We owe it to them, and lots of other bands at the time, for generes like Psychedelic and Metal. It is classical music, but we just call it Rock n’ Roll.
He isn't high. He makes total sense and is making excellent sociological and musical sense. His comments ( and I am a classical musician among other styles) are dead on. He mentions the Aeolian cadence, which is a sophisticated term for the Beatles scale often used which is simply the notes from A to A on the piano. A minor scale with no raised leading tone. Paul did smoke a lot of herb but seems terrifically coherent here and is basically saying we are the Mozarts of this era. Not at all a pompous statement.

Idk about you but when me and my friends get stoned or take some psychedelics we sometimes end up talking about how and why music is good, the social and political state of certain counties and how it affects us. Just because your high doesn’t mean you can’t make sense. However, you can definitely smoke the biggest doobie ever or have a full meal of shrooms and be laying down on the couch, motionless, in a different world as you stare off in space.
I still don't think he looks/sounds stoned here. I mean....he may have been for all I know, but other than out of an assumption that he often was, I don't think what he is saying or the way he is saying it is objectively any indication that he was at this particular point in time.

Yeah. I don't know why whoever posted this thinks Paul was "stoned out of his mind". I mean, maybe he was at the time--but he's not doing anything unusual that would indicate that he was.
Paul was the most lucid of all the Beatles, was the one who had his act together the most and frankly The Beatles wouldn't have been successful in the late sixties without his leadership
What indication was there here that he was "stoned out of his mind"? Yea, he may have smoked a joint prior to this interview but to say "out of his mind" would lead one to believe he was going to say or do something outrageous, when in fact, he didn't. I would be disgruntled at the misleading title, but since I'm a Beatles fan, I didn't mind watching it anyway.
Fascinating. How is it determined the chap is "high" and "out of his mind"? Sounds like a very interesting perspective, and clear to me. Actually pretty inspiring!
+Stigma No one implied that, calm down. And for the record, just because one couldn't articulate their thoughts while high, which does happen, does not at all mean they are stupid. BUT getting really high can very often make one APPEAR 'stupid' to someone who has no clue what's going on, for sure.

CooManTunes You ARE quite funny. One opinion is more logical than another when neither is truly known? You're explanation is laughable as I ask you, what is he showing that reflects being stoned? Are you high?
plus , he loos stoned (eyes)
Yeah. I don't know why whoever posted this thinks Paul was "stoned out of his mind". I mean, maybe he was at the time--but he's not doing anything unusual that would indicate that he was.
I agree with risingbull84. Paul doesn't seem stoned out of his mind at all.
Paul was the most lucid of all the Beatles, was the one who had his act together the most and frankly The Beatles wouldn't have been successful in the late sixties without his leadership
It has been said that Paul was the most responsible of the Beatles and took the process of making their music very seriously. He was the workhorse.
The only person stoned is the guy who created that caption.
He ain't stoned!! Just paul...☺
R.I.P. headphone users @ 0:42
My other 2 headphone favorites: children of the sun and steve miller band threshold.
Lmao😂
Title should be changed to "Paul McCartney gives a perfectly coherent interview "
If that's stoned out of his mind, remind me to NEVER party with you, Mr. Amish man!
Fascinating. How is it determined the chap is "high" and "out of his mind"? Sounds like a very interesting perspective, and clear to me. Actually pretty inspiring!
The drugs just increased his genius and knowledge. I want whatever he is taking
That’s why he got George Martin to secretly write his music behind the scenes.
He's not stoned, for the love of God.
Paul's not stoned here, or if he had smoked a joint, it was mild. He's just being Paul here.
+Charmian O'Brien Smoking a joint doesn't make you stupid, that's just propaganda
+Stigma No one implied that, calm down. And for the record, just because one couldn't articulate their thoughts while high, which does happen, does not at all mean they are stupid. BUT getting really high can very often make one APPEAR 'stupid' to someone who has no clue what's going on, for sure.
I love how Paul is saying: you know😍😘😂
My friend injected himself 4 whole marijuanas. He died that day. Dont use weed.
hahahahahahaha I ate 3 whole marijuanas and then drove the bus ..people told me I was the happiest person theys have ever seen
pierre bravento That's impossible; you die after only 2 marijuanas.
Hahaha .. Stop or I will pee my pants ..haha
dont like this, you know its people like you that ruin legalisation efforts all over the world, intelligent people that try there hardest and KNOW it takes atleast 5 marijuana's to kill, not 4 you ballsack
If you think Paul is stoned in this, Baby you need to get out more.
I have no experience with being high, getting high or watching someone else who's high, so maybe I'm missing something, but he seems normal to me.
Everyone in the comment section is right, Paul is totally _not_ stoned, he's talking like he normally does in interviews. He's very intelligent and he makes a lot of good comments in this vid. Paul McCartney. What a classy guy- then AND now.
Stoned on what? Life? Speech? Memories? If he's stoned, he's certainly NOT very good at "it". How would he act if he WASN'T stoned? I think YOU need to get stoned, as you certainly don't how to find someone who is.
+Dann DaMann You can't prove that he's not stoned just like the uploader can't prove that he is. What's a FACT is that Paul did like to use drugs...so, Elvis316's claim is far more auspicious and likely than yours.
CooManTunes You ARE quite funny. One opinion is more logical than another when neither is truly known? You're explanation is laughable as I ask you, what is he showing that reflects being stoned? Red eyes? No. What other tell tale sign other than your claim that "Paul did like to use drugs...so" suggests that he is "under the influence" of something? That's my question. So no. Either give me some bodily expression that absolutely says STONED, or Elvis is not FAR MORE AUSPICIOUS. I really wonder if you even know what being stoned is like. I'm a medical cannabis patient.
Dann DaMann
I'm a medical cannabis patient too, little guy.
CooManTunes So, answer my questions then, big guy.
Julian Dunn?? Do you need help in posting etiquette? Is that supposed to say something?
"If you've got power, you got to use for the good!" I have that quote on my wall
Lol apparently a little buzzed but chill is "stoned out of his mind"
1:35 Check that pro gamer move Paul just did
I don't know if he was stoned or not, but I'm sober, and what he said made sense to me.
1:44 he says: got knighted.
this is like ‘68? Macca can see the FUTURE!!!
Yeah that’s wild 😯
HA! I didn't get baited by the title, I just click on every video suggestion I get with a beatle on the cover, specially Sir McCartney.
Matías Ibañez ME TOO
Moronic clickbait title. This is pure insight and wisdom. And the guy was probably under 25 at the time
Yes! Don’t subscribe Elvis316! He is stoned!
I don’t see the stoned part, he was talking very normally.
Am I missing something? This seems just like a good interview with an interesting artist
The person who titled this video was stoned out of their mind when they came up with it.
Not stoned. Look at those beautiful "clear" eyes. I cant get over how handsome this man is.
Paul is a living legend and the greatest singer songwriter of this century. He's also incredibly inspired and prolific. Can't wait to her McCartney 3!
The mix of Lucy in the sky is oddly good in this video???? 🤨
Sounds like he's making perfect sense to me....anyone who hears him speaking intangibly may be out of THEIR mind!!
