- Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said on Saturday Russia's leadership was "hyper rational" and that Ukraine would never be able to fulfil its hopes of becoming a member of the European Union or NATO. Orban, a nationalist in power since 2010, made the comments during a speech in which he forecast a shift in global power away from the "irrational" West towards Asia and Russia. "In the next long decades, maybe centuries, Asia will be the dominant centre of the world," Orban said, mentioning China, India, Pakistan and Indonesia as the world's future big powers. "And we Westerners pushed the Russians into this bloc as well," he said in the televised speech before ethnic Hungarians at a festival in the town of Baile Tusnad in neighbouring Romania.

Orban was right from the very beginning. Had the US and EU listened to him, a lot more people would be alive and Ukraine wouldn’t be getting smaller by the day.

I see Orban as the "Wise man of Europe". He is the only major European leader with feet on the ground. The West European leaders are living in an imaginary reality, a self reinforcing information sphere that is not rooted in reality. This is causing them to pursue a direction that is not in their interest. Unless they wake up now, they will have to wake up due to rude shocks, some of which are already quite visible. BS - there has never been an American or any other western aircraft carrier in the Black sea because of treaty limits. The Orkistanis in the past, got round this by calling their aircraft carriers 'heavy aircraft carrying cruisers'. Their one and only carrier is barely functional and more of a hazard to navigation, than a danger to NATO.
As for missiles on the border - this work both ways and Orkistan does not have a monopoly on this, besides submarine launched missiles can hit virtually anywhere from wherever they are launched.

In 40 years, East EU saw that the West did not bring only roses and chocolate, but also a significant economy change where the old factories were cut in pieces and sold as scrap. In 40 years, East EU saw more clear the petrodollars wars unraveling.
What RU did?! invaded UA and few weeks ago I heard some news that the RU army captured a hill in Donbas area from which UA army used to shell pro-Russian city. Look on the map and see that RU had rockets to bomb that hill from existence, firing from Russia if they wanted to "save the people" and keep them safe. There was no need trample half of UA and make a bloodbath. They could have develop a sort of iron dome to protect the Donbas if they wanted.
Reading the small print (or between the lines) there is more than meets the eyes with this war. For all of us should be a priority not to die for other (highly limited group of) people's interests.

In August 1989, 600 East Germans stampeded through a border gate operated by Hungary into Austria in what was known as the "Pan European Picnic". The event was organised by Huhgarian politicians and its emblem was a bird breaking through barbed wire.
In 1989 Hungary was in severe financial straits. The Hungarian prime minister decided he could no longer afford to secure the borders with the west and on 27 June the Foreign Ministers of Hungary and Austria symbolically cut the border fence.
Hungary had a problem with east German tourists not returning home and in 1989 there were 100,000 of them in Hungary. Normally overstayers would be sent back to East Germany on specially chartered planes but the "picnic" ,due to be held in the border crossing town of Sopron, was seen as a way of testing the Soviet response to the open border with Austria that would allow Soviet citizens to cross without permission from East Berlin.
Leaflets in German were distributed in camping sites frequented by the east Germans with instructions on how to get to Sopron.
On August 19 the first East Germans arrived and ignoring the beer and sausage on the Hungarian side, immediately rushed through the still guarded border gate with many abandoning their cars and possessions. 661 crossed.
The Hungarian minister Nemeth recalled: " I was in my office all day. I was nervous. Luckily there was no knocking on my door by the Soviet Ambassador, no telephone calls from Moscow".
In East Germany, the government thundered about counter revolution and imperialism but no action was taken against Hungary.
The border was closed after 4 hours and 6900 East germans were prevented from joining the 660 who had crossed. Prime Minister Nemeth was fearful of Kremlin retaliation but at the same time the picnic had shown him how desperate people were to get to the free west.
On 22 August 1989 he flew to west Germany and met Chancellor Kohl where he stated that no East German refugees would be deported back to the east and all would be free to leave. On 11 September 30,000 East Germans fled into Austria and by 17 October Erich Honecker was relieved of his post by the Kremlin.
This is the real, courageous Hungary, not the appeasing, colluding Hungary of 2024 and Viktor Orban.

As you are aware of it, Hungary has provided Ukraine with power (electricity) (40-42% of what they use there) and other supplies like medicine, food, generators and everything x ou can think of. Hungary has treated the wounded Ukrainian soldiers. Each day 10-13 thousands of Ukrainian refugees are being taken care of. Hungary provides them with food, medicine, toys for the kids, and also schooling for those who need it. Many stays here, many more go further.
Now as you are aware of it, there's an oil line "Friendship 2." bringing oil from Russia to Hungary through Ukraine built in 1972. Zelenskiy has closed this pipeline a week ago to force Hungary to help Ukraine to get more weapons and supply to fight Russia. Guess what, it's the same Hungary I mentioned before.
