Last one got me. I was raised by my single mom. We could never afford to go on vacation. I always spent holidays cooking (always from scratch because it's cheaper), cleaning and doing errands for my mom from a young age. I used to loath it, but when I got older I understood how much she really did and now I enjoy any little thing I can do to help.
There are a lot of Chinese tourists that visit Harvard and when I worked there I was moving stuff around and one time I dropped a box and one of the Chinese tourists helped me instead of just walking by.
Wonderful to know you good to your parents. They won't always be there. By the age I was 22, both of mine passed away. My kids are older than 22 now, happy I can be there for them.
I loved this video so much guys, I totally agree with Mike when he says lots of stuff is over-reported while no one cares to talk about ispirational stories that could actually encourage us and let us see the good in the people. You guys are really fun together and that shows even more now that you can talk freely without pre written stuff to say.
Omg, this video was sooo cute ! Haha and I love how Mike and Dan talk about their parents at the end and how they try to repay them for all the things they've done for them
The first story really got me. It takes some devotion to carry your friend around for three years. Especially when you're at the age when you need to be concentrating on your own future and still finding the effort to help you friend out on top of all that.
There are great individuals everywhere in this world. We just hear about it when the social media broadcast it. My husband also carry his classmate for several years when he was in China. I also care for my mom when she was in the hospital and now she's walking as fast as before. These things come naturally when a person understand and care for another person. Look around in your surrounding and see the act of kindness with strangers, friends and family. We grow up with many helping hand in our lives. The difference is if we appreciate it or not and do we also give someone else this kind of help.
Omg. First of all I applaud the fact you see what's missing in the world. I agree that marriage vows don't seem to mean the same thing anymore. I love that fact that you both agree on that. Thank you for posting these heart warming acts.
It seems that Dan took a very light hearted approach to this video and Micky took a very serious tone to this. And those attributes kinda lashed out with one another here.
love this video. it's great to finally see something positive because there's always good and bad to everything and everybody. I'm so tired of negative media reporting. it's not even reporting, it's brainwashing. good job guys.
I grew up in a Western family where emotions, touching, and hugs were frowned upon. After I went to college and my mom became very ill with a progressive disease, I came to appreciate the value of saying "I love you" and hugging. For a long time it made both my parents and myself uncomfortable, but eventually we started to get used to it. I would much rather have told my mom I love her every Skype call and her be uncomfortable than for her to die and me regret that I never told her.
Nice video. Very nice stories. Great job guys. I would like to see a Double Chen wagon challenge. Dan pulls Mike around town in a wagon. Maybe a pumpkin too. Meet people . Get reactions. Tell them you are doing it for charity. (As a bonus we have another video too) I pledge ten bucks...
Could you two get any cuter? For me, it's a tie. The most attractive thing a man can do is be good with children or be devoted and good to his parents. Mike, your plan to buy your parents a house is awesome. I so hope you can do it! Dan, I hope your mom's health improves because it sounds like she has a wonderful son to help her.
Thanks guys nice stories I like how you guys speak of your parents now a days allot of people are jerks or ungrateful to their parents it's upsetting when you see just how hard they work I applaud you guys damm a car though? #Goals
Thank u guys so much for this video and all the others u guys have made ^o^ I understand what u Mike mean about not kissing, hugging or saying i love u to ur mom, cause the same goes for me and my mom, but we're still close ^ω^
I really liked this video, the stories were all really touching. The end was funny hahaha I'm latin and families tend to be VERY affectionate with each other. But I'm actually not the type of person that likes to hug/kiss and I also cringe whenever my mom says something sappy or tries to hug me
Sometimes divorce is unavoidable. I was married to man who only loved me for what I did for him not for just me. We were married for 13 years. I pulled him out of poverty. Paid his college debt so he could get his bachelor's degree. I supported us solely the 1st 3 years of our marriage and so on and so forth. When it got to where I helped him To achieve all I could, he began to abuse me to the point my dad was afraid he was going seriously hurt or kill me he told me to leave so I did. then I found out there was another woman in the picture. I take my marriage vows very serious, so it was hard for me. We divorced a year later. It's been 2 years since I left him and I still cry sometimes. Yet as much as I wanted the marriage to last I don't see how I could have stayed under those circumstances
I can kind of see why Dan found the story about the man who wandered around the streets for his wife for two years and pick up dogs along the way as kind of comical. And Mike buying his parents a car and a house?! How rich is he? Damn.
but now you know how not to raise your children in the future! I'm sorry for you & your brother, take it as a lesson...I know how it is to deal with a 'complicated dad'...only please never give up!
♥I was feeling a bit sad today. This is so heart warming. Love is a blessing even if it hurst.♥ Am I such a weirdo that I was thinking all this stories can be an anime or kdrama argument? !!!
Dan: I will put you in a wagon Mike: what am I a pumpkin Hahahaha omg when ever that came up in the video I would laugh so hard my dads all staring at me and giving me a look I just kept on laughing I loved the stories there all so sweet we need more stories like these the news is all about the negative. Love you guys
I empathise with Dan. I'm 16 and me and my mom still hug and I still kiss her on her cheek and she kisses me on my cheek. In asia, it's like sorta norm. I mean not many teens nowadays show their affection to their parents or hang out with them but there are still teens and people who do. Plus I'm from Singapore.
Golden week thingy is china's national day to celebrate the establishment of PRC( mainland China basically) in 1949. It's a one week public holiday, so everyone will just go tour arnd the place. This year Japan was No.1 oversea travelling destination for golden week
It's like impossible to find someone in China once that person is missing. I hope he did but I think it's kinda hopeless. That's why the story is so touching, because this old man is chasing after something impossible
that's not a motorcycle in the sense that most of the western world thinks of them btw - that's one of the electric type that are all over Beijing. I totally want one of those to get around the city.
+JediMasterCheryl I've heard that women from the west who move to China get a lot less male attention there and feel lonely. Is that true in your case? :D
+MassiveMate Skyrim I do sense that this coculd be a problem for some women, but several young Chinese men have huge crushes on me. LOL (students!) I'm involved with a guy from Baltimore however. We just spent my holidays together (on my way back to Beijing tomorrow). I don't feel lonely though. I'm over 40 so the attention issue isn't such a big deal for me. I'm a university professor so travel and work go with the territory in my particular field. Most of my friends there are western and married but I do have a lot of friends - so I'm not lonely. :)
+JediMasterCheryl Oh, I assumed you were single. Then, of course, you shouldn't need extra male attention. :) From perspective of a European guy, it's very easy to make friends in China (At least the main cities). And, from what you've said, I'm guessing it's the same for western women as well. But I feel sorry that your work is in Beijing and not Shanghai. I don't think there's any other Chinese city that can compare to Shanghai..... Nostalgia.
What the heck did you do Mike to be sent to China? That's Crazy. Dan my mum can't text at all. I'm not teaching her either, it's not worth being snapped at when she can't grasp it lol
"sappy texts are not welcome here." xD lol, I seriously cringe when my mom does that "I love u".... like wtf that's so weird coming from a Chinese mom!
It's not her school uniform, it's more like sport wear that they can wear during school when they do sport or when they are outside / away from school. The schools allow it, it is not unusual at all in China
That kid that helped her mother work is most amazing doughter ever.
Awww, you guys are the sweetest, sappiest guys I know.....it's awesome. :)

