As always top top quality content, thanks so much for sharing. Your riding is amazing, your journey is inspirational, I picked up MTB'ing this year and loving the sport, I'm not rushing the progression, keeping it fun dialling it all in before moving up. Your insights have been so helpful and I appreciate the work you must do in the edit. Thanks mate
Great video and very well done navigating an exciting difficult trail. Good progress on your physiology experimentation. Are you a Csikszentmihalyi fan?
Thanks, I appreciate your support! I'm glad you mentioned him. I'm very interested in Flow state and it's partly the reason for my moniker. I'm not as well read on him as I'd like but I'm familiar with his overall theories and ideas about the state of Flow.. 'Flow and the Foundations of Positive Psychology' is on my must read list, so I'll be better placed to answer after this book.
Interesting video I do wonder if you were to do a 3rd run without doing the wim hoff method how would the time compare. You may have been less fatigued in part due to you carrying more speed through the rougher sections due to knowing what to expect from your previous run. Many many moons ago when i used to race and they did the 6hr enduro down the WC course a few times and i found it phyiscally alot easier to ride the course at about 90% speed vs say 50%. It would be somewhat smoother ride becuase the bike would generally skip over stuff vs getting hung up causing me to physically man handle the bike. There's a good chance it does help just curious how an additional run would stack up :) Good video as always and it defintely brightened up my day watching it from my hospital bed a few days ago. Defintely seems youve gotten your set up dialed since i met you cathkin at the start of the year :)
Yes, I had tried a third run but was held up on a few sections so hard to say what would have happened. I controlled as many variables as I could so maybe one for a future uplift? Sorry to hear you were in Hospital, hope you are on the mend. Glad to have provided some entertainment whilst there, speedy recovery mate👊🏻
@@TheFlowingScotsman Yeah thats the big problem with something like this the whole run is so long even if there is no-one in sight at the top of the run its quite likely you might catch someone half way down. I'm on the mend but its going to take a bit of time to get back to full fitness and on the bike again, the human bodies not really meant to have a collapsed lung for 4 weeks no matter how fit you are. On the brightside ill make a full recovery just need to take it easy.
Thanks mate. No it's the Wim Hof Method. I've put a link to it in the description but it has similarities with Kriya and Pranayama and other ones like Tummo, shamanic etc

Great video. Very interesting.
Thanks very much.
Lots of good research data available now. The great thing is it costs nothing.

@@scottishcarver66 Ooft not good. At least you have the positive mindset towards recovery that helps immensely!
@@TheFlowingScotsman I had to be taught to walk again when i was 13 so this is nothing :)
@@scottishcarver66 That will give you the mental strength to deal with this, no doubt! See you back on the trails before long👊🏻
