That's so funny! My dad actually made a squirrel feeder that was a table with 2 chairs. The table had a 10 penny nail sticking up through the center of it. You stick feed corn (still on the cob) on it by working the cob down over the nail so it stands up on end, like it's sitting on the table. Never saw a squirrel sit at the table, but the corn would disappear quickly. 😂😂😂 Hello Alan! Glad to meet you! 💜

I have my squirrel babies in my yard. 18 years ago, I lived in an apartment that had a small roof outside my bedroom window. I started sharing my dinner with Sassy, a squirrel. She would knock on the window if I was late. Her descendants live in my yard now. They will still come close to me and know I amazing friend.

They will bury the food and come back for them. For even how cold it is here sometimes if it is a really nice winter day you will find the squirrels out playing and foraging for food. My mom has a picnic table and an entire house that my dad built for the wild squirrels lol they've been feeding the squirrels for so long that the squirrels will come up now and take nuts right out of their hand it's the craziest thing ever seen but also the cutest! Welcome to the family Allen lol
Chatterbox was my pet squirrel for part of a summer. He loved ice-cream and peanut butter. His lasting impact on my life has been that I can't eat very much pb at a time for fear of getting my mouth stuck shut...just like Chatterbox!😅
I used to buy dried corn cobs for the squirrels. They loved those! Super cute watching them eat! Squirrels do love to dig up my freshly planted veggie and flower boxes! Cute but can be irritating. Lol
Have had too many to count to take up residence in my roof/attic/soffit areas of my house! Yes, they’re cute but they make a mess up there nesting & pooping & chewing through wires etc… If only they’d stay in their tree houses I would like them more😉

We had a little squirrel when I watched my granddaughter while her mama worked. We called him stumpy because half of his tail was missing. It’s really really fun to get them one of those devices that hold dry corn cob wand you can hammer them in the tree. the squirrel gets on them and spins around, but they love it, they are so fun to watch! Love little Alan. I have jet black squirrels and red squirrels where I live, and I love to watch them.

I love Squirrels! My Dad gave me that nickname when I was little! My Dad had some Cherokee and he called me Squirre! I love to watch them. They frolick, chase each other up & down aand around the tree. Sit on their haunches and look at you like, "How is your Day? I'm looking for something I tucked away, for a rainy day!". I just love this! Welcome to our family, Allan! You're going to love it here. Unsalted peanuts, corn kernels or on the cobb, and sunflower seeds is what my dad and I feed the squirrels and birds. I also put out dry kitty food and veggies for the cats, opossums, skunks, and raccoons. Once in awhile i will buy birdseed. My backyard animals are healthy and very fun to watch.
I feed my squirrels raw/no salt/not roasted/in shell peanuts. Bought from Kroger. They planted a few last summer in my flower garden. While pulling weeds late summer/fall to my surprise, up came 8 peanuts attached to each "weed" !!! I planted all them peanuts this year. 😅 Happy Father's Day Jami !!!

squirrels are awesome. they're natures educators and will guide you. sometimes, you don't choose to be friends with them, sometimes, they decide to be friends with you. their eyesight is similar to a horses - in that they can't see what's directly in front of them and have to compensate. they'll clear up the food items you don't want. they're tree planters and caretakers. yes, I freakin' love squirrels. learnt so much from them and with them. they know the good trees, and the bad trees. Lester will hate you for sticking up for the little guys, but it's the little guys that do all the work!! and they'll literally work for peanuts 😀 true fact: I can pinpoint *to the branch* the sound of an upset squirrel from a quarter of a mile away. yes, I have a ton of woodland around me and no, it's a skill that, once acquired, isn't easily lost. Alan has chosen you. 🥰

My neighbors at our campground thought it was funny watching them All the time UNTIL they decided to take home in there camper! What a mess to say the least!! I sarted feeding our birds and now have at least 6 squirrels ( most I've seen at one time lol ) that I feed, because my first cute little guy told his neighbor friends and family ❤ so I throw fruit and veg. left overs out and now have bunnies ❤ I enjoy watching them in the morning and evening it makes doing dishes more enjoyable😊
In Pittsburgh, we have alot of birds, squirrels, chipmunks, deer, trees, green, and hills in city neighborhoods, and parks. I grew up in an area called Greenfield /Squirrel Hill. 🐿️🐿️🐿️Animal are used to people being around but are still feral. Squirrels especially if you gain your trust will eat out of your hand. They love peanuts in the shell. He's so sweet. 🐿️🥜🐿️.

