- Step into my studio as I show you the easiest technique for making beautiful collage papers. Using the gel plate, I will teach you how easy it is to print a background colour and then add layers with stencils. This is basic stencilling 101, anyone can do this!
This simple technique will give you so many ideas for creating your own prints. I'll teach you the colours I use to create these beautiful results, and the stencils that print such fabulous designs.

Hi Froyle! Thank you so, so much for this tutorial. I have always been frustrated with any attempts at gel printing of any kind. Your 'messy, sloppy, too much paint' approach has worked like a charm for me this morning. I have had so much fun playing with my paints and cheap copy paper. I can't wait to have a go at other papers. I love the idea of the rice paper.

This is the 2nd video I've seen of yours, I just happened to see your video of collage 100 days, earlier today and loved what you were doing... I love the colors you use and the type of collage you were creating...thank you for sharing your talent. Do you work larger pieces doing collage work, if so could you send me a link so I can see how you go about it?

As usual, I can’t get enough of your art. This demonstration was exactly what I wanted. As you described the colors you used, it was hard to understand ( NZ accent😀) exactly the pronunciation of the colors. Will you have a resource page? Just love your sense of color.

We have been to the wonderful city of Napier. I would like to ask you what type (soft, hard, or in between) and size of roller you use for a 8x10 inch brayer? I seem to keep getting lines in my paint from the edges of the brayer.

Oh I buy them from everywhere! It depends on what country yup are in? Crafters Workshop.com have a great range, so does Joggles.com, closer to New Zealand here is Jackies craft store, places are endless to find stencils! All the best, cheers Froyle

@@JulianaBeasley1967 yes you must have bought the wrong kind of rice paper! Maybe you bought the one you cook with! I have also bought Japanese calligraphy paper off Amazon & that works great too! 👍🏼 the rice paper is in Chinese!

My art room is also my furnace room and it is winter here. The paint is drying on my gel plate. Way too fast. Next time I’ll turn the heat off when I plan to do this. Meanwhile, what do you do to clean stubborn paint off the jelly plate? Thank you.
I use baby wipes, or a damp cloth. You can give it a wash with some soapy (not too much!) water & a good rub! Cheers Froyle
have you ever mono printed onto National Geographic pages that have been altered with Citrasolv? My guess is the paper is too thin, or the ink would stick to the plate, im not sure. Any ideas on how to transfer an image to the altered pages?

I keep going back to this video. When you were putting copper on the last pull, was it metallic copper or just copper? My apologies for thinking it was your accent when you said “madder” , as I’ve never heard that word before.😊

Gluing tissue paper vs craft paper is different. What do advisee to use, as a seamless glue on canvas?

Magazines? Are you talking about image transfers or stenciling?
