Whilst I appreciate the high$$ builds you show.....THIS is much more to my taste. It keeps the beautiful looks from the 60s, but with just enough updates to keep it relevant today. And quite possibly the best sounding Coyote powered Mustang I've ever heard. Awesome!
@@AutotopiaLA yeah for sure, I have a 2017 Mustang GT 5.0, dream is having a restored 67 fastback with 2012 Shelby GT500 heart plant as a daily would be epic.
Absolutely love that car. My first car was a 67 coup. Always wanted a fastback. Thanks for the work you do showing us these awesome cars. Enjoy your channel alot
@@brandonknight7240 mine was white. Gave 950 for it. I was 15., my buddy and i were running the roads , i was on a Big Red 3-Wheeler (the first big thing I ever purchased) paid 1500 for it. I had been working for my Dad since i was 13. After school, all summer long. We did construction and worked many 12-15 hour days in the summer. I made 3.50 an hour. Those were the best times of my life.
The sound of that Coyote engine was the only music I Like to hear, I love it! Thank's for sharing it. Back in '68, I had a 68 Mustang Convertible, red/ red interior w/white top, 390 4spd, I wanted to trade it in if I could have gotten a green 2+2, none in Flint, Michigan at the time.
These cars are my favorites that you do... the not super high end but (almost) Everyman builds, like this one and the old school big block Chevelle you did running 15” rallye wheels still. Absolutely the best versions of these cars. The problem? Not everyone has good taste, even pro builders. They do gimmicky or trendy touches to show off talent, not make a good or well engineered product. Not always but often. Almost always though the cars they build are trends, not timeless. So in a few years these builds are going to look as dated as a pro build from the 90’s does now but classic looks will always be classic, never outdated.
I hear you and agree a lot of time although I really love seeing the builds with radical Fab work for the artistry. But this one is a timeless driver and I love it too!
Being A territory sales manager for O’Reilly auto parts, I did get to see one of The three Eleanor‘s that were built for the movie gone in 60 seconds here in Wisconsin, being a territory sales manager for O’Reilly auto parts I got to see many of the cars built especially the javelin they came out of the hot Rod Magazine and the knight rider. Also got chip Foose and Richard Rawlings as well as Richard Petty pictures sign and autographed. As well as meeting annoying upper management for the company, these people are awesome That’s why I love working for this company. It is my passion. As well as my coworkers and upper management are so awesome. That is my passion in cars of any kind.
Love the old classic Mustangs. And the updated powetrain just makes it better. Nice ride. Get better soon man. But thanks for pushing thru the flu and sharing this video.
You are Awesome for digging into the issues for him with a massive improvement that Kyle might had never chased down knowing no different… No hate on Kyle but because of your experience he ends up with a entirely different car that he never knew was that good….Props to you my friend… Love the car and the package…Wouldn’t change anything honestly…Dig It!
Do really like the fastbacks but partial to my 68 Cougar Dad bought new when I was 5, bought it from him in highschool 40yrs back, Restored it right some yrs ago and get over 400hp through a 302 I detuned for pump gas. Wrinkles the tires no problem and goes. Stacy David built a killer version with the coyote, whole lotta work! I get my coyote fix with my F150, runs like a bat outa hell!
A beautiful car and restomod. By far, one of my favs. I, too, kept expecting that black Dodge to show up, lol. I wish my budget would some day allow for such a ride.
42 years ago, I learned to drive and drift on the very same car, with original 289 hipo... I remember the cool nights in SoFla , windows open, embarrassing corvettes, and laying down 100 yards of smoke.... oh those were the days.... when I find one, make sure its really locked up, or the ghost of 1982 will be driving it on the Ft Lauderdale strip...... mmmmmm
I got a 68 Camaro, always been a Chevy fan but I will say the 67-69 Mustang fastbacks are my favorite body style. Them things are just the coolest looking cars there is
Beautiful build. Obviously needs a new hood. When I was 8 my mom tapped a pole in her "67 GTA (in 67!) Bent the beak down in the same way. I worshipped that car and was heartbroken until it was fixed.
I am very stern on original but some things need to change this build is absolutely beautiful ,I finally decided to upgrade my Mustangs and trans ams to modern drive train so they can be daily drivers I dont want garage queens I want to enjoy them while Im still young and have the money to do the builds great job
I had the same problem with my 64.5 coyote swapped, luckily I had an nGauge attached. When I went through the various gauges, I spotted the AFR showing 26:1 instead of 14.6 on the right bank. I slapped in a new sensor and plugs and was back in the saddle. Apparently those sensors can die easily.
The aesthetic of these cars just does not age. In a hundred years this car will still look better than all the iPads on wheels spat out by the industry.
Shawn - lol, I can’t be the only guy Sub’d to OldCarMemories?! Just minutes before your post, Kevin posted ‘Why the 67/68 turned Mustang into a legend’... Lovely post and engine story. Really sweet homages to Bullitt film in your camera angles, even in the shop... You really made the most of the short-throw shifter!
My parents had a '66 convertible, new, but the 289 never ran like that. Of course, the Ford-O-Matic 3-Speed Auto wasn't gonna impress too many people either but it was a nice looking car, especially in 1966.
I'd love to see a base model 72 done right. Looks more like, but not quite, a 71 from the windshield forward. But, 72 from windshield back. Seems to be somewhat rare nowadays. All you see are Gran Torinos. My first car was a 72 base model with a 351-C. Miss it so much!
Yeah, this car is still just about the perfect blend of old and new! Perhaps get rid of the leaf springs too, but then it really is spot on! Really want one :) (personally I'd probably select a different colour and style of rim, but that just preference)
That’s an awesome car a true daily driver not extreme not shaking all over the place has great power looks like it gets off the line very well now I’m probably gonna have to change up my whole game plan for my 65 coupe

Dark Moss Green...my 64/5 was that color when I bought it in 1970. Painted it LeMans Blue(GM-corvette-'70).
I love these fast backs. What a clean genuine looking example
