I’m watching this video a year later… there is so much that isn’t as relevant: little UI issues mentioned that have been fixed for example. With that said, I absolutely love this video. I’m not a “console war” kind of person but there are many, many people who cannot afford both systems and do have to make that relatively tough decision. I do own both but often find it overwhelming to think about which system to buy my games on, which display to connect them to, diving deep into each ecosystem, etc. I love these kind of videos because they bring be back to the basics and help me realize some things that I may have forgotten about or overlooked. With all of that said, I am a new Xbox customer with this generation. I grew up on Nintendo in my childhood and matured with PlayStation over the years. This generation was the first one where I had my own “big boy” money to spend and decided to jump in with the Series S as a GamePass machine. I have since then upgraded to the Series X and notice myself turning that system on more often lately, mainly due to GamePass. Though I’m not sure how things will pan out if more Xbox titles come to PlayStation in the future.
I own both but play the SX way more because of gamepass and I like the SX controller way more because it's more comfortable in my hand, it's also great with emulators.

Gamepass definitely amazing, but one thing to point out if you have a gaming computer - all the xbox games are available on PC. which makes PS5 the logical choice for the Sony exclusives, at the same time PS Plus subscription is also amazing with tons and tons of games to play (Spiderman , Ghost of Tsushima etc etc )
Have them both though this is the first PlayStation I've owned since the original (though I briefly had a PS4 Pro for about 2 months before I got the PS5. I wanted to test the Sony waters first). They are both great consoles and run games very similarly. Their respective exclusives make the difference and I still lean more to the XBOX side as I feel their online play, Game Pass, free cloud game storage etc. are superior. Sony does some nice things as well and the two are very similar overall. I don't think anyone buying one over the other would be dissatisfied with their purchase. I also have the Series S that I travel with and it's great as well and I would tell people to not fear they are missing out on something by saving some money and buying one (well you will be wanting more storage at some point). Image quality across them all are very similar and though Digital Foundry can nitpick the heck out of any games image quality the point is you'll be having fun even if you don't have as much grass to look at or the picture isn't razor sharp. Great time to be gaming with all the new consoles, their speed and quality of life improvements over last gen cannot be overstated.

I find that trying to play CoD is better on Xbox because it seems like Sonys servers have lag issues. Buuuut PlayStation has the better games. If I can get a game in both consoles I usually will get it on the Xbox since I a series x in the gaming room, as well as a series s in the living room. But honestly, my steam deck has been giving both of my consoles a run for their money, since I can play the same games (mostly) and sit in the living room while my wife watches tv. She doesn’t like that I play video games so being able to be with her in the same room makes it easier for her to cope lol
I’ve had the PS5 for a few months now but I’m definitely going to buy the Series X this upcoming summer for the game pass. Can’t wait to compare them side by side. I can look up these comparisons all I want, but nothing is more truthful than your OWN personal experience. 🔥
I own both Xbox series x and ps5 love them both💚💙 Xbox supports dolby vision gaming and majority multi plat games run better with higher resolution and framerates. Xbox has a game changing feature called quick resume and backwards compatiblity with physical discs and FPS boost and auto HDR for games all the way up to the original xbox, which ps5 lacks. Gamepass drops new 1st party and some third party games day 1 and has a solid game catalogue better than ps extra. Controller Ps5 is better and more next gen than xbox but adaptive triggers are mostly gimmick not all games use them and sometimes they get annoying. I disable them when playing shooters online. Xbox controller is more comfortable feeling especially the elite series 2 controller. Only reason I have my PS5 is because of the amazing and awesome 1st party exclusives xbox sadly is missing. Before watching your conclusions... XBox is obviously excellent, but I'm also a PC gamer, and I've never felt like owning one has made sense in that context. Playstation, on the other hand... I've owned every generation at this point, because it always brings something to the table my gaming PC (and Switch) doesn't. It just comes down to personal preference - what games you play, what hardware you just like more, what your friends have (if you're into multiplayer), and what else you already own (if anything). Edit: I should add - I loooooove the PS5 controller. Playing Gran Turismo 7 with it is an amazing experience. The haptic feedback over bumps and gear changes, the tightening of the triggers for braking/accelerating... this alone makes the PS5 version of the game feel like a huge leap over the prior ones.
This is an awesome unbiased comparison video. I am yet to upgrade to current-gen consoles, still on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One X... I plan to finally get the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X in 2023. BUT with Sony now producing their PlayStation first-party games for PC (Microsoft/Xbox been doing it past generations) I see my future gaming on PC as my main (probably even ONLY) gaming machine.
Honestly the thing about the Xbox i like is retro game emulation on it which it pretty cool. I don't know I've never gotten ether I was looking at ps5s but idk. But the games that ps5 has is nice
I got a Steam Deck and Series X. Best of both worlds. Play Sony exclusives and emulation on the Steam Deck and MS exclusives and Gamepass on the Series X.