I see so many sad/outrageous/ridiculous/angry stories about China, thanks for this heartwarming one :)
This is my fave video from you guys.. thanks for sharing the stories and your own
family stories.. All the best to you and your moms.
The first story really got me. It takes some devotion to carry your friend around for three years. Especially when you're at the age when you need to be concentrating on your own future and still finding the effort to help you friend out on top of all that.
Those were some heartwarming stories , it got me thinking on what should i do to make my family feel at ease
Really great video guys, thanks so much! Keep up the awesome inspiring work!

You are both filial sons. You exhibit the tradition values of old. It makes me happy to see this.
I looooved this video! I think it is amazing when you guys talk about your parents and I was very touched.
Omg. First of all I applaud the fact you see what's missing in the world. I agree that marriage vows don't seem to mean the same thing anymore. I love that fact that you both agree on that. Thank you for posting these heart warming acts.

Double Chen speaks truth "Nowadays, words of people mean squat!".
Loved the video! Gotta admit though, I probably laughed way too hard trying to imagine Dan pulling Mike around in a little wagon :D

Hi!! I love this video! keep up the great work!
"Yi" , or righteousness, is one of the most importance principles of Confucianism. We want to see more of them in the modern society.
Rite. I wish we Chinese can keep that value going on.
Just like doing the right thing, it is always not easy. However, with enough people sticking to it things will eventually change.
Was Chen in the purple getting emotional towards the end? Awwww
Mike's shirt getting a little too tight towards the end..LOL
Mike's shirt getting a little too tight towards the end..LOL

That poor man. If he wasn't insane before she went missing, he went insane the day she wasn't there. 😟

ppl say vows and don't even understand the meaning. I am struggling in my marriage but I can't give it up.
All I want no that old man lost his wife did he finally found his wife in end
It's like impossible to find someone in China once that person is missing. I hope he did but I think it's kinda hopeless. That's why the story is so touching, because this old man is chasing after something impossible
He should appear on that chinese tv show that finds lost people. That tv show has a 80% success rate.
Where's the "basically-bell"?

Why do Chinese students wear their uniforms outside of school like the girl helping her mom clean the street?
It's not her school uniform, it's more like sport wear that they can wear during school when they do sport or when they are outside / away from school. The schools allow it, it is not unusual at all in China
