MotorGuide Xi series update - Do it!

- MotorGuide recently released a new software update for their Xi series trollingmotors. In this video we go through how we did the update on a Simrad NSS evo3S chartplotter. This update fixes various issues when using a Lowrance or Simrad chartplotter to control the trollingmotor through a NMEA GPS gateway kit. It's definetely something you will want to do!

NOTE: It's very important that you follow the steps in the instructions that follow the update, they contain important information about which models that are included for the update and spesific instructions for the Xi3 models.
My update today was perfect as well. All functions are exact and smooth. Anchor is dead on, as is route following, and speed control by 1/10th mph increments. Well done Motorguide. Excellent video Team K. Thank you!

Och hur vet man om den är uppdaterad med dongel om man köper den begagnad?

@@TeamKrokodille är det något dom gör från fabrik eller ska man själv uppdatera med dongel?
@@martinaugustsson7562 nye motorer kommer nå med «dongle oppdateringen» installert fra fabrikken. 🙂

@@martinaugustsson7562 det er veldig vanskelig for oss å svare på, men du finner informasjon om dette i linken i beskrivelsen. Jeg har fått informasjon at SWUP22 oppdateringen kan kjøres uavhengig av dongle oppdatering som kom tidligere, men har også hørt litt ulike erfaringer knyttet til dette. Det er mange faktorer som spiller inn, modell, gateway, software på plotter m.m. Kan dessverre ikke si noe mer sikkert, anbefaler å kontakte din lokale MotorGuide forhandler om du er usikker! Sorry to hear you’re still having issues Chris. The update is definetely not a joke, but actually does exactly what it’s meant to do. There are many factors that might have gone wrong during the update you did, it’s very important that you have a trolling motor that have allready done the dongle update and that the update instructions are followed. If you get the red blinking light after update, or the update stops, you should run the SWUP07 update. If you’re still having issues you might have a faulty gps-antenna or motherboard. Also make sure you have sufficient power on your NMEA network. Hope you manage to solve your issues, good luck! 🙂
