hangkai 18hp .53.5hours review. fuel consumption and problems review!!!

i used it mostly once in a week on weekend in salt water , 1+ hour of full throttle and then 7hours of trolling, total 8hours of fuel consumption is about 20-22litre of fuel.

Currently as per today, the outboard has 160hrs on it only use in salt water. The outboard performance is still very good, only the paint peeled alot (my poor /lazy cleaning job.i am ok with it as long as the engine is good). I shall make another update video of this hangkai next trip i go to the sea again

Please flush with tap water after use and wipe clean with oil to all the parts of the engine...so can last longger.
Aluminum props are good bc if you hit something it will break the prop not you lower unit.

You caught every mistake. I'd use a 5 HP air cooled four cycle on that raft. The tail would be lighter. It would start very easily. It's very quiet. The cooling system never causes problems. It runs straight motor oil in the crankcase. Paint your engine with a can and brush. Spray can paint is porous. I use John Deere TY6341 or AN102562 grease on cables and 85W140 truck gear oil for the propeller gears. A small motor keeps the stern light and you tote less gas.

I dont know anything about your boat bro, but i believed the outboard work but the travel speed might be slow(i am just guessing), maybe you need to change a lower pitch propeller for the outboard
Hi. Do you know the difference between the 15hp and 18hp model. Carb jet size maybe or different size carb. Im wondering how i can upgrade my 15hp hangkai to a 18hp? Many thanks... jj
I think hangkai 9.9(russia) 15hp (us) and 18hp are the exact same thing, only the sticker different. For the yamaha 15hp carb ,they do have 2 different jet which is 105 and 110. I havent check or service my carb yet so i dont know what is the jet in it.
How about the engine sound, is it too noisy or just normal sound?
Not too noisy, my friends who has yamaha 15 qnd tohatsu18 said my outboard is very quite🤭. Check my other videos of me fishing with hangkai

This motor is cheap but it is good in performance . Only the paint is not good if use in salt water.

No engine problem yet. Beside the paint peeling, the only problem i have encounted was the throttle cable broken. i have replaced it with original yamaha cables .

You cuba adjust itu nut dan rod ....... Itu rod di belakang kipas tu.... Aaaaaa! Oh ya , itu rod akan begerak bila kamu masuk gear punya... Belakang kipas, itu rod sana ada nut boleh adjust itu kepajangan rod , kalau panjang rod tu tidak betul gear pun tak boleh masuk.😵💫😵💫harap kamu faham 😬

Can i charge a marine battery using the hangkai 18hp outboard motor? If i can, what parts would i need to make this happen? Thanks!
My hangkai 18 does not have a charging coil, you can buy yamaha 15 coil for the hangkai if you need to charge the battery.

i dont know if i should buy this motor or not, i need a reliable kicker for a 24ft sloop, at half the cost of yamaha i could hang a pair on brakets, that would be over 30hp combined if i got stuck on a sand bar plus the piece of mind of trin motors, reviews are not much help as far as reliability, guess i can get one if its good get a second
The engine itself is good. The original Parts are cheap compare to yamaha but you can also replace with yamaha parts . The major problem of this outboard is the original paint. I have videos in my channel about the paint problem too
