      And he FINALLY got to build this Mustang swap after all the Eleanor bs lol AND took it to SEMA. Straight flex back in that family’s face 💪🏼 you’re 100% right about the growth in the channel and he’s done it without changing really much at all about the contents of the content, the builds, the format, really there’s not a whole lot that’s changed. If he has changed something then it was out of necessity and done better.

      What’s crazy to me is all the cars pretty much just sit in the garage afterwards. Simple math alone proves they don’t get driven all that often atleast. I don’t blame him for keeping them, it would be hard for me to walk away from them also

    Nice to see the material costs, I'm guessing labor costs for your team working on this for 30 days would be $50,000. All in all a $90,000 brand new "1967 Mustang Fastback" is probably not too bad considering what you'd have to do to achieve the same performance from an original.

    • @NemuiJin

    WOW! What an amazing build! Being from that era of 1967-68 (I was 16 in 68), those have always been my favorite Mustangs. I did own a 68 notchback many years ago. It was a wreck and paid all of $400 for it. Spent a year fixing it (inline 6 with three speed), but sold it once I got it going. Of course, looking back now, I should have never gotten rid of it! But don't we all say that? Again, great build, fun to watch you guys (before SEMA) building and and seeing the finished product!

  • @ORRadtech
    @ORRadtech 6 місяців тому +40

    40k in parts but what about labor? Three guys working, conservatively, 12 hours a day for 30 days is close 1100 man hours. Figure $150/hour, if you find a fabricator willing to do it for tlhat little, adds another $165k. Now I'm sure he doesn't have that much in labor in it but the average diy guy, would between buying tools and hiring out stuff beyond their skill set, certainly would. I appreciate the breakdown but think that final number of $40k is extremely under reported.

    • @4literv6
      @4literv6 6 місяців тому +3

      Yup my first swag was well over 150k at standard shop labor rates with at least 1,000hrs billed, plus he bought that huge 3d printed is that costed out to? Smh at least he showed if you did it right and a shop started doing builds like this more than 1 at a time?
      It could make a turn key 65-70 restomod built on a nice s550 donor sub 100k all in for a simpler build. I bet that kind of deal could find at least 3-5,000 interested buyers a year. Depending on being willing to ship them anywhere? 🤔

    That is the way to go for someone wanting a new Mustang GT. Classic look with that new car smell so to say. My first car was a 67 coupe. Bought it when I was 15 for 950 bucks. Kept it 10 years, had new rear quarter panels front fenders floor pan front and rear valance and a decent paint job. Looking back I wish I would have done a Shelby drop and added a 5 speed. I would have had a lot more fun with that. It didn't handle the curves very well the way it was. This is a beautiful car, thanks for a good show.

It's amazing what you do in 30-60 days, but I would like to see what you could actually do in a year. Perfect the car. Do other content builds while you are waiting on parts. But do a year long SEMA build not being rushed to get finished. I have made comments before... You drive me nuts. I have not seen the Volgatti build (added to my list), but I've seen severeal use CNC to cut styrofoam and buildingfoam to create epic parts.
      Mike Patey have a lot of this in his build of "Skrappy". (Cub airplane totaly rebuilt in mainly carbon fibre).

      Yeah I think they should go watch a bunch of Mike Patey videos on working with carbon fiber and remake the front bumper

    The fact that almost no other UA-camr even mentioned this beautiful car, shows exactly why you guys are my favourite automotive channel. Putting actual effort into something and building something unique is what its all about. Not fixing some badly damaged car but turning a damaged car into something completely different and better.
