Yes tours to Rincon De La Vieja Lodge also known as Rinconcito Ranch are about $150 per person from Brasilito. Why it is so expensive? One, because transportation from Brasilito to Rincon Lodge, which is about an hour and a half away from Brasilito (past the airport in Liberia) is about $85. Two, entering Rincon Lodge, not to be confused with the national park of the same name, is a resort. At the Lodge you get to choose two or three activities like horseback riding, ziplining, a water slide, have lunch and then get in the hot springs and mud bath for as long as you want for $85 per person. It is probably cheaper if you are staying at the lodge. So while you can enter Rincon De La Vieja National Park for as little as $15 per person if you have your own transportation, you cannot enter the resort or get transportation to the resort for $15. We splurged on that and had a blast. It is a beautiful property which offers private massages, facials, etc. for additional fees. Another time we took a hike through Rincon National Park and it was lovely as well. What we found expensive in Costa Rica was renting a car. The hold amount on our credit card was about $1,000 (other places wanted $1,200) and the insurance was almost as crazy as Los Angeles. We did better when we found a gringo, who rented cars privately. What a bargain (yes an English speaker who did not rip us off). In every town there are cheap places to eat and more expensive places with ocean views and other amenities, etc. Tourists in general are targets not matter what country they visit or the language spoken. That is just reality.

BEST ADVICE FROM A "TICA" (COSTA RICAN GIRL) FOR AMERICAN TOURISTS ? OK, here we go ! (1) Speak at least a LITTLE Spanish ! Not all Ticos speak English, and you'll get a much better price if you TRY to speak Spanish ! (2) AVOID all the fancy bars & restaurants - you will pay USA prices there, if not HIGHER ! (3) Eat "comida tipica" (local food), like "Casado". There are many versions of this local favorite: with chicken, steak, pork chop, or fish. (4) Get used to "Tico Time" - everything is more "laid back" in CR - enjoy yourself, you can RUSH when you return to the USA !
