Zippers have always been my A.D.D. weak arena. Your tutorial was totally understandable. Thank you so much.
I really appreciate all these quick videos you guys have for your products.
Glad to hear it! Makes us feel good. Thanks for sharing :)
Is it possible to create a separating zipper from a 'double-pull' zipper? Thanks so much!
I really appreciate you mentioning the needle nose even though the other tool is the one you sell. I'm looking at trying riri but I'm not sure I want to buy the special pliers just yet. I'm glad I can try riri first and get the pliers later if I end up using zippers a lot. Thanks guys
Thanks, we try to give all the options.
Great instruction, difficult to see exactly what's going on though. Can you do a close up shot?
Thanks for the comment. We don't have more footage to add, but happy to help explain anything if you contact us.
Great tutorial, enjoy products purchased and appreciate quality of items received. So appreciate this video at moment. thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
Can these crimp stops be installed on as repair/replacements on zippered jackets and coats that the fabric underneath the stopper has frayed leading to the crimp "sliding" out of place and allowing the zipper to slide off track?
Also can these stops be installed with out the zipper being zipped up as shown here? ie: just fix the frayed material under the stopper and crimp new stop on to the half portion of zipper as it sits?
Thanks for the info, edited for clarity
Thanks. Helped me replace my puller.
Will these pliers work with bottom stops made for the #5 YKK zippers? The stops I have are simple “U” shaped. Thanks.
The pliers are universal and not made specifically for RIRI, so yes they should work: www.buckleguy.com/1012-zipper-stop-pliers/
Is it possible to remove the pull tab and put it back, but, now on the opposite side? What I'm trying to achieve is, currently, the pull tab is INSIDE a bag. I want to move the pull tab so it's OUTSIDE the bag. Thanks
Yes, you should be able to remove the slider and reinstall it facing the other side.
How do you use the “breaking” tool without tearing up the zipper tape? 0:45 or so…
I destroyed the cloth part - chewed it up *bad* - and was beating the hell out of the tool, and getting frustrated as Will the tool you sell - a #10, which I bought from you - *ONLY* work with a mallet like the one you showed?
Addendum to above: I found that I needed to use a small, very sharp chisel to get the zipper teeth off. Much less trouble and destruction…
How come all the videos never show a separated zipper. How do you install a bottom stop on a separated zipper?
Great question! It is because separating zippers can only be installed by Riri directly. We do sell the separating versions too though and can custom cut them to length for you if you need: www.buckleguy.com/riri-zipper-made-to-order/
Does stop go over the teeth or just beyond?
They go just beyond
Can't barely see what u are doing. Please closeup camera
