She looks absolutely beautiful. Not only on the outside but on the inside. The woman is the definition of a star. To this day we still love her. She's timeless.
Elizabeth did a very kind deed for a dear friend of mine who was dying of A.I.D.S. It lifted him out of his sadness and dark fog! She did this without anyone knowing she was there. No cameras, no write up about it either. And that is just one sick person, she helped millions! She is in a very beautiful place in Heaven!
She was 61 when this event took place and she was as gorgeous as ever. A woman of unbearable beauty, class, compassion, and love. Her multitudes of marriages and divorces pale in the shadow of the love the world had for her. She was the personification of the word "star" and "diva" in every since of the world for the second half of the Twentieth Century. God rest her beautiful soul
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this woman. I had a friend that passed away to AIDS in 1991 and he said that her being supportive was something that gave him the will to try and go on when none of the drugs were working. I will never forget this and will never stop loving and now missing this beautiful (inside and out) creature. She was a friend to us all. God BLESS and Keep you, Elizabeth....always....
Stunningly beautiful lady. She was so down to earth and worked so hard to help others with her charity work. Also a fantastic actress. Still miss this great lady.
George Cukor said of Elizabeth: She has the rarest of gifts, the gift of simple kindness. She treated the lowest stage hand as well as her leading man. Elizabeth was a Lady, and everyone who ever met her, with the possible exception of 2 or 3 of her husbands, loved her.
I love her for who she is...you can always notice she didn't like the questions asked but at the end when asked about her dress and jewelry - she slightly gasped and then quips back "and they're mine"...- that's why we lover her. She was real.
"And it's mine!!!" LOL... Go Elizabeth! Truly, truly a great star. She belongs in that rare category with Marilyn and Marlon.... A great beauty and talent.
What a class act this stunning beautiful lady was . She was one hell of a friend to the gay community all her life and she will always be in our hearts
This is an amazing moment. Many times she had said in the past that she really didnt like doing these q&a with the press...I can see it but she still manages to remain super classy and witty. when she is asked who made the dress and says "Valentinoi", she's asked "and the necklace?" She says "Van Cleef & Arpels", the press knows it must be a hefty piece of jewelry because of their reaction as she leaves, she then kills them by turning around and saying - "and it's mine". Pure Superstar....
a TRUE tALENT AND an amazing beauty of a woman...Hollywood is not Hollywood without you.....You were just MAGIC! Her voice was so sweet and a true heart of a lady....RIP Liz, we will miss you:-(
Only Elizabeth could outshine a Valentino gown and a million dollars woth of gems. She was a shining star who lived each day with a passion for love, life and above all CARING. So many are still alive today leading productive lives because she was the 'Champion for HIV/Aids awareness around the world. She looked stunning on this night receiving the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian award and her speech was magnificent. Elizabeth LIVED & we will remember her legacy forever with Passion & love.
Already 2 years since "Elizabeth Taylor" has passed away.About ayear later at the 2012 Academy Awards. When the "Memoriam" was shown, they only showed 1 picture of Elizabeth(from a early 1950's picture)and no one really clapped & cheered loudly for 1 of the "last great movie queens" from the golden era of films.
I believe this is after she received Jean Herscholt Award. To see all of the Incomparable Elizabeth, check out post Elizabeth Taylor accepts Jean Herscholt Award! So many lives have been saved thanks to Elizabeth's courage!RIP dearest Dame Elizabeth! 🏆 💎 💜 💖🏳️🌈 👑 🕊 🕊 🕊
"Elizabeth Taylor" Miss Charm!.. She is, the same one, shining, hypnotically beckoning and inaccessible, from us inexorably retreating Universe "Elizabeth - Woman of Women". I can’t help but admire you. I look at the screen - and tears drip. The thunder of enthusiastic applause has subsided - You appeared in the world, being great prose!.. Blue eyes, their bottomless depths, Conquered the souls of giants. Internally - gullible and modest. Externally - the noise of the palace fountain! From a calm note to an inner tear - Sometimes she was obedient, sometimes naughty ... She is cute and enchanting, fabulously beautiful! - Refined feminine forms. Exciting our blood with its charisma, With the gift of sensual hypnosis - Sometimes, she quickly flew like a comet, through life - Sometimes, our beauty just blossomed, being a shy rose: Caravel among fishing boats; Queen, in the midst of ordinary people; Cleopatra! - Passionately, but with genuine care... Her femininity radiated everywhere! Having absorbed life with a field blade of grass, Keeping the spirit - with a share of the lovely eccentricity of the wind, by the bird - Shining with witchcraft nature, Great! “She is a true sovereign!” Woman - a shining world; Mother-night of the universal beginning - With the light of the moon, she has silvered us, She sanctified us with crystal clearness!.. She swam softly through the sky like a young month. She smiled at us in a pink sunset ... The time of triumph has stopped - It was marked by thunder and lightning! October 9 - 10, 2019 (K.S.) St. Petersburg
Not true. They did show 1 picture of her but they also played a clip of her 1961 Oscar acceptance speech AND her wink from 'Cleopatra' AND closed out the memoriam with her. Pretty big honor. And it's rude to clap for each individual during the segment. It should always be at the very end.
and because I am older....I can actually recall that it was actress Morgan Fairchild who first bravely fought for gays....not Liz. Liz came along and bumped her right off the map but nonetheless it was Morgan and only Morgan for awhile.
The FIRST star to speak out about AIDS was Morgan Fairchild. And she was a huge star at the time. Liz, who needed a gig, bumped her out. her career was going nowhere because no one would insure her for more than 1 days work....due to all her addictions and drama. I am not saying what Liz did for AIDS was in any way wrong BUT just clarifying the FACTS.
I've always considered her the begining of the gross trend in Hollywood of conspicuous consumption while touting and living off the tax perks of the non-profit system. Plenty of other stars years ago spoke out on how gross they thought the diamond consumption and jet set lifestyle was, yet now it is everywhere. Repulsive when there were and are so many needy people, especially when these types write off all their "charity work" and her kids are family are still living off the tax payer supported system.
She looks absolutely beautiful. Not only on the outside but on the inside. The woman is the definition of a star.
To this day we still love her. She's timeless.
So very true!🌹💕🇮🇹🇬🇧🇺🇸
I notice stars of that era had grace, style, poise, and perfect diction.

She was a rare jewel herself. One in a hundred million.

Wow...you seem to know more about her than she knew of herself. 😂 All of her husbands loved her.
I have few heroes. She is one of them. Thank you for all the lives you saved. For the dignity you gave so many. Thank you.

@19myself91 Born in Hampstead, London, but her parents were americans. She was both american and british. She lived in the UK from 1932 to 1939.
And it's mine ! ❤
She certainly was a beauty in her heyday......and she certainly is one here too at the ripe old age of 81...
The only star who has a lot of jewels. . . ALL HERS.
She used to treat me to Tuesday Mojitos at The Abbey. So much juice. Those were the days. Actress. Legend. Hero.
+flenif2247 I guess Cleopatra and Who's Afarid of Virgina Wilf weren't anything then huh?

@hornyaguilerafan You bet! The homeless guy!

That wasn't bad; maybe the lady has grown up. He panting display at one set of awards had my aunt comment, "that woman's on drugs".
*yawn* your'e boring me. and ps dont think anything it obviously strains you.