I have a switch OLED, PS5, and Series X. I only bought the PS5 so I can play Spiderman and Miles Morales. My PS5 is only for the exclusives I can only play on there. If a game is offered on both consoles then I would rather get it on my Xbox. At the end of the day, it is all about preferences. Happy gaming y'all!
I have to disagree with the xbox menu. If you look at the original xbox one menu when it was released it is massively different to the one we have today
Xbox will always be my first option, even though I was raised with the PS1, PS2 and PS3. Great comparison, but what about xbox series s vs series x? Is the Series S a good option for someone who likes to play, but can't spend that much on a console?
I upgraded from a Xbox one x to a series s, and it’s a big difference, only downside is the storage, you could get the series s on sale right now to since it’s the holidays
I had all Playstation Consoles until PS4, than I switched to Xbox Series S and it was the best decission. The Game Pass is so cheap, the console is fast, Quick Resume is king and I played and enjoyed so much games through Game Pass.
@@scottd7222 lol that is spoken like a person that doesn't have a Series X/S. For a PS5, you'd have to pay $500 USD + $70 USD for a AAA game ( those games made by big studios with big budgets like Call Of Duty ). That's $570 USD without taking into account other stuff like a second controller or a headset. Meanwhile, the Xbox Series S goes for $300 USD + $15 USD per month for Game Pass, which includes access to 300+ games for no extra charge. Lets say you pay for Gamepass every month for a year, you'll pay $480 USD for the console and 300+ games. With the PS5, you pay $570 USD for the console and ONE game.
I can’t decide which one to get. I can only chose one. I like ps exclusives but i like xbox especially the controller eventhough the durability of the bumpers and d-pad is not great. I still don’t u deratand why is gamepass better than ps plus especially now in 2023 i’ve seen ps plus has ALOT of great games especially the AAA titles. My heart says xbox but brain says ps5
My girlfriend bought me the Xbox Series X last Christmas and I have no complaints a year later. With Game Pass, you have a giant library to help you kill time between the triple A titles.
In Australia, games on the xbox store are cheaper than psn more often than not. I have both consoles and prefer the ps5 due to the exclusives but the xbox store and game pass are far superior, in Australia anyway.
I prefer Xbox keep using controller battery. I bought rechargeable and whenever it dies I just swap them out and keep using it wireless rather than having to use a cable for a while.
As a person who desperately wants to play Spider Man, Horizon Forbidden West and God of War, but is also a big fan of Forza Horizon and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, I'm dead ass confused on which console to buy Dear God, please help!
Very good video. I'm team Xbox💚 For Game pass(the best gaming service ever for me), ecosystem and exclusive : Halo Infinite Forza horizon High on life Age of Empire Gears 5 And I waiting for : Redfall Forza MOTORSPORT Stalker II Hellblade II Fable Perfect dark (A little bit exomecha) (A little bit Starfield) Ereban The last case of Benedict fox PlayStation exclusive are Amazing but they are not varied enought for me, all PlayStation exclusive are Solo (narrative open World or linear) game (the only exception is Gran torismo). In Xbox ecosystem I have a lot different game style : -Solo and Multiplayer FPS and Tps -Racing -Strategy -Narrative (Tell me why) -Survival With all Xbox game studios games, The Xbox series X (and S) IS Amazing. PlayStation 5 IS good but this console is not for me.
The only reason for me to buy the PlayStation is because I’ve bought online games on it, hardware and performance wise the Xbox just wins. Barely play exclusives as upcoming new exclusives are becoming disappointing. Already played old exclusives. Xbox really does well and is so aesthetic and simple.
Series X for the casual gamer that wants to utilize there system as a multimedia device that has streaming subscriptions. PS5 for more serious gamers who closely follow the lore of sonys many single player narrative games
but both if ya can series x for tactical and shooters with the elite 2 controller which is by far the best controller and ps for there exclusive story games
Never had one reply from xbox with any issues with the 360 or xbox one....i still use my playstation 1,2,3..any issues i've had with playstation i have recieved an acknowledgement from them about the issue...and how to resolve issue......next upgrade will playstation....miss the days when you just bought a game, just put it in,and press play....somehow gaming technology has taken 10 steps backwards...spending £30 to £50 then having to spend up to 6 hours to download content before you can start to play just like in the 1980's when games came on cassete tapes
As an Xbox owner I must admit that Xbox as of right now is multiplatform games console, it doesn't have a big roster of first party games like God of War, Last of Us, Returnal etc. Halo - okay, Gears of War - good for what it's worth but that's it.
