- We explored the area around the Santa Maria Ranger Station on our second day in Rincon de la Vieja. We saw some raging waterfalls, rescued some puppies and took a hard earned soak in the natural hot springs. Along the way, we also saw some interesting insects, a butterfly swarm and beautiful jungle fungi.

Love how you seems to have an eye for capturing some of the smaller bits of the surroundings ants, flowers etc. So many beautiful mushrooms also. Certainly a magical place.
The little bits are my favorite... they all add up to the picture of one big adventure
Those dogs looked like they were twins. Awesome meet on your adventure there. The shot from that log above the river was pretty cool.

I have been there, by the way there is a huge and beautiful lagoon on the top of the volcano
When we were there, they said it was venting toxic gasses
@@JesseStLouis the active crater actually is venting toxic gases, but there other craters, it's a complex with several craters
