This song was so popular that when MTV had vote for song daily countdown show, Dial MTV, to play for the day, it had to be retired because it always won.

It was retired after 100 wins, but those wins were not consistent - the only video that occasionally outvoted it during its run was "Tears Are Falling" by KISS.

Back in the early 2000’s, I was in a music store looking for supplies for my drum kit. A guy sat down at a Roland piano and started playing this. I grabbed a pair of sticks, counted in, and picked up at the drum drop. We played the whole song. It was awesome!! When we finished the song, the clerk said “that was cool! Don’t ever do it again!! How are you gonna pay for those sticks??!” 😂🤣. Great times.

This video was filmed in Houston when I was in seventh grade. The local radio hyped it so much and asked everyone to bring a lighter for this song. I wanted to go to that show so bad. I was a Marine stationed in the Far East just before, during and after the Gulf War. Every week, Monday thru Friday, the Armed Forces Radio television channel would show the schedule of flights returning to the US while this song and Joe Satriani’s Flying in a Blue Dream played in the background. Those two years were very difficult for me, but these two songs kept my hopes of returning home alive.

They were already on the rocket ship on the way up but this song kicked in the afterburners and launched them into the stratosphere. This, like Beth with KISS, basically showed what it took for metal artists to get radio airplay. That's when record companies came up with the formula that a band's 1st single would be heavy to hook the metal fans (or please the fans if an already established band) and then the 2nd single would be a ballad to get women fans and get radio airplay. Pretty much every band, pretty much every album.

Professor of Rock has a great video about this song.
The band had to commission the video themselves, because the label refused to back the song in any way.
They had to force the issue of the song being on the album. Basically telling the label it was on the album or they found a new label.
It's the only song on the album Neal has any love and respect for.

It was fun, loud, raucous music back then, and the musicianship was there, too. Then alternative and grunge happened, and there went that idea. The song is one of two good songs on that album, the other one being their cover of "Smokin' in the Boys Room". Crue's substance abuse and egos were running hard back then. "Dr. Feelgood" was their peak album with their original lineup. So many hits off that one!

It wasn’t just bras.. Panties were thrown. A lot of wild stuff going on with that. I remember being 14 years old standing there with my dad at a Van Halen concert 1984 and all of a sudden these two girls got up on the sound and light stage and a spotlight came down from somewhere onto them and they pulled up their shirts and wiggled their boobs around.. talk about a roar of the crowd that was one of the loudest points of the concert . And it wasn’t even the concert . a lot of times that a lot of those rock metal concerts. Women / girls would just be shirtless or with their tops lifted up throughout the entire concert..

Possibly “scream until you like it” but that would be for the movie it was in. Personally my favorite songs are “mean man”, “Chainsaw Charlie” and the entire album “live in the raw”! When Rock music isn't popular, it doesn't die: it just starts splitting rent with Country music. This is one reason why people today get confused about whether Lynyrd Skynyrd is Rock or Country. Well, that and that, in my opinion, Skynyrd sounds like Rock, but feels Country. I guess it's that Southern thang.

If I'm not mistaken, MTV finally had to change the rules of fans voting for videos for the video countdown. People would call in for Home Sweet Home so much, it was out of control. I didn't mind, because this was in a time of my life that I was all in for the Crüe. I listened to a lot of metal back then, but Crüe dominated my listening time. I had 2 poster walls in my bedroom, of nothing but Mötley Crüe.

That’s a fun song to listen to in fact I love Motley Crue’s music especially their older albums such as Girls , girls ,girls. I have a question Burch can you react to “ you’re all I need?” I know it’s a controversial video and it’s content but it’s a tragic love story

I said the same thing. Girls at country concerts now are like the 80s girls at hair metal concerts. I went to a Luke Combs concert and I’m 50 years old but that was most drunkest and rowdiest girls I’ve ever seen.

Speaking of circuses, you should check out White Trash Circus from Crues Saints of Los Angeles album. The album was supposed to be the soundtrack for the movie The Dirt, but the movie was delayed.

Nobody points out that the guy handing the band members the phone is the same guy!!! He was in One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest. (1975)

I was at the Godsmack/Metallica show in '07. After five years of no hour. So after the Godmack opening. They brought the house lights up to reconfigure the stage. So at least 20 girls were flashing they're boobs. Every one got escorted out. Maybe 1/2 came back with ticket in hand. So they were booed when they left. And standing ovation when came back. The most hilarious thing I've ever seen at a show.

For another video with fish out of water metal guys at the beach, you must watch Summertime Girls by Y&T. The whole thing takes place at the beach and was filmed at the Boardwalk in Santa Cruz, CA. It’s a hilarious video, though nowhere near their best song.

My dad & mom said, " the 80's is the only decade that male rock band look like bad lady". I don't know why they said that.

5:34 See how Tommy Lee was struggling here? Those sticks must have felt like cement by the time they got to that song. Mick had to stand next to him in support to keep going...