This is the first time I picked up both the Xbox and Playstation. I do not regret getting either one. Choosing just one after having both is a rough contemplation. Games aside, I honestly prefer the Xbox. It has many features that I notice is missing on the PS5. On the other hand, I miss nothing from PS5 while playing Xbox. So I'd say Xbox is the better console, but only slightly as they are extremely similar. Features that the Xbox has that I miss on PS5 include, Dolby Vision. Full RGB in 120 hertz. Always on VRR with a wider range. Quick Resume. Online group posts. Store reviews. Game Pass. Better cross play. Backwards compatibility. Fps boost and auto HDR. Those are what I can think of. And because of those nitpicks I'd say Xbox wins the nitpick war. What PS5 has over Xbox includes, Better controller haptics. That's about it. Everything else is equal, missing, or not quite as good. But since they are so similar it mostly comes down to games. If you want the PS games more, go PS. If you want Microsoft games more, go Xbox. Done. If you simply want best value for money, definitely go Xbox with Game Pass.
Frl honestly the only thing I play on my ps5 is ragnorok, ps4 exclusives with the upgrades and 3rd party games I feel work best on the tv and with friends (think fifa, the quarry and the dark pictures anthology). The rest of singleplayer games are all on my pc with gamepass. The series s is so cute tho I might get it.
@Pickle Rick I have a Series X, but the Series S is a little beast. Especially for the price, which was only $250 around black Friday and maybe still is. Insane value. I don't see much reason to pick up an Xbox if you already have a decent PC though. Unless you just want a another console to lounge on the couch with on a big TV. I've considered going PC before. But I don't think I will now. I'm plenty happy with these consoles, and I love a nice big TV to play on and a comfy controller to hold.

Awesome video bro. I have a PS5 at the moment. But if it wasn’t for the exclusives like god of war and Spider-Man I’d 100% go for an xbox
Same here
Honestly the thing about the Xbox i like is retro game emulation on it which it pretty cool. I don't know I've never gotten ether I was looking at ps5s but idk. But the games that ps5 has is nice
That is a lovely intro video
Got a series x but now ik wishing I got ps5. They just have more good exclusives I want to play
I got a Steam Deck and Series X. Best of both worlds. Play Sony exclusives and emulation on the Steam Deck and MS exclusives and Gamepass on the Series X.
Got both, and both are amazing! Xbox for Gamepass and Playstation for exclusives.
Happy gaming y'all!
very much dislike when people say your have to chose xbox or playstation, I got the xbox sx and playstation opening day
I have a gaming mouse to recommend. The Fantech Helios XD5 is the best gaming mouse I've ever tried before
Ps5 bundle with Gow Ragnarok and extra black controller, disc version. 929 cad free shipping. I am glad.
You never disappoint 🙌🏾🙌🏾
I appreciate it a lot!!
Thats what she said
Great video, hard to find someone who is not on one side or the other.
haha I try! I really love both tho
Amazing video but 8:44 is plain wrong, the Xbox UI has had a large gradual change in UI since 2013 launch, just compare the two.
Please move your ps5. There’s no air flow there and it’s going to end up choking in that badly placed spot.
I love Game pass ultimate 🤗🔥
I have to disagree with the xbox menu. If you look at the original xbox one menu when it was released it is massively different to the one we have today
PC and a PS5 is the gamer way
loved the opening, sub'ed!
@@ilm91 lol that is spoken like a person that doesn't have a ps5. Ps5 is much better and has way more games and the controller is phenomenal
@@ilm91 I have a SX and PS5 and yeah the SX is better IMO GP is great and much better than PS Plus and the controller just feels better in my hands
Xbox team
I can’t decide which one to get. I can only chose one. I like ps exclusives but i like xbox especially the controller eventhough the durability of the bumpers and d-pad is not great. I still don’t u deratand why is gamepass better than ps plus especially now in 2023 i’ve seen ps plus has ALOT of great games especially the AAA titles. My heart says xbox but brain says ps5
Same here... which one did you get?
bro always be making the quality videos
My girlfriend bought me the Xbox Series X last Christmas and I have no complaints a year later. With Game Pass, you have a giant library to help you kill time between the triple A titles.
BOTH. You should buy and use both.
nice work man. thanks
Still dying to get a full tour of the studio you showed in the beginning of the video
haha soon soon!
Series X All Day!! I just got the ps5 a few days but the Series X wins I've had it for 2 years!!
Nice vid! So many reflections on your TV. You definitely should fix it)
Need a tour of your place man, looks great.
This is a very well made video. Would you mind sharing what kind of cameras you use?
can't wait for the rs6 vid !!
hmm interesting video man. im waiting for more! keep it up
Amazing review, thank you for sharing it!
In Australia, games on the xbox store are cheaper than psn more often than not. I have both consoles and prefer the ps5 due to the exclusives but the xbox store and game pass are far superior, in Australia anyway.
i own all the current consoles and the xbox controller is way comfortable to use. but ps5 wins on graphics i love how the games looks in the ps5.
