I love the touch that the police sirens are going off while Batman is saying there's nothing to do and deciding to go home because he's missing the actual crime.
Yeah, that was a great touch. These skits are getting better and better.
Well, he probably has an unwritten agreement with Gordon to let the regular beat cops handle the "small-timers" like thieves, con-men, perverts and molesters, and regular old robbers.
Gotta make it look like the GCPD isn't depending on Batman for EVERY little thing, right?

I like how Batman just ignores the obvious police sirens while he's talking to Mr. Freeze, as if he's forgotten that regular non-super-villainous crime still happens.
He doesn't care about solving crimes. He just likes hanging out with quirky characters.
I guess regular crime doesn't excite him as much as super villian crime. Too bad for him when they get a day off.
Regular criminals have real guns, ain’t no way Batman is trying to fist fight them
@@marileywegner I guess bane using machine guns and joker using all sorts of automatics and pistols don't count
I mean, I’d like to think the GCPD is at least *somewhat* competent at their job cracking down on petty crime. Batman, meanwhile, is for the big fish...who happen to be taking a day off.
Even in purely comedic material, Mr. Freeze still continues to be both tragic and ironically heartwarming

The ending with Nora freeze was actually heartfelt. I could legitimately see Victor reenacting something like that, especially if that was the last good memory they had together.
He was actually a really good person who's research was the very core of wanting to freeze and unfreeze a person until the time their life could be saved with a cure for disease.
Since his wife was terminally ill right? (Don't know everything, but I loved his story in Gotham)
Poor man lost her before he actually cracked the code...
@@Zorothex5152 Thing is dr. fries never actually lost his wife, thats a big part of why he's a 'supervillian' because he typically cant get what he needs for his research legally, and needs to turn to not so legal pursuits to acquire it. Its why in a lot of batman media he's not actually a villian and will go out of his way to help batman, especially if he feels like he can get batman's help in some way... which, well, yeah, batman is pretty on board for helping others as long as its not putting people in danger or at risk.

I have a feeling like the "supervillain day off" is specifically done to give Freeze some space. Clearly this day means a lot to him, so it's best to just take it easy
I like the idea it came about naturally, just kinda “well I’d freeze is gonna be doing his memorial thing then I might as well cancel that days caper and schedule my gym sessions then” then they’re two potential collaborators down and everyone just sorta decides to take their days off then to make the scheduling easier

Sometimes there is even honor among super villains. Although I think joker Didn't even plan to clean up the park. I bet he was just driving by in his fancy purple hotrod, Noticed how filthy and unfun it was getting. ( joker actually does have a deep care for aesthetics, It goes with his style. You can't have a circus in the park if the park is dirty, and after the circus leaves the park, it needs to clean up the park. ) he realized it would be even more fun if it fell in line with everyone else's day off Just clean up, Gotham park to mess with Batman. Bombs attempt Of murder. Robbery. All of that aside. What the joker always wants most out of Batman is Mess with his head. And even doing something As mundane as this is more than enough to count. Remember, this is a guy who thought He could copyright fish by making them all have his smile. And then ended up having to pay so much to the IRS .He literally fears them more than Batman. I would not put something like this by him at all.
That Mr. Freeze bit felt so...real. I can imagine with Victor's research in cryotherapy, him and Nora liked to eat ice cream since that was their careers. And Victor eating ice cream is one of the only things he's able to eat because everything else is too warm. Ice cream is one of the only ways he can connect with the human world and most importantly Nora. That is so unbelievably touching and tragic it needs to be in the comics.