One of the best things you could provide Alan with is water. Particularly with your heat. A gerbil water bottle or the like attached to a fence post for Alan to drink from. He will be forever grateful.😊😊😊❤❤❤
When I lived in Chicago there were too many squirrels! The first time I opened an outside trash dumpster, a squirrel jumped out onto my shoulder & onto the ground! Almost peed my pants! Scared me half to death! The squirrels loved those dumpsters. From then on when I took trash out I would say" Ok Rocky, I'm bringing you dinner" Alan looks like a fox squirrel. The ones in Chicago would eat the jack o'lanterns people would put out at Halloween & the Indian corn! It was funnny to me but I know it was a frustration to those would had the displays!

My dad had a squirrel that lived in their tree. He friended it and it would come sit on his lap. Every family function everyone including kids had nuts they carried to hand feed her. Dad named her Rockel. She'd even follow us in the house if we wasn't watching. Thankfully we could grab a can of nuts and She'd follow us back outside. ❤️

Squirrels like unsalted popcorn, sunflower seeds and mostly fresh peanuts. I’ve had them come into my home to get some peanuts during the Winter when I lived in Rhode Island and when I lived in Florida I had one that would sit on my lap and eat popcorn.

How could Anyone have a squirrel problem? They are so cute, if you have one as a pet like I did. Be aware they will destroy you clothes, to make a nest. They are ADORABLE! ❤
My boyfriend and I sat watching ants on the patio a couple nights ago. We were totally invested in the little bug they were hauling off with. At one point we looked at each other and said “what happened to us??” and fell out laughing. Simple things in life.
We feed our deer and squirrels cracked corn daily. We live in the city in a tree filled neighborhood. We fenced in our back yard to plant a deer-proof garden.

Yes, squirrels are really cute😃 But it's better not to pick them up because, unfortunately, those creatures are suffocating from fleas and lice. We have done that before, the animal was injured and before the vet could check it we were also covered in fleas hihihi. Oh well, you'll keep a little something, right? In any case, the animal was taken care of. We took a shower and put clothes in the washing machine and the "problem" was gone. Thank you Jami for letting us meet Alan.❣❤❣
Jami I live in Brooklyn NY(Kings County). My neighborhood is within the city limits and I live in low-income public housing. There's a plaza and playground with grass where families and their children congregate interacting with one another and occasionally a squirrel 🐿️ or two 🐿️🐿️ come into the courtyards/playgrounds and eat the droppings from the trees 🌳🌳. They even eat blackberries from a tree in the middle of one the plazas. They're so cute and not too long ago I saw a black furred squirrel. A few times I've approached and fed them almonds and peanuts that I sometimes keep on hand.
Ask Bri where she got her squirrel 🐿️ feeder from….It looks like a table nail to a tree in the goats yard…..I put food out for ours but I think the birds and cats eat it as well…..Stray Cats…..My Healers won’t let a cat live here anymore 😢
I think it's great 😃 to see your new friend Alan. If you want to be closer friends with Alan start to put treats out for him. Then make a trail leading up to where you want to meet in one spot. My dad used Oreos and walnuts for one squirrel and for another peanuts and a different kind of cookie. After awhile they would come and take treats from his hand or just sit together in the mornings and enjoy time together. I seen one lady have a little picnic table and she would make PB&J squirrel size sandwiches and have lunch together
I have a group of Alans. And a whole bunch of different types of birds. It's because I feed them every day 😌. I know someone who has a groundhog named Steve, and this summer Steve brought his family and friends to her house and garden. 😁 SO FUNNY

My dad had a female squirrel he named FiFi. She would come and knock on the door to let him know she was waiting for him. He would come out and hand feed nuts to her. If he was working outside she would stay by his side and supervise to make sure he did it right. It was so cute.
Them squirrels are fine little red squirrels are grr they got in my house top bottom. I have black, brown like allen, red( the cute enemy), and occasionally gray. Enjoy bird watching and squirrel watching I by them big woodpecker block suets so many birds and squirrels come . Squirrels are omnivores so they'll eat just about anything especially if it's a free meal. So they'll even accept some meat too.

