@@ezequielrajoy5024 I agree! I've been listening on repeat the whole day, just gets better and better. In fact one thing I really like with Deftones is that I almost never catch the best songs on the first listen, that kind of means for me at least, that there is more to it. Small things become huge and everything unveils. Of course some bangers just blow you away, but for example on this album it took a while to feel songs like The spell of mathematics and Radiant city, and then they became my favorites when it clicked.
@Death Hand Studios I guess that’s fair. I’m all for creativity but Mr. Bungle just isn’t for me. In some ways it seems like they are trying too hard to be different
This whole album was perfect. It was exactly what I needed to hear as a 35 yr old. Been a fan for over 20 years and OHMS is the perfect album for the adult Deftones fan.
They just seem.to get better even after all these year's, they change it up. It's more of to me just how unique they're. They have never made a bad album, there all different. They got another 10 year's in them, if they want to keep going. Like I said they haven't skipped a beat, they're as good as they were over 20 year's ago.
I remember browsing a record store in 1998 and this big bearded biker guy pointed at a CD and told his friend: This band is awesome. It was a Deftones CD. They then just walked away without saying anything else. I bought that album out of curiousity on the spot. Now I'm still here.
I was working at a coffee shop in 99. One of my coworkers put on adrenaline. I heard 7 words and I asked him, "who is this?!"...His reply "It's Deftones, man"....hooked ever since.

Brings a feeling of something like an old person who has lived a long life, and now it's time to go. They're standing on the shore, looking out far, thinking about everything. The seagulls and waves. The warm breeze. The end approaching. I think the whole song is a testament to humanity and how one day our time will come.
The beginning is so soothing and in a matter of seconds it gets heavy where all I can do is head bang slowly wit a smile. Then it gets calm again and you hear birds and the ocean and then you hear the heavy ness again and then you hear the chorus Ooooooooooooo . This song is sexy ass hell. Deftones is the real highlight to 2020. Flawless album
This completely reminds me of an interview Stephen Carpenter did with.. I think ‘Kerrang’ in early 2000’s where he spoke about the making of ‘Around The Fur’ & ‘White Pony’ and how music for him was as simple as just the sound of your footsteps when you are on a stroll or a night out, and the simplicity of it can deliver the tempo to how you want to structure the music you’re writing. I was awestruck as I read and listened to ‘Feiticeira’ and ‘Passenger’ on headphones whilst reading the mag in a bookstore.. thinking about his conceptualisation for the development of his riffs.. it was beautiful.. man, those were the days! Thank you so much, Deftones!

This song and album is a trip. It feels like it is from different time periods in the past 40 years. Some parts feel like 80's, some nu metal/NIN influence, and some modern Metal touches. And the transition from Pompeji into the Link is Dead is almost one of the best song transitions out there.
this album has been out for almost three years and this is without a shadow of a doubt, my favorite Deftones song of all time. The guitars are chunky, the bass is real smooth, Chino's voice is top notch, and T H E S Y N T H S.......... perfection in audio form.
The ending is like someone made a .rar of every possible feeling you can experience and condensed it into one thing. Every time I hear it, I just kinda stop and think about everything and nothing at the same time. I think about the good and the bad, the strange and the regular. It just completely freezes me. I can see images moving in my mind, time passing by, people living their lives. There is this soothing insignificance of existence attached to it.
Why did I just start tearing at the synth outro holy crap. I saw them live once after waiting for years and years waiting for them to be close by. It was life changing. Deftones is life changing. One of the Best vocalists to exist period

Lyrics
[Verse 1]
Deep in the bottomless depths of the ocean
Empty bodies we sink
Open your eyes, you smile and release me
We slip down beneath and
[Chorus 1]
Jesus Christ, you watch us fail
We raise our glasses and drink in hell
[Verse 2]
Locked in the core of the tower, I'm patient
In no hurry to leave
Life has been lonely, it might be forever
Making hard to believe in
[Chorus 2]
Jesus Christ, we hold you to blame
You gave your life, but we died in vain
[Post-Chorus 1]
And ooh, we drink from the fountain of intent
And ooh, we choke on the water, then repent
[Verse 3]
In the street violent behavior
In chaos where it's warm
Black omens call our cage, it's electric
So we signal, we wait for
[Chorus 3]
Jesus Christ, God raised you as
We raised our glasses and drank in hell
[Post-Chorus 2]
Ooh, we sip from the fountain of intent
And ooh, we choke on the water, then repent
Ooh, we drink from the fountain of intent
Ooh, we choke on the water, then repent