2. they only took a day off so that batman could never say “crime doesn’t take a day off” ever again
How about 3. They know that Freeze needs this day, so they specifically co-ordinated this so that he can have spend his anniversary without any work obligations
Or 4 everyone (except Mr freeze I guess) wants to commit the biggest scheme ever by giving batman depression by realizing all he has is his job and if he doesn't have that who is he. As a fly is to a zapper or a soldier to war, batman is ultimately never to have a day peice as he is nothing without crime no matter the ramifications on his own being
Out of all the supervillains shown in the video, the only one who would actually do something like this in canon would be Joker, but only to troll batman lmao

This was the best skit from this channel I've seen so far, I think. Joker "doing his part", Bane helping Riddler get stronger, and then Mr. Freeze getting ice cream. I was confused as to why he had two bowls, I thought the other one was going to be for Batman, but it being for Nora was shockingly sad and wholesome at the same time. The fact that the ending scene with Mr. Freeze eating his Ice Cream with Nora didn't have any dialogue only accentuates the performance. Truly perfect, well done JJ.

I do actually wish we got to see more moments like this from The Joker. I mean he's supposed to be so chaotic and demented that even powerful telepaths and otherworldly multidimensional beings can't understand or predict him, but all he ever does is crime. This, _this_ is unexpected.
It doesn't have to played as like "oh it's therapeutic" either, though I do like that angle. But it could also just be like "Oh the Bats is gonna wrack his brain over how this plays into my scheme, but actually I'm just literally cleaning the park" or "well of course I'm cleaning the park, I need it to look good for later" y'know he could have lots of reasons.
If his scheme is to get Bats wondering about his scheme, it has already failed.
But he could always say it's cathartic, like everything els he does.
@@davidwuhrer6704
Well whether it fails depends on the motivation. The Joker's motives are often said to be known only to him. It may seem from the outside looking in that it was pointless, but that's kinda what I mean. If everything he does is part of some grand plan, it's not really a surprise that some wacky thing he did fits into the overarching story. But if every now and again, there seems to be literally no point to his actions, then predicting him becomes a lot tougher.
@@oliverholm3973 I see your point. You are saying that doing things that are not part of the plan is part of the plan.
But for Batman to simply ignore the irrelevant, the motivation for it is irrelevant.
"I may be a criminal, Batsy, but even I take pride in my community!" is a line I can actually see the Mark Hamill joker saying.
The few times Joker has gone sane usually happened as a result of Batman being gone, so it's somewhat implied they drive each other to do what they do
0:46 “What do you mean ‘doing your part’? You’ve killed millions”
Well by killing millions Joker has decreased the world’s carbon footprint, thereby technically “doing his part”
That sounds so twisted I wouldn't be surprise if he were to actually use that as an excuse in canon at some point.
Unless the main ingredient in that joker gas is chlorine
For some weird reason, I can totally see a version of Joker doing some legit community service for a day every once in a while, no schemes attached, just cuz he _really_ loves messing with Batman.

Freeze just needs to patent and sell his technology and he can fund his research while being classified as an asset to Wayne Corp
I love that alongside all the villains having a group chat together this also implies that Batman is only allowed to arrest these known criminals specifically when they are doing crime and otherwise all the rogue gallery are free to just walk around the city
Most of them are mentally ill, and so don't get fixed prison sentences; instead being able to leave Arkham whenever their conditions seem manageable. The others, I imagine, get off on a mistrial since "Batman caught him being shady" doesn't constitute strong evidence in court.
There is a surprising number of real criminals who seem to think the same thing. If someone called the cops over a different matter, they can't arrest you on your warrants because that _isn't why they were called_ , or they are convinced that you can't pull them over for "just" a suspended license or unregistered tags when there are "real criminals" and drunks you should be out busting. I remember there was an episode of Batman: The Animated Series where Penguin reformed and Batman was still bothering him, so this is oddly in character for Batman.
That was a really good episode. The sad part is, he really would have stayed reformed where it not for the rich people who had tried to trick him.
The Bat has no social life. Bruce Wayne is just a mask The Batman wears when he needs to go out in public and do something that doesn't require beating people up and talking in a sinister voice. He's never Bruce just to go out and have fun.
@@somerando86 Look, if you relapse from one push, you aren't really reformed.
@@MyVanir most batman villains are good people who have a problem
@@MyVanir You know most of these villains are pretty much certifiably insane right? That's why they go to an asylum instead of prison.
I feel like doing community service would be joker genuinely trying to fuck with Batman
1:25 He was actually looking for Sportsmaster and his family who just opened up a branch of their gym in Gotham.
They were also taking the day off and Artemis had betrayed them to go join Young Justice a day before anyway and Sportsmaster is having a hard time dealing with that.
I'm pretty sure that Joker's plan with this is just to get a confused reaction from Batman, the joke being Batman thinking they're up to something when he isn't
but they ARE!
@@DagonFrazer3 you're literally the definition of "cringetuber"
@@fl3m1n9o4 Yeah! They are! After that they will go to their favorite restaurant and order a large pizza for themselves, with extra mushrooms and pepperoni!

