    Here in our largest cemetary, where most famous Antwerp people are burried, you can "adopt" a neglected grave or tomb and take care of it. Then when you die you can be burried there (there's some rules though) Still this keeps the cemetary and monuments from coming in to a state of decay while still respecting the dead.

    • @HobbyOrganist
      @HobbyOrganist 23 дні тому

      You have to figure SOMEONE had keys to all of these, if not the earlier cemetary "heads" then the families certainly had them. Just think- family would actually go there, unlock the door, go in and pray at those little altars and the like, and then they stopped going, someone lost the key or relatives found an old key in a deceased family members' drawer when cleaning their belongings out, but nobody knew or remembered what the key went to.
      I suspect some of the doors that you think were locked were actually not LOCKED, or they were open at some point and close/locked after the damage was discovered.

    Ciao !!! Nessuno ti odierà in Italia se tu, nel cimitero, porti rispetto ai defunti. Devi sapere che molte tombe in rovina sono abbandonate proprio perché non è rimasto nessuno in vita da quelle famiglie che potevano curarli. Altre tombe onvece spno in rovina perché le famiglie sono povere adesso e non si possono permettere tante riparazioni. Questo cimitero però ce l'ha la maggior parte dei spazi molto belli. Fai vedere anche cos'è bello non soltanto cosa è caduto in rovina. Buon soggiorno a Napoli, è una bella città dove si mangia bene e so veste benone. Goditi la vacanza facendo dei video anche su cose belle del cimitero oppure altre case antiche. Ciao

      Sono di Roma, e ho pensato le stesse cose che hai scritto. Ma credo che loro cerchino solo ciò che è in decadenza. Anche il Verano di Roma, che è un bellissimo cimitero monumentale, ha delle parti fatiscenti, per le ragioni da te scritte.
      Effettivamente mi dà un po' fastidio che facciano vedere solo ciò che è in rovina...
      Danno una versione falsata della realtà.
      E comunque sì, Napoli è davvero una bellissima città.

    • @HobbyOrganist
      @HobbyOrganist 23 дні тому

      And then many had those ceramic portrait medallions so you could see what the person once looked like when alive! they are still made today, but the ones I saw on line come with a cheap self-stick kind of adhesive which will fail in short order, the old ones were often embedded and cemented into a little recess cut into the stone so they were in there secure from vandals prying them off.
      Wish our host for these videos would take more time on those portraits so we can see them better and more of them

    Its amazing to think that they spend all this wealth on their dead, only to be forgotten and neglected two generations latter...
    Like the beautifull lady at 4:48. Tucked away, in an abandoned corner, completely forgotten...
    Or the tiny baby at 11:40... the parents geif, now long forgotten nor cared for...
    Im so surprised, as being half Italian, I expected the care for the ancestral dead would have been much better looked after... I guess I was wrong. 😞

I’ve experienced what is called paranormal many times but I refer to it as normal. I’ve experienced things like this in places like Gettysburg. With all those spirits there I think it’s quite normal. So check it out because it’s quite apparent but moves very quickly. Kind Thanks for this very interesting and amazing tour! Either the plastering design of that outside wall was done in 2004 or the entire structure. I suspect, though, it was relating to the external plastering design.

    A lot of people saying it’s disrespectful to not upkeep these mausoleums but sadly so many family lines died out in the 20th century following two world wars so a lot of these family crypts no longer have relatives to look after them 😢😢😢

    It looks like a village for the dead. Such a shame to see so run down. You don't sound happy in your videos. Not that you want to laugh. Lot of children. Thank you for sharing it with us

    Before doing a video like that, do some research who the famous people are, learn some language so we know what is said on the stones . You are just walking around saying nothing.