If you put out feed/water for them and a warm place to be when it's wet and cold, they will not destroy anything. Their not like a Rats or Mice!

My dad had a squirrel that lived in their tree. He friended it and it would come sit on his lap. Every family function everyone including kids had nuts they carried to hand feed her. Dad named her Rockel. She'd even follow us in the house if we wasn't watching. Thankfully we could grab a can of nuts and She'd follow us back outside. ❤️
Jami you got a nice little gift from nature and you took rime to notice it, some people would just walk by and not give it a thought. But its momments like this that we should take notice and watch. Like a squirrel when it sits up always has its paws over its heart. Its the little things that make the world whole🥰

Squirrels like unsalted popcorn, sunflower seeds and mostly fresh peanuts. I’ve had them come into my home to get some peanuts during the Winter when I lived in Rhode Island and when I lived in Florida I had one that would sit on my lap and eat popcorn.
We feed the Squirrels!! I love them, they like nut in the shell, feed corn are favs ❤❤❤❤

Jamie I feed the birds and my squirrels every morning. I put out peanuts for the squirrels. I get bunnies that come around too. I love it ❤Alan is adorable.
How could Anyone have a squirrel problem? They are so cute, if you have one as a pet like I did. Be aware they will destroy you clothes, to make a nest. They are ADORABLE! ❤

My boyfriend and I sat watching ants on the patio a couple nights ago. We were totally invested in the little bug they were hauling off with. At one point we looked at each other and said “what happened to us??” and fell out laughing. Simple things in life.
We feed our deer and squirrels cracked corn daily. We live in the city in a tree filled neighborhood. We fenced in our back yard to plant a deer-proof garden.

Yes, squirrels are really cute😃 But it's better not to pick them up because, unfortunately, those creatures are suffocating from fleas and lice. We have done that before, the animal was injured and before the vet could check it we were also covered in fleas hihihi. Oh well, you'll keep a little something, right? In any case, the animal was taken care of. We took a shower and put clothes in the washing machine and the "problem" was gone. Thank you Jami for letting us meet Alan.❣❤❣
Jami I live in Brooklyn NY(Kings County). My neighborhood is within the city limits and I live in low-income public housing. There's a plaza and playground with grass where families and their children congregate interacting with one another and occasionally a squirrel 🐿️ or two 🐿️🐿️ come into the courtyards/playgrounds and eat the droppings from the trees 🌳🌳. They even eat blackberries from a tree in the middle of one the plazas. They're so cute and not too long ago I saw a black furred squirrel. A few times I've approached and fed them almonds and peanuts that I sometimes keep on hand.

I think it's great 😃 to see your new friend Alan. If you want to be closer friends with Alan start to put treats out for him. Then make a trail leading up to where you want to meet in one spot. My dad used Oreos and walnuts for one squirrel and for another peanuts and a different kind of cookie. After awhile they would come and take treats from his hand or just sit together in the mornings and enjoy time together.
I seen one lady have a little picnic table and she would make PB&J squirrel size sandwiches and have lunch together

I have a group of Alans. And a whole bunch of different types of birds. It's because I feed them every day 😌. I know someone who has a groundhog named Steve, and this summer Steve brought his family and friends to her house and garden. 😁 SO FUNNY

Didn’t Bri have a squirrel in her goat pasture before the flood? She had a small picnic table attached to the tree. I remember she kept a dish full of nuts that she replenished every few days. You may want to compare notes.

My dad had a female squirrel he named FiFi. She would come and knock on the door to let him know she was waiting for him. He would come out and hand feed nuts to her. If he was working outside she would stay by his side and supervise to make sure he did it right. It was so cute.

Them squirrels are fine little red squirrels are grr they got in my house top bottom. I have black, brown like allen, red( the cute enemy), and occasionally gray. Enjoy bird watching and squirrel watching I by them big woodpecker block suets so many birds and squirrels come . I have a few different kinds of woodpeckers too not the pileated who I'd love to see at a distance