Joker is the one who organizes all their days off
I love how everybody has a costume they can seemingly take off but don’t, meanwhile Freeze isn’t in costume he’s just literally in a life-preserving suit.
Awwhhh, Mr. Freeze at the end with the ice cream and his wife... Got me right in the feels, Batman. 💔
Freeze misses both people in the photo.
i love how joker is just a genuinely nice guy in almost all the videos
That ending with freeze thinking about the past was actually kinda emotional
Double whammy in the fact he had two bowls. Only one for him.
How he gona eat it 🤨
How he gona eat it 🤨

Batman had a legit point about them all taking the day off but still wearing their gear - that’s too bad he made it with Mr Freeze, the ONE guy who can’t ever take his off 😂
true, bro said the right thing at the worst time lmao.
Never thought I'd see a comedic upload by Solid jj that ended on a truly heartfelt and somber moment. I'm shook.
1:18 stopping spotting in the middle is dangerous
I like how, in the part with Mr. Freeze, there are police sirens blaring almost the whole time. Batman is actively avoiding actual crimes going on in the hopes of finding his rogues gallery up to something.
Ayo that ending hit me in the feels. Poor Freeze. Thats so sad but wholesome af. He loves his wife so much. He could've just moved on, but no, he's so faithful. What a King!
BRO u cant jsut hit us with the feels at the end like that maan
There's something so poignant in the silence as Freeze looks at the picture. It's even sadder than a "I Miss you." because we can feel it, we can feel his pain. And the attention to detail with the same flavors. It's just executed so well. JJ really is a good writer.
I was not expecting this to end in a sad tone, masterfully done.
These skits are slowly becoming therapy for me. Some of the best parts of my day
They are almost as theraputic as cleaning up trash in the parks of Gotham for Joker.
Love that in the midst of Batman'd tirade to Freeze about taking crime seriously and going home for a lack of it, there are GPD sirens going off, likely responding to an actual crime. Nice touch.
Pre TAS freeze with Nora is so bittersweet to see
It's like looking into an alternative timeline if 80s cartoons and before gave their villains tragic backstories
Bane just casually breaking Batman's back is a great nod.
Well, I didn't expect that sad, sad ending...
I think the Joker really organized all of this just to mess with Batman.
I think because the general tone of Solid jj's videos are usually hysterical, when they're heartfelt, you really feel it because of the usual contrast, which just makes it all so much better.
I did NOT expect that ending to sucker punch me in the feels like it did 😢
Bro, come on. Don’t make me cry in the last tens seconds 😭😭
Just had to add the Mr Freeze sad moment at the end.
Actually a really in character moment for him to share a moment with his frozen or dead wife remembering better times.
Joker is a villain, but only bad guys throw trash on the grass
I love that at 2:00 there are tons of sirens going off but Batman is too busy bothering all of the super villains to do any actual crime stopping
So nice of the rest of the villains to take a day off for Freeze so he can mourn his wife. What a wholesome band of friends!
The joker picking up litter in the park because he finds it enjoyable is something the joker would definitely do
It physically hurts me how in character that last bit is for Freeze
This is better than the actual comics
Comics nowadays kinda suck. I prefer 00s-early 10s stuff