The graphics are nearly identical for both consoles I can’t tell any real
Difference.
@@nickwebb9937 For real but Ps5 has better games hands down!
I prefer Xbox keep using controller battery. I bought rechargeable and whenever it dies I just swap them out and keep using it wireless rather than having to use a cable for a while.
as always love hearing ur voice ❤️
As a person who desperately wants to play Spider Man, Horizon Forbidden West and God of War, but is also a big fan of Forza Horizon and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, I'm dead ass confused on which console to buy
Dear God, please help!
I love PS for Fifa and Xbox for everything else
Tf fifa is on Xbox 💀
best part of ps5 is the games so L
the qualityyyyyyyyy💯💯💯🔥🔥🔥🔥
⬆️⬆️Thanks for watching 🤗

PlayStation 👍🏻
Very good video. I'm team Xbox💚 For Game pass(the best gaming service ever for me), ecosystem and exclusive :
Halo Infinite
Forza horizon
High on life
Age of Empire
Gears 5
And I waiting for :
Redfall
Forza MOTORSPORT
Stalker II
Hellblade II
Fable
Perfect dark
(A little bit exomecha)
(A little bit Starfield)
Ereban
The last case of Benedict fox
PlayStation exclusive are Amazing but they are not varied enought for me, all PlayStation exclusive are Solo (narrative open World or linear) game (the only exception is Gran torismo). In Xbox ecosystem I have a lot different game style :
-Solo and Multiplayer FPS and Tps
-Racing
-Strategy
-Narrative (Tell me why)
-Survival
With all Xbox game studios games, The Xbox series X (and S) IS Amazing.
PlayStation 5 IS good but this console is not for me.
Great comparison! Can you provide a link for your TV console and center table? They look amazing.
Yeah. I was looking for that tv link too!!
That tv looks insanely good and bezel-less
The only reason for me to buy the PlayStation is because I’ve bought online games on it, hardware and performance wise the Xbox just wins. Barely play exclusives as upcoming new exclusives are becoming disappointing. Already played old exclusives. Xbox really does well and is so aesthetic and simple.
you could maybe increase the sound next video?
Where is the coffee table from
i had both and sold both of them and got smart and got a gaming pc so much better
Why anyone would have white walls and white furniture is beyond me. It's gotta be hard to keep clean.
Series X for the casual gamer that wants to utilize there system as a multimedia device that has streaming subscriptions. PS5 for more serious gamers who closely follow the lore of sonys many single player narrative games
Wtf Trash comment
I have both consoles, but i gotta be honest i play mostly on the ps5. As of now i only keep the series x, cause of gta4 and halo mcc.
What ever i want ,I always have my console to go, I don’t care what other have to say, i like one more than the other.
Where did you get the coffee table and cabinet that's under the tv?
but both if ya can series x for tactical and shooters with the elite 2 controller which is by far the best controller and ps for there exclusive story games
Bro if you want the ps5 to look better get some dbrand plates, believe me its gonna look better then xbox... btw i m for playstation team
Not sure that evaluating the unboxing experience should affect the overall review.
what camera you use for the video, btw nice video?
Super Video bro intro really looks cool
Good video don’t mind either console
Love your videos man. Your apartment is really nice. Could you do an apartment tour
PS5 for me, them games go hard!
As an Xbox owner I must admit that Xbox as of right now is multiplatform games console, it doesn't have a big roster of first party games like God of War, Last of Us, Returnal etc. Halo - okay, Gears of War - good for what it's worth but that's it.
Couldn’t be any happier with both Ps5 and Series X! ❤️
Even tho i be playing the same games on both lol 😅
Which do you prefer because I'm trying to get one of them
What TV are you using?
What tv-shelf do you use-looks Great btw.
I have both. PS5 for exclusives and Xbox Series X for everything else.
Features that the Xbox has that I miss on PS5 include,
Dolby Vision.
Full RGB in 120 hertz.
Always on VRR with a wider range.
Quick Resume.
Online group posts.
Store reviews.
Game Pass.
Better cross play.
Backwards compatibility.
Fps boost and auto HDR.
Those are what I can think of. And because of those nitpicks I'd say Xbox wins the nitpick war.
What PS5 has over Xbox includes,
Better controller haptics.
Thanks for sharing !!
Ps5 outperforms the series x
@Pickle Rick I have a Series X, but the Series S is a little beast. Especially for the price, which was only $250 around black Friday and maybe still is. Insane value.
I don't see much reason to pick up an Xbox if you already have a decent PC though. Unless you just want a another console to lounge on the couch with on a big TV.
I've considered going PC before. But I don't think I will now. I'm plenty happy with these consoles, and I love a nice big TV to play on and a comfy controller to hold.
@@sawdust8691 I had a series s it is a beast but PS5 just seems to perform better than Xbox
For me, games of PlayStation are better
