If Gary Teichmann still captain at the 99 RWC...boks would've defeated Australia
Weird that Mallet preferred Anton Leonard over Teichsmann
Kiwis say the same thing about Buck Shelfords axing as All Blacks captain in 1990. If he was retained, the ABs would’ve won the 1991 RWC. Would that have been the case? Don’t know. But it makes us wonder.
@@St_AngusYoung Yeah thats right...Both were man of men...but I have to say Sir Buck Shelford was the God of War!!!!
in their sleep
Also Honibal, shouldn't have been dropped..The best 10 of that time, solid defender, and a clever playmaker..Best of the best.
Building a team takes time, Teich was well respected and deserved to retain a Bok jersey and captaincy, I went 1999 World Cup and still today blame Mallett for the loss, that team was as good as 95 World Cup but lacked experienced on field leadership. Joost will always be a great Scrumhalf but not as great captain, he is not to blame it was Mallett that I never considered a great coach, still today full of himself.
Teichman was well respected by kiwis, couldn't believe it when he was dropped
Only Bok team to be undefeated in the Tri Nations/RC. Legends.
I was there as a 16-year-old. What a game and what a team - chock-full of my childhood heroes
That pass to Lomu at 1:58 was so forward, the linesman must have been blind.
🙄🙄
Back then springboks didn't even need a coach.
My fav SA squads had Gary Teichmann leading them, cracking team
Didnt know vanilla ice played boks 15
I hooe the boks can do this tomorrow and win
that’s what the Boks are known for
maybe not last week, but yesteday!!
Yes they showed them all
I was there
I enjoyed his Haka story.😄
Im pretty sure that wasn't John Hart's last test as coach. He would oversee three more SA vs AB tests with 2 AB wins in the 3N the following year and a loss in the Bronze final at the RWC 99.
He was probably taking about how at the time it looked likey he was gonna get fired as coach, I remember everyone was saying Henry should get the job
By New Zealand standards this was a poor All Blacks team.