LOL...Bane smacking batmans back, was a great reference, to a past video.
Honestly it's definitely a Joker thing to do to just... not do any crimes on April Fool's Day or something like that.
The funny thing about this is that this is actually the reality that Batman secretly wants. But he knows that at any time, when you least expect it, a crime can happen. And he has to always be vigilant when no one else can.
In Batman Beyond there is this great line he gives to Terry, when the later claims that one night to himself won’t make any difference.
*”One night ALWAYS makes the difference!”*
If he doesn't want crime to happen, he could always do something to remove social inequality.
@@davidwuhrer6704 What about guys like Black Mask who don’t have a financial problem?
@@davidwuhrer6704 Adding onto what the guy above me said, there really just isn't anything Bats could actually do about social inequality. You could throw as much money at the problem as you want, but as long as governments just don't do anything about it, you won't be helping at all.
@@ghidorah4695 There is a reason why it is the job of governments. The reason is people like Bruce Wayne. They benefit personally from social inequality. Not necessarily by giving them an excuse to assault petty criminals as a hobby, but mostly because it gives them power over others and keeps wages low.
And the only reason some governments have become unable or unwilling to do this job is people like Bruce Wayne. The idea that the money issued by governments is wasted and therefore private enterprise is more efficient has encouraged deregulation and fostered monopolies, for the benefit of you get the idea. The phrase "golden parachute" is used unironically nowadays. "Revolving door" and "regulatory capture" have also become common. The root problem is the misbegotten idea that money is finite and what you can get for it is not, so there is incentive to extract as much money from the economy as possible while there are still things that can be bought.
Which is enough to imply that Batman is not serious.
But if he were, there are things he could do, easily. Not preventing good policies would be a start. The deregulated economy also calls people like him "job creators" even though the name of the game has been "downsizing" for decades now. Governments can create jobs which fosters the economy and reduces poverty, crime, and, yes, mental illness. But so can captains of industry. They don't even need to pay for it with their own money.
But, as mentioned above, they have no incentive to do so. And as Margaret Thatcher stated when she privatised government services and deregulated the economy: "There is no such thing as society. There are only incentives."
Famously, a Mr Musk has announced on a website he later bought that if the UN could present him with a plan for how a fraction of his inherited wealth could alleviate world hunger, he would pay the required amount. The UN did present him with that plan. Apparently he believed that to be impossible, because so far he has not kept his promise.
He does donate enough money to a charity about homelessness to not pay any taxes, a charity that seems surprisingly ineffective and seems to use its funds in ways that return those donations to him.
Batsy is in an even easier position because, for one, he is fictional, and for another, depending on writer, Gotham is a company town built by and around WayneCorp or, when it isn't, he has enough power and influence to reign in certain politicians he doesn't like.
Now, back to governments not doing their job: When that happens, when enough people resort to crime to survive (which has higher risk, lower reward, and no government benefits compared to honest work), crime becomes organised. In some cases this has led to organised crime running hospitals and schools and creating jobs and fostering small businesses, effectively doing government work without the accountability of government.
And in practically all instances of Batman, organised crime is a huge problem in Gotham City for Batman to do something about. (Although it would be WayneCorp who is selling the mobsters their hardware. Incentives.)

"Well I mean clearly it does."
That actually got me to laugh out loud.
Also I was waiting for Mr. Freeze to share his ice cream with Batman cause he had two bowls, and for this to be a somewhat wholesome ending.
Only to get hit in the gut by the last five seconds….
I laughed after the "well it clearly does" as well
Because in the Victor Fries scene you hear sirens in the background disproving it lmao
But batman wants to fight "SUPER crime"
victor getting ice cream is so comical i love it, and the ending is fantastic, having those 2 bowls one for him and his late wife is like a punch in the gut fantastic very well done
The total lack of emotion on "I’m the Joker baby" was classic
Two things:
1. Bane accidentally breaking Batman’s back again in a jovial manner.
2. That ending with Freeze and Nora hit way different.
