religious nut
like seriously
it is alive, what's important is that all people deserve a good life, and if it can't be provided, then they are better off dead
My church made my family watch this film. My sister is 11 (she was 10 at the time). Do you think she wanted to see the blood scene? No, but the church cares more about spreading their agenda than the people at the church.
At Least She Will Be Pro Life And Appreciate The Value Of Life.
@@Dark_Force_Of_Wishes That's cute you think that. And admirable. But mistaken.
It's pretty messed up that your church was perfectly okay with showing your sister an R rated movie.
22:10. I actually yelled out, "ARE YOU SHITTING ME?!", when it was revealed there was 30 minutes of the movie left
dude yelling "you should have kept your legs closed!" at 7:17, should be the spokesman and poster boy for Incels international.
Don't forget domestic abusers and mass shooters
The abortion scene that was supposed to be this huge emotional moment made me laugh - the ultrasound was so cartoonish
The new tagline: "What she saw changed everything, well she did this operation millions of times, so I might of changed something, I don't know just watch the movie so we could take your money and achieve more success knowing we'll be making more movies like this"
Wilhelm Scream works with everything.
'Then get a life and mind your own damn business.' Understatement of the PureFlix century.
That's like asking the filmmakers not to demonize atheists, pro-choice people, etc.
You know what I love about the fact that this has an R-rating? It means students at the ironically-named fundie school Liberty University aren't allowed to watch it.
As someone trying to break into the film industry, these religious films have been a huge inspiration. Whenever I think, "wait, this is terrible," or realize that it might get an R rating, I remember that I could just put in some kind of religious or political message, so I could play the victim.
Please do something with Hugo and Jake! It would be hilarious!
I’ll second that!
I agree also! :D
Totally!!!!!
The Snob Reloaded.
Man that My Pillow Guy cameo aged poorly even for this movie.
when mean boss was giving the protagonist The Serious Talk(tm) in the hall there I was 75% expecting an aggressive makeout scene
Oh no that would against Pureflix's stance on homosexuality which is homophobic as hell.
It looks like an ultrasound version of the dancing baby screensaver from the late-90s.
The film the MPAA doesn't want you to see, according to Glen Beck & Sean Hannity.
Because it's trash, not because of the message.
Because, as all the 10-year-olds who play GTAO will tell you, giving something a hard R or M rating will _toooooooooootally_ prevent anybody from seeing it!
@@somebastardontheinternet Yeah, and giving it an NC-17 rating totally doesn't draw attention to it.
*PureFlix is home for B-List, has-been actors to use whatever skills they have left and squeeze money out of it. If you ever wonder what happened to that actor you used to like in the 80s and 90s, chances are they're in a PureFlix movie. Funny thing about it is, IT WORKS. People are paying to see them and the company's raking in the dough.*
Did I miss something or is Abby actually a medical professional? Because I’m pretty sure abortions aren’t performed by unqualified volunteers
She isn't a doctor that's the thing.
@@Northstar54 thanks for clarifying. I genuinely wasn’t sure.
@@charliethasnail no prob
I hold my hands over ever barrel I see now and say "hummus" 32 times.
Damn it Snob, I'm not sure if that was the best use of the Wilhelm scream or not but did get me to laugh because it caught me so off guard.
Only 166k views? Criminal.
Snob reviewing another PureFlix movie? Count me in!
I saw Double Toasted's review of this which I loved and now I'm glad you're giving it the Snob treatment.
God Awful Movies dedicated over an hour to this film, check it out as well.
Friendly reminder that the people who made this movie are completely fine with children being held indefinitely in cages at the border.
Skolney thank you! Then again those children are already alive so you're forgetting that ALL...THEY...NEED! God Almighty will take care of the rest. For who are they to hold their hands out to other dirty terrorists' kids and try to actually help them? They would only be interfering with God's plan. As I always pray 'Jesus, you who were used to torture and suffering, you know better than me what should be done with these children of thee.' I'm only standing by and letting Him work in overly obvious, highly advantageous ways for my racist ass.
So you can't be a leftist *AND* Christian at the same time? Guess I'll have to tell my mother to start voting for Trump in the next election.
@@madcourier6217 No, you can't be pro-State Enforced Pregnancy and a leftist.
Because people looking to cross the border illegally have decided to use their (and oftentimes not actually their) children as bargaining chips in an attempt to game the system. "You can't enforce your immigration laws on MEEEEE, I have my children with me hurr durr". Guess what happens if that actually works? EVERYBODY gunning for the border without going through the proper channels will be sure have children with them for that "ace up their sleeve".
Don't want children separated and housed at border facilities? STOP BRINGING THEM ALONG ON ILLEGAL BORDER CROSSINGS FFS.
@@geoffreysorkin5774 So every Christian is for pro-state enforced pregnancy? That'd be like saying that every Muslim is all for sharia law just because some of them practice it. People need to get their heads out of their asses nowadays and realize that humans tend to be more complicated than "Your X so your obviously Y".
Here's a few of my favorite examples:
A.) "Your a Republican, so you voted for trump and are a trumptard!"
B.) "Your a Democrat, so obviously your a libtard and communist!."
C.) " You can't support the second amendment and want tougher gun laws!"
People can't compromise on anything nowadays when your constantly vilifying the opposition instead of trying to understand each sides views.
Ahh pureflix.. the stamp of quality
Pro life isn't about saving lives, it's about controlling women.
Jesus, this movie has more flashbacks than LOST.
Yet somehow fewer than Batman vs Superman
The dumbest part of the movie is where the "nice" protesters denounce the "mean" ones. If abortion is truly murder and every bit as evil as slavery, Jim Crow, or the Holocaust, the "mean" protesters were actually too gentle. The Nazis weren't defeated by their enemies tone policing members of their own coalition, after all. They were defeated by KILLING them. Then again, this movie was made by the sort of people who at the time condemned MLK for being political, and today they think that all he ever said was that he had a dream, so I guess that is how they feel about slavery and the Holocaust.
Reminds me of the EU going too gentle with Putin's invasion of Ukraine.
