This is the problem I have on my S550 and this video is exactly what I needed to see. I plan on wrapping it in the spring and I was wondering about the rock chips. You guys did an awesome job, great video! 👍🏾
Thank you we appreciate it!
This is the right video I was looking for! THANK YOU!
You touch on the good questions that I been thinking of man preciate you
Honestly I thought it was gonna be worse ... I would still wrap my truck with a bunch of dents and scratches in it even if it looks like that bc it isn’t that bad
EXACTLY what I needed to see right now. Thank you for posting this it helps way more than you know
Thank you. Very helpful.
Thanks for the video. You answered my question perfectly.
Awesome man that’s what it’s here for, glad it could be of help
what about big rock chips? What product do you use to fill in big chips? I want to use some kind of filler, but i'd like to avoid the vinyl pulling the fill out if i were to rewrap it in the future.
If a cars surface is pretty dinged up will the cost of wrapping it go up significantly due to having to sand the paint? I wonder if the cost of a respray would be only slightly more than a wrap. My 2016 FR-S is chipped pretty moderately from the previous owner doing 35k of highway driving.
Do you have reflector wrap ? I want a mural on my 300s I have the picture I want already just need more info from you guys
My car has some scratches along the whole body do you recommend to went sand all the scratches out before wrapping ?
Do you have videos on the cost to wrap a car and prices for different options?
Excelente...
If i only have a few paint chips and not as many as this would I still need to sand the whole pannel?
Just wondering, if I sand in patches would you be able to tell?
I have a 350z 08 and was wondering the cost of this or with carbon fiber wrap.
Can I do this on my hood it has a bunch of rock chips like this bumper
Why didn’t warp the bumper while it was out instead of it on then wrap?
Is 1500 and 3000 grit wet sand all you use for corrections in the paint before laying the vinyl? Do you use any fillers rock chips?
What about minor rust spot ??? Is that bad to wrap
I have a crack in my bumper from accident if I wrap it will it disappear?
so what if you DID polish it after?
If there’s damage like this throughout the car would this be necessary
My hood has been painted over a couple times before my ownership so there are rock chips that go a noticable depth into the paint. Would the best way to wrap over them be to fill them in with something and then sand smooth? What's recommended to fill with if this is the case?
bondo sand over it the spray primer and sand for wrap
Looks light he burned through some paint near the led daytime running light on the right side fascia !
Did you take the paint out of the car or just the exterior contaminants? I’m saying this because it looks like gray after the using the machine... Thank you very much!
I'd say lacquer just took off, to make surface smooth
The paint is grey because of fine sanding marks(scratches) induced by the machine leveling the clear coat. The paint has not been removed just blemished and in need of compounding and polishing to recover the shine. Like in the video compound/ polishing alone does not level down imperfections so sanding was needed to ensure the wrap layed flat and even. There not polishing the paint afterwards most likely due to cost and it being covered up by the wrap either way !
I have a polyurethane bumper and I want to wrap instead of paint do I have to sand and then apply vinyl ?
No.
Does wet sanding with the 1500 grit buff out by hand to the original shine if you decide to take the wrap off?
More like 3000 grit can be buffed out and definitely not by hand
1500 can be buffed out. Definitely need a buffer/ polisher. It will buff out as long as you don't sand thru the clear coat. If you haven't done this before, you certainly will sand to deep, especially around corners and edges.
Do you need to contact your insurance when wrapping your car with a different color?
In some states yes
I've been wanting to wrap my hood but its littered with deep rock chips, I'm wondering if I use a body filler and get it all smooth and uniform, if the wrap will be able to stick to something like bondo? Saw your other video with the "primer dust" and the vinyl not sticking and thought that I might have the same issue
I have the same issue on my hood and I’m wondering the same. I’m replacing my bumper so I’m not worried about that since it’ll be new. But the hood is pretty embedded in rock chips
Did you ever have a problem with it?
What’s the liquid that you use for sanding ?
For wet sanding, you just use water.
I need to get something done on my 2018 Chrysler 300s
I have hail damage on my m3. is there a way to prep the car so the dents do not show
uhh how bad is the damage?
@@chimrichalds982 not horribly bad but can see up close. Biggest is about 1 inch maybe
What machine did u use
I’m ab to wrap my car and I wanna know what you used cus my Z is the same way right now
Is it fine to polish back to shiny surface this incase I want the wrap removed ? Will the polish affect adhesive of the wrap ?
Yes you can polish it back out, you will have to clean the surface with alcohol before wrapping
@@PrecisionWrapsGraphics Thank you ! awesome work
So once wrap is removed are you stuck with the dull sanded look?
It can be polished out, why we sanded with 1500
Has to be polished out there just very numerous fine scratches.
@@PrecisionWrapsGraphicscan I do this on my hood? The same process you guys did and same sand paper grit?
So if you have rock chips. I'm not saying he doesn't know but wrap it in carbon fiber. If it's rough even after clay and it feels literally like sand paper then yeah you have to sand it but you can 100 percent wrap over rock chips
So in order to make the wrap look better you ruin the paint job?
It’s wet sanded with 1500 which is easy polished out when wrap is removed.
@@PrecisionWrapsGraphics interesting...was wondering if my paint needs to be corrected before wrapping but maybe this could do the trick?
The paint was ruined already with all those chips lol
Not ruined just wet sanded. Normal prices of correcting very oxidized or weather torn clearcoat.
See this is alright but the problem is, if you take the wrap off you'll have to get it repainted
Incorrect compound and polish 👌
@@PrecisionWrapsGraphics when you buffed the top, it looks like you took a good level of the paint off no?
@@neekoly2566 just scuffed the clear coat enough to make it smoother. He never went into the base coat from what it looks like. Just need to buff the clear smooth again.
What hides dents better satin or gloss?
Matte and satin, or a lighter color.
Good work! But god damn that is one of the worst looking, overused wrap colors.
I'm sorry, but what do you mean you couldn't fix those small bubbles on the bumper? Precision Wraps? If I were the customer I wouldn't be OK with that. I'm sure those bubbles can be worked out. So what's up with that???
